Just got my figure a couple of days ago and decided to take it out of the box and the left leg wasn't attached to the ball joint. So I attached it back on but keeps popping off just wondering if anyone else has the same problem? I ordered mine through BBTS and called them to let them know and they're sending me a replacement figure. Update, So I received my replacement order and on 3 sep 22. Opened it and as soon as I take it out of the plastic the right leg pops off. Anyway not sure if I'm going to keep it or return it for a refund.
The joints look pretty much what collectors of asian import figures are used to from Figma, Revoltech and Figuarts. What I don't like is the inabiliy to get his head into a flying pose - not that any Iron Man as an example is too great with it or that the S7 ones will be. It's a limitation that can be overcome, but it takes some serious floating caps.
It's okay but I feel the Super7 is a better figure, it may not have the shine, but it also doesn't have those weird shoulder pads. Now all we need is the Tiger Sharks and the Big 3 will be complete, Thundercats & Silverhawks were more popular, but Tiger Sharks was a great sleeper. I'm just glad the 2011 Thundercats locked down a shared universe between the 3. Hopefully the people making the new show loved the Silverhawks and we don't get some weird mash-up of a show we loved but crapped on.
Yea I was thinking the same thing. This was suppose to be the better figure but the joint only have single jointed range. Basically it’s gonna move just like the Super7 one. I bet the Super7 one will at least look up a little better. I feel the lack of steel shiny paint on the Super7 one is a fair trade off to get a more cartoon accurate one.
Whoa bro…. 2 things; 1: these guys and SuperStupid7 don’t have a clue what reflective chrome paint or plating looks like or probably ever owned the original figures to know or appreciate a mirror like finish on SILVER Hawks figures. And 2: you obviously don’t know your left from your right because you put the right wing on his left arm and left wing on the right arm. L means his left R means his right… not yours 🤦🏽♂️.
LOL I had them on right/correct at first. I really do not see why they are labeled like that maybe a slight curve to them that fits better on different sides
In my opinion it's missing the Quicksilver's characteristic big blue eyes and there is something else about the face sculpt that doesn't feel right. The overall proportions would have benefited from a more accentuated V shaped torso, thicker thighs and a smaller crotch. The shoulder pads should've been able to rotate with the arms and the range in almost every articulation point is a bit limited, specially the head going up, this is after all a flying character (how can you not mention that). With a properly designed crotch and legs combo the legs can achieve optimal range without the need for a drop down system and the saved can be spent some other way. I know this is a small company but $65 plus shipping and import taxes is way more then I pay for a SH Figuarts, that was the reason I stopped buying Super7 Other then that it looks better then the Centurions, this is a new company and it seems to be evolving, at least in terms of look, if they improve the engineering their next franchise could be the one that convinces me. Thanks for the review Tydirium.
The only thing I thought ramen would do better then super 7 was to have a high gloss metal look. This looks like a figma for 100 bucks. I will stick to super 7 who's not perfect but I know what I get.
The wings collapsing down would have put this over the top, but everything looks good except the price. A third party should try too make wings for it.
I'm on the fence about which ones I want to get. I think I'll wait for super 7 to release theirs and watch reviews on those first. I would prefer the whole team but I'd want them to match as well.
Have you been made aware of the fact that Super7 had to cede their ownership claim of Silverhawks to Warner Brothers? I'm surprised Ramen was still able to release this with the Silverhawks name on it. I don't think Warner Brothers is going to grant him the license moving forward. So what's he going to do? Unlicensed "ShinyBirds"?
That is a sticky situation that Super 7 will have to iron out but I have no problem with them going forward with a 3p name especially since these are stylized
@@darthprime4916 Super7 already licenses Thundercats from WB, so they will just pay the fee to WB to release their SilverHawks as promised. Ramen is in a different boat, though. They are a small, unproven, overseas company and will have a hard time obtaining a license from a big corporation like WB.
@@therealivydawg It depends. I have vac metal figures from the 70's and 80's that are just fine. At any rate, just not interested in these as they are.
The head does not seem to be able to be tilted upward (or bend backward) far enough for the flying position. That's a deal breaker for me! I can't have Quicksilver always looking downward when flying.
They probably assumed, most people will have him standing on the shelf. NECA's Gargoyles look great, but you will never get a decent flying pose out of them, since with the exception of Broadway and Lexington, the all have long hair and they opted for angry face heads instead of flying swept back hair heads.
@@bladerunner3314 That's very unfortunate. I hope Super 7 version will be different in a better sense. After all, if they are to create a vehicle for the teams, 4 of them would have to be able to tilt the head upward.
@@Recoverel In all honesty, I don't see it - it's possible (cut out in the neck with a swivel ball peg), but since what they've shown so far baaaaaasically still is the old MotU buck with now pinless arms and legs for Thundercats that's a no go. I own almost every classics figure, and unless you heavily modify the back of the head and neck- ie a big cut out on both, no way.
@@bladerunner3314 I actually met Brian Flynn in person at the recent SDCC! And I asked him about the possibility of making the Miraj for the Silverhawks. He said, "Get the figure first!" So I don't think he is committal on making the Miraj. If Super 7 does, I wonder whether they can include alternate heads. Should've told him.... Really nice guy though!
@@Recoverel I think alternate heads are the better way indeed - maybe as a bonus for the ship - an additional incentive for peeps to dish out what will most likely be 500 to 600 bucks, depending on the engineering. it's nice but not worth the $100 USD (before shipping) that they're asking for
But for $100???? No thanks, I guess I'll make my own custom instead.
You gotta nail the visor/head, 20% differences or not, I’d have bought it if they had. Unfortunate cause I love everything else.
"A working visor"? You mean magic? Yeah. That would be cool.
Ordered from Ramen site. Look forward to the MASK Thunderhawk too
I'm excited to see their MASK stuff and Bravestarr

