How to Capture PS5 in OBS WITHOUT Capture Card! [2021]

- If you want to learn how to capture your PS5 footage without the use of an Elgato or some other capture card device, you've come to the right place. The process is pretty simple, albeit the final product being inferior to the real thing if you're trying to stream using WiFi as I happened to in this video. Ethernet is always going to be your best bet. And when I mention Ethernet, I mean a cable in your computer to your router, as well as a cable from your router to your PS5. This method still gives you the versatility to customize your stream to your liking and is better than just using the built-in Twitch app on your Playstation 5, if you ask me.

I run remote play with an ethernet cable and it runs perfect for anyone in the chat who's planning to go this route.
Do you need to connect your Ethernet to the console or the laptop using remote play?
@@miggygaming5386 The ethernet was connected to my ps5. I have ethernet connected to all my consoles and main gaming pc. I also ran it without ethernet and it didn't run as smoothly as well.
My audio( mic ) doesn't come through. I'm a complete newbie. Any advice or feedback would be appreciated. And also best way to adjust audio so gameplay doesn't overpower mic?

@@StreamerSchool I got things working. but my audio is abysmal and the latency between controller input and reaction is dicy. so i still have things to figure out. But your vid got me farther than i ever would have on my own

I FINALLY got the black screen resolved! You’re the only one to recommend toggling the Windows 10 option, and it’s what fixed it!

you helped me with alot on streaming but have yet to say anything about capturing your own audio or the party audio when streaming without a capture card. talked about everything BUT one of the main components
Found a way bro so basically if you have a ps5 mic one of the ps mics yk js connect the usb to the back of your pc then switch all the audio to the headset in and out put then on obs js record your mic audio with your actual microphone to the in put audio on obs should pick up your friends voices and your mic would pick up yours I’ll drop a video soon on it
Sorry for the late response. I've replied to a lot of comments saying that I use discord or xbox game bar to talk to (and stream audio from) people I play with online. As far as game chat, I don't really use it personally, so I'm not sure. My own audio comes from my microphone plugged into the computer via USB.

Hey man, if I get a capture card, would it eliminate the need for me to plug in my controller to my computer? Is there anyway I can bypass having to plug it in to my computer or am I stuck lol

@@creamycream5820 not a stupid question at all! Try your hand and OBS Studio, it has less usage, generally. I have a recent video about getting your assets from SLOBS to OBS quite easily.

Yo, I'm giving this a watch and a sub just because I'm down with it and wanna try it out sometime. But my question is, would it be better just to buy a capture card/system for $50 bucks or less or should someone do this and wait to but a decent card?

This is a good temporary method if you're on a budget and trying to save up for a card or to just see if you enjoy streaming. The card will give you a better image 9 times outta 10.
@@StreamerSchool No problem on the sub man, this is some great information! If I was just trying to capture myself playing, say Elden Ring, for the most part but wanted to stream down the road would it still be worth it to get a card?
My son and I would rather make UA-cam videos and just mix sound in later, but steaming isn't out of the question either.

Add a new capture and put camera. Make sure it’s on top of the game capture

What about using the DroidCam app on iPhone with OBS? Will that work together to stream on Twitch?

It works but there is a slight delay with the button pricing as well as bag graphics is there anyway to fix that
It's all dependent on your internet speed and consistency. Like I said in the video, I recommend looking at your TV to play the game instead of your pc's monitor so latency isn't an issue.

I run ethernet cable into my ps5 and I still have input lag. Any suggestions, because I really don't want to have to rebuy my ps5 games, and not have to buy a $150 capture card. With Ps5 remote play I have input lag, for example: when I jump on a game like cod mw2 it would jump a couple milliseconds late. And my gaming laptop doesn't even have a ethernet cable port.
2 dumb questions so if I wanted to use this for my PS5 even though it is running off of wifi could I still connect the ethernet cable from my PS5 to my computer? And my second question is there any way to still use the PS5 camera when connected to streamlabs obs because I have my setting directly on top of my TV?
To your first question, yes. It wouldn't be as good as an ethernet connection, but it'll work.
To the second, I don't think so. It does look like you can connect the PS5 camera to your pc instead of the console and possibly use it that way, but I'm not sure.

Hey man. Im streaming from ps5 onto elgato hd60s. My game play audio sounds muffled in my streams. Any advice? I've literally tried everything I can think of and not many videos out there to help.
I'd check the audio sample rate. Update the Elgato firmware through the 4k Capture Utility. Make sure that HDCP is disabled on the PS5. Test record and see if the issue persists.

Keep the controller plugged into the PC and still play on your main monitor.

I have a good image in the output but it's seems to bee too dark my image it's not brilliant and also the second problem is that i have a text on the top with the words remote play connection active. Once I click window capture and select the window I want, how do I get rid of the white bar at the top that says “remote play” on the window I’m capturing. On this white bar is also the minimize and the other buttons and I don’t know how to crop that out since I don’t want it being shown in the picture. Let me know if you have an idea. I hope this makes sense.

When connected to a ps5 how do I get that audio through to the computer because when I was connected with my controller there wasn’t an option to adjust any audio. And this goes for my mic too, I’m guessing I would need to connect the mic to my computer rather than the ps5 right?

You have to play it on your computer. You still watch it on the TV.
