The introduction to Fermzilla Starter Kits
Geterbrewed stock a wide range of Fermzilla equipment and in this video we are showing how a 35 litre fermzilla starter kit works and what extra pieces of equipment you will need to effectively ferment under pressure.
Fermenting under pressure allows you to ferment faster and at higher temperatures, an option is to read the instructions on your yeast and ferment at the higher end of the temperature range.
The fermzilla pressure kit comes with a float and dip tube, this attaches to the beer out carbonation cap. The ball lock connector with the 2 bar pressure release value/spunding valve fits onto the gas carbonation cap.
You can also dispense straight out of the fermenter, the benefit to fermenting under pressure means you can brew NEIPA, IPA's and hop forward beers without the risk of oxidising. The Fermzilla range now only allows you to view the fermentation take place but it is significantly cheaper than Stainless Steel uni tanks.
This is the first video in a series we intend to make

Thanks! Finally a Fermzilla vid that actually delivers useful information.
I watched several others and was rather frustrated: No, I don't want to watch you brew your beer. I've been doing it for longer than you have. Just tell me about Fermzilla.

Great video. I have just bought the Ferminator Connect from you and planning to use this with my firmzilla in a few days time. I'm brewing an IPA with a standard yeast and planning on dry hopping near the end of the fermentation. Would you ferment straight away under pressure or use the bubbler initially then use pressure when its the end of the fermentation for example when I am adding the dry hops? Thanks, Ian

2Quick Questions: How long do you ferment an ale under pressure say at 10 psi? Do you put the spunding valve on and set it when you first put the wort into the Fermzilla? Thanks

If the temperature is constant you'll notice fermentation will be quick , yes add valve at start of fermentation, you can push the fermentation temperature up higher if fermenting under pressure also we have found. Every beer style and abv will obviously vary a little so hard to give a detailed timescale, though if you want to ferment fast use the kviek voss yeast from lallemand and it'll ferment out in record time

Just got my fermzilla 27l i ordered recently, and i'm thinking i'll go that route and ferment under pressure. Whats the most non complicated way to fill bottles from that?

Apologies for the slow reply, I’d recommend a pressure kit for the lid , a few ball lock disconnects , some beer line and a bottle filling gun

Have you tried the Williamswarn brewkeg system? Comes with a price tag but a much better quality system compared to the Fermzilla.

First time i've came across that brand, looks interesting

How do you know if you have given it the 'correct' ammount of pressure during fermentation so that you achieve the wanted carbonation lvl?
Also, how do you know when the fermentation proces is finished when using this method? (im used to the bubble airlock)

For me I’ve never really been able to achieve the “correct” amount of carbonation from pressure fermentation, but I get quite close meaning I’m saving on CO2.
Gravity readings tell you all you need to know. Once I get to within 10 points of my target FG I crank the pressure on the spunding valve up from 15 to around 30 so as fermentation finishes it gets a little more carbonated.

you can also just ferm at 30psi the entire time, then closed keg transfer, refrigerate, and reattach the spunding valve once the beer is cold (and pressure has reduced) to set to serving pressure. that will vent all excess gas.

Will the black cap fit a King keg? I have time for the basics of the King keg but the fittings on the top a rubbish.

There is something queer going on hear, I don't recall posting black caps fit a king keg. Is somebody fucking about with my posts?

How would you bottle from this???

    • @Geterbrewed
      @Geterbrewed  2 роки тому +1

If you add a pressure kit to the lid you would do a closed transfer using ball lock connectors, beer line and a bottle filling gun
