Nice job. I’ve seen a small steam boat as a kid which moves using this engine. So basically this same engine is mounted inside a ship “body “ which is designed to go in a circle as long as the fire is on. Was a fun toy! 😁
Nice! thanks for the comment!
@@MrGamb did you put water in pipes and if you do how much water "half or more or less". Sorry for my english.
I've seen several videos of hand made pop pop boats and yours si the most beatiful one 👍🏻
Thank you very much!
I like your ideas Mr. Gamb.
Now I can make the cute boat from Ponyo!!!
❤❤ pencetnya berapaan mesinnya❤❤
I thought we put water through copper pipes into that round container, which we heat with candle to produce steam, which runs the boat.
Good job! Congratulations on your dedication and commitment!
Thank you very much!
Increíble. Lo felicito. Saludos desde la Patagonia Argentina.
The vice pipe bender was a veryh clever idea and one will use.
The paint can bottom for the dome is a good idea.
Congratulations keep up the good work .👌🇧🇷
valeu irmão!
Ponyo and Sosuke joined the chat...
Good Job my dear friend!!!!! Awesome!!!!
Thank you very much!
Absolutamente Genijal 😃
Great idea !!!👍
Mr.Gamb. I hope you might reply. I think of all the videos on pop pop boilers, this is the best. I've watched many but no one is talking about the angle of the boiler. How did you arrive at the tipped up design rather than flat.
One other thing no one mentions is metal prep to remove varnish. I've encountered this and takes awhile.
I also thought of soldering the disc inside the boiler as yours, but am going to attempt to solder it on the flat edge of the can first. Sorry for length of post. It looks like you're using 5/16" tubing, does diameter matter ?
the inclination of the boiler has to do with the accumulation of steam in the highest part! and also to facilitate the release of excess heat from the flame, which in my case could melt the solder on the tube, tin is not a good option for this! but if you don't leave a very strong flame it works! I used 5/16"! For the size of the boiler, I think it's the most appropriate measure! I don't have much knowledge on the subject... I hope I helped! Thanks for the comment! Hugs...
@@MrGamb Thanks for the reply. My experiment only worked briefly until the solder blew out near the flame. Plus the .006" (.1524 mm) thick lid wasn't flexible enough to pop.
I'm trying to figure some way to lock in a soda can Aluminum top inside the ring of the boiler. It's becoming somewhat harder to construct this design than many videos show. I haven't tried Silver solder, but heat required may deform everything. Still trying. Thanks again.
@@MrGamb I built it many years ago, but now I realize why mine didn't sound, I'll try one more time, thank you Mr.
@@MrGamb - ”the inclination of the boiler has to do with the accumulation of steam in the highest part”, but the protruding ends of the pipes should be there too, otherwise the water would be thrown out also, hence the inclination of the boiler should be the opposite way. Nice idea, anyway! What about using lighter pipes and with nozzles, to increase the speed of the steam, the inner pressure, the temperature of the steam and the energy of the jet?
You can hammer the outer ends of pipes around a needle to get nozzles, then you can load water with a syringe.
Abraço aqui do Brasil 🇧🇷
O mano do vídeo é brasa
Obrigado Amigo!
Can blades be installed in the holes for thrust after that explanation?
I don't understand friend!
Thank you!
Amazing gonna do this. What is the Diameter of the copper pipe?
well done!
The fire might be hot enough to melt the solder. What is your experience with that?
Hi! The water vapor doesn't get too hot! But if the fire is excessive this can be a problem! I had this problem!
@@MrGamb No if you use the solder that plumbers use 50 or 90, it is easier to weld with the torch.
Nice. How about if we use 2 set of motor? Does it sound like a harley davidson?
Great idea! I will think about it. 😉
@@MrGamb Thanks. I should subscribe for your next videos 👍
Yeah with no exhaust. Seriously a Harley with no exhaust is loud and almost bubbly sounding.

Super engine!
Can this method actually work if one is trying to build a realistic pop pop boat that can fit 2 people?
Hi! I don't know if this can be replicated on a larger scale! Would have to try!
you can't. The thermal efficiency is very low. The heat on a larger scale will have to be extreme for it to work. Even if you manage the heat somehow, the cost of fuel will be prohibitive.
@@arnoldtm31 oh, alright. Thank you for the info.
Nice Sir 😁👍🏻
Give this guy a freaking oscar
What is the the flat circle made of?
I used a piece of lubricant spray can
Excelente.
great video, but what material did you use to weld?
Is it just tin??
Yes!
fe
What glue do your recommend using? I don’t have a metal welding machine.
epoxy glue
There is no machine involved. You can buy a cheap soldering iron for $30 or a better model from Hakko for $75. You need flux and soldering tin and they are fairly cheap to buy.
@@diegosilang4823 I made one out of a pencil once, and it worked surprisingly well
@@MrGamb , heat releases most types of glue. Epoxy might or might not hold during heating from the candle.
Thank you for the instructions.
Incredible 🙀
Thank you very much!!
Hola.
I'm trying to build on of these, and for the life of me I cannot get the aluminum and copper to solder. The solder just floats on top and never sticks, no matter how hot I get the metal. Can anyone offer any advice?
You need to use a soldering flux and the correct materials.
Bro has a whole engine dyno for a steam engine lol
I thought about making one out of the bottom of a propane tank and the top of a 55 gallon drum and put it on a small fishing boat and ride it around.
dude...try it, I hope it works!👍
Maybe add a sound damper to the top. Definitely will be loud.
Muito bons teus vídeos. Vi que os rótulos são brasileiros. De onde você é, amigo?
Obrigado! sou do PR
Spectacular Thanks a lot 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
👍
You can kill time with that great.
Will the lead melt when we heat for long time??
Yes bro because of it is soldering wire it will be melted if used for long time
if the flame is strong it can happen!
spectacular...
Thank you very much!
Pequena no meu ver !
👏👏👏🔝
what kind of tin did you use???
regular spray can
indonesia 1992 here :V
i calling boat klotok klotok
Nah , Amazing work .
Is it necessary to use copper pipe only ?
It's cheap and easy to solder, but you can use brass(hard to bend) or aluminum (hard to solder) or steel brake line(too heavy)
Hi! As the friend said, it is the best material to use!
No but copper is soft and pliable and easy to bend you can use other pipe if you can bend itt
Amazing steam engine for put put boat
That's how the USS Enterprise was made.

Scotty: We can’t go any faster.
Spock: Interesting indeed.
Supper sir ur video
Amazin....
Mr. Game ? I like to see if a human can ride a larger size steam pop pop engine boat using the bottom part of a 42 gallon barrel, big copper pipes, automotive sheet metal with a small fishing boat for 2-4 people.
I imagine it would be pretty cool!👍
LQQK up a propane powered Pulse-jet, It is the progression of this idea.
you better hope those are not your mom's sewing scissors
😁
@@carlosalbertodalbem2755 bien gracias y bendiciones
But the heat of the candle will melt down the solderings & the steam leaks😅
Sound like a honda
You really need to put an explosion warning over the part where you cut open a can with propellant with a grinding wheel cutter!
Ha Ha, @ 0:35 you can see the explosion warning label on the can!!!!!!!
Yeah, I noticed that too.
👍👍👍

Ponyoooooo!!!
which metal for welding
I used tin!
That is not welding. It is soldering.
@@senatorjosephmccarthy2720 ok.

Sim!
Song at end plz
