Seems like the outer would be nice for smaller fish but when you lock it in the back the locking collar is to close to the reel & interferes, i prefer the lock on the end of the holder when trolling salmon like the scotty holder, but to each to there own✌️
Great stuff.. I was at Shelley and Jason's this weekend and they were asking how my UA-cam channel was going.. And they told me to check out your channel...
I know you said you used bolts, not sure if you meant to say screws or not. But I didn’t see any nuts on the bottom of gunnel, did you drill through your gunnel?
I bought a set off of Amazon for my Lund sport track and they come with the mounts and everything. Very easy and simple to set up. I got the 3pk for $165. I love them so far. First use they're a bit tough because all the excess plastic from the mold isn't fully cleaned up. But after you've put them in and out a couple times it becomes super easy.
Absolutely do not buy these rod holders if you are drifting for catfish. I put six on my boat and have broke 2 of them when the rods got hung up on the bottom.

Agreed! When a big salmon hits..it can be hard to get the rod out due to the pressure.

Hey, thanks for watching!
Good video thanks I'm looking at buying a set
Glad I could help
I do a lot of lake trout fishing in canada. Will these support a heavy trout rod? And would they work for trolling for lake trout?
Absolutely...I use them for lake trout and salmon on the great lakes...they have never failed me.
It sucks to have to drill on the boat for a rod holder. Still looking for no drill rod holders
Ya, I know the feeling...it is a big decision. :)

Yes, I did and used a bolt which is threaded into the aluminum gunnel. It is solid!
Decent rod holders for the money but the pointed fronts of them tend to chew up my rod grips.
I can see how that might be an issue...thanks for the feedback!
will they hold a dipsey diver?
Yes, very well.
Will these fit in the Scotty mounts?
Not sure, but I doubt it...these are tight and have a snug fit.
Nope they don’t… I have both… and neither fit into each others sockets.
These are definitely good rod holders
Agreed! The best!
Where do I order these at?
I just checked and they have them on eBay.
Do they make them for a versa track
Great question, I am not sure.

Just wish they can turn easier
Agreed, but they will loosen a bit over time.

Thanks for sharing your experience.