I did not really notice that as an issue until I started displaying on that flight stand
Can’t wait for mine I ordered him and monstar but asked ramen to ship them together to save on shipping.

Dig the side by side w Kenner Quicksilver
At 9:35 your audio hard clipped. Cut the audio for a fraction of a second.
To bad super 7 split from ramen. No more silverhawks from ramen
Well I know there are more designs so we will see
Good review bud
They couldn’t do no better on the hand joints
NO WAY!!! I want one now!!!
Dumb question, why on Ramen toy ig, on the back of the box it says super 7..
They worked out a license deal with Super 7 but turns out Super7 did not have that ability
@@tydiriumhanger1320 thank you !

Good thing our honest and virtuous Brian Flynn from Super7 won't renew/expand Ramen Toy's limited SilverHawks license.
I hear this situation is bigger than Brian and he did not even show Silverhawks at SDCC so there is an issue there

Yes the head should look up for flight I am new to using those flight stands and that would have been a great way to pose

Yes chrome would have looks even better but I am happy with this sheen
The wings collapsing down would have put this over the top, but everything looks good except the price. A third party should try too make wings for it.
They actually had separate splaying parts that collapsed in a test but the total wing was too thick to be viable so they went with these wings
So is this a web item not at target or walmart maybe circuit city or k-mart
Yes you can only get this at Ramentoy.com or BBTS
For the price can't like it at all😛👎
True it is pricey but these may be the only silverhawks we see in the modern era and they are great
If you're in the US, it's a little cheaper on BBTS

These are here now and look great! I have super 7 on preorder but no clue when those will be released
@@tydiriumhanger1320 yeah it does look good. If super 7's look average I'll just get this guy and I can be happy with just quicksilver.

I am happy with mine and it looks great on the shelf so bring on MON Star
Looking forward to receiving mine. Should be soon. Mon-Star too.
Those will look great together
Now we need a larger version that has laser beams in it´s joints and yet another that can fly like a fixed wing aircraft.
Great ideas what would that cost LOL
@@tydiriumhanger1320 It would have to be at least 1/4 scale to fit laser pointers inside the arms, so I would say A LOT, lol.

This looks great!!!!!
I am very pleased with this figure
Man i really like the use of the magnets. super clean and no little pegs to break. Thanks for sharing!
Surprising that they work better than I thought
Gotta praise the art box, Ramen Toys really went premium with that. I would love to see the entire team in this new iteration
Everything feels premium on this figure and yes to finishing the team
I’d be all over this if I knew they were making the team
They have more designs and I have faith they will get a release
I like the magnetized hawk
It is a cool feature
Hopefully we get all of them within a reasonable amount of time. It is a nice figure.
I am hoping for many more of these
Not from ramen. Super7 split from ramen.
Great review on an amazing figure. 👍
Thanks and it is a fun figure with new features
I'd be all over these if they were vac-metalized like Mattel has been doing for some newer figures.
That would have been awesome but many reasons this was not vac metal
