- Here I demonstrate how to merge two pieces of J-channel together. The method ensures that both pieces of j channel on either side can expand and contract with the changing of the temperatures.
I don’t side too often and I forgot so much since I did a full job and your videos are so helpful bro, as a carpenter I can watch them and rematch them if I have to and not take up 45 minutes with unnecessary production 😂
Thanks, you’re welcome, and sorry ‘bout that - I think… 😊 lol. And yeah going backwards is a huge pet peeve of mine! 😉
That is a good technique! That's what I like to do on siding jobs I do too!
It looks a lot cleaner than what the manufacturers tell you to do. 👍🏼
Would you mind showing this at a normal pace. You did it fast like you’re on the job, lo. Seriously, it was so fast I couldn’t see what you were doing. Please Demonstrate things at a teaching pace, not working pace, thanks
I’ll make a new video for this technique.
Thanks so much. I’ve sided my two story house and a few other things over the years, but not much formal training. Everyone I know that does it for a living, works really fast, guess you have to to make money, lol, thanks
Hi Jerry, I made a more detailed video... here's the link: ua-cam.com/video/ph1VFh559VU/v-deo.html
Is this practical around windows if you only have small pieces of j channel to work with?
I try not to put extra seams if it can be avoided… some people don’t seem to mind the look, but to me it’s not a “professional” looking job. If the windows are on the second floor you could put the overlap facing up (away from the main vantage point) so it is harder to see.
@@sidingschoolthank you. I was going to shortcut a window but I’ll just make another trip and wait a day, not the end of the world 😂. I was trying to get it done today but no reason it has to be done today.
Sometimes it is hard to stop a project 1/2 done lol. I get it.
You went way too fast and camera angle is not good.
Well I tried… I may make another video with a better angle for ya. Thanks for your feedback!
