Pardon my French but holy f*** this is incredible. Mr Montbleau you are so underrated and undiscovered. But man am I glad I have found your music. Hope to see you this summer. Keep on.
Spotify Wrapped just told me this was my favourite song of the year. Up until now I didn't know who it was by 😳 It's on one of my acoustic guitar/blues playlists but I never look at my phone when listening, just press play and do stuff around the house, garden, with headphones on at work etc. Had to come here to give props, I have indeed listened to this song hundreds of times, just never saw who was performing. I'm really glad though, I now have an entirely new rabbit hole to dive into next year as I go through your catalogue. Thank you for an amazing song and I'm sure theres plenty more to love. 👏
I love this song :) Ryan, I've been a fan since myspace music days! Glad you're still at it and all four of my kids are getting to grow up on your music :)
Agreed, Sensai... “the Wife” and I were there too, and the performance of ‘Ships in The Night’ as well as the entire set was phenomenal. BBQ V was my first music festival in over 35 years (last was the Kool Jazz Festival at SPAC!), and “the Wife’s” first music festival ever. While I wish the organizers of that event great success so it will continue, we really like the small-venue nature the lends to a more-intimate atmosphere. We are looking forward to going back again. Hopefully Ryan and the band make a return trip as well! Great job, boys! Cheers!!!
This is absolutely just one of the best songs ever. So on point for our time. I heard it live for the first time a few years ago. I cried, I cry almost every time I listen to it. Kind of hard not to.
Ryan, your music is amazing. My favorite track is "Dead Set". As someone who struggles with intense emotional reasoning at times (usually very self destructive) due to past trauma, it speaks to my soul. I used to listen to it during bad episodes to help... Thank you.
This song is absolutely perfect. I've been a decade long fan but this has to be my single favorite piece of art he's created, I've come back to it so many times over the past year. It amazes me when an artist as prolific as Ryan is still putting out such high quality music after so many years.Thank you for your music, you have such a beautiful way of communicating the thoughts and feelings that so many people share but just can't articulate.
Come Down to Chattanooga Tennessee and Play Track 29 and Smith's Old Bar in Atlanta and the Alabama Theater in Birmingham. I have been spreading your music down here and people live it. Come on Down, you are a special musician!
OK, someone asked me for the fingerpicking pattern on this. I’ve never mapped this kind of thing out before but I just gave it a shot. If each string is a number: 5 2 3 5 4 5 3 4 5 / 5 4 5 3 5 4 5 2 5 3 4 5
@@RyanMontbleau I am one who believes we voted the right man in. Please don't hold it against me. Love your music by the way. Question any chance of you doing Grace Potters Grand Point North?
Stewart Atwood I live right where that festival and would love to play it sometime if they want me. The line is “I can’t believe that we elected that man. Yes I can.” Which I stand by 100% and is pretty neutral in my eyes. I have some understanding of why someone would vote for him (although I did not). Do you have some understanding of why someone would be in disbelief that he was elected?
@@RyanMontbleau I am from the eastern part of Maine, My first time going was last year. You would be a great fit for that fest. Here is to hoping. On their FB site they have a suggested acts. I put you down a while back. But if you don't get to play there I hope to see your show someday. Thanks for the music.
This is absolutely amazing! I would love to be able to play this as well so i was wondering if you had any tutorial, tabs or sheet music i could access? Keep doing what you're doing

So can you see the future or something? Because this song is everything I've seen and felt in 2020. And... I don't get it. All I know is that this is one of the best songs I've ever heard. It made me feel things. And goddamn my man.
Amazing song, but I'm not sure about the meaning of the lyric (I'm not native in english). Critical to the sistem and society and for the election of Trump, right?

I must say, I absolutely agree! He has been my summer soundtrack! I've been showing him to all of my friends! Him and Haley! Glorious!
🙏🙏 Glad we found each other.
“Perfection is achieved, not when there is nothing more to add, but when there is nothing left to take away.” BRILLIANT❤
I think the politicians took that line a bit 🤏 too literally 😢
greatest songwriter alive.
Been thinking about this song a lot in the last 10 days. Hits hard with all we have seen.

😅 Much respect for this man... able to put so many peoples feelings into words and music. 💞 🎶 ✌️
One of the best lyricists since Jim Croce , Paul Simon and Joni Mitchell
He's right up there with Jason Isbell
This song really touched my heart, thank you Ryan Montbleau 🙏❤️
Absolutely mesmerizing and shot at The Cabot. Sound is perfect. Can't stop listening to this.

Was looking for the Mat Kearney song but dang... This was a pleasant surprise
I want this at my funerallll
So much emotion in the lyrics as well as in the delivery (edit: as well as in the topic sung about); a truly remarkable piece of music this is.
A perfect snapshot in time of the lost of our generation
Excellent. Kicking so many asses in a professional way. shoeless. blessings.
missing each other entierly, from the craddle to the grave without so much as a wave...
Breaks my heart everytime
