Please make the top100 like this every year the reactions make it much more enjoyable. The plot twist at Tom's list wouldn't have been the same without Zee's reaction.
I liked this format very much, I would vote for keeping it for next years.
Totally agree. The group dynamic is way more exciting than when they do it solo. They mentioned that it was a lot of work though so I think that they could do 100-20 in a solo video for each, but the top 20 at the very least should be the three of them together.
I third the motion. To be honest, these days I watch TDT's Top 10s to watch the three of them reacting to each other's picks.
Agreed, way way better
If they add images of components and boards, yes.
Me too ! But maybe they should do this once every two years. And then a varied format for the others years 🙅🏼♂️. Would be nice and structured and also diverse. Plus there would be some new games when they do it with the three of them! 😀
Fun fact about Onirim, the designer is actually an Opera singer. Designed games he could play by himself while he's touring.
Opera Singer turned game designer or was it the other way around?
Still is both, but he started out Opera singer. He loves games but has noone to play with when he's on tours so he designed his own games he could play by himself.
that is insane. Dude sounds like a bad-ass. Performing operas, playtesting games.
Yeah, I saw an interview (possibly the same interview) a few years back and I thought "Whoa that guy is fascinating and charming, I'm buying that game" and boy oh boy I dont regret it. Onirim is tons of fun.
Holy shit. Amazing. Dude is rocking those bass notes.
57.50 the shock on Sam and Zee’s faces 😂😂
I don't think that anyone ever dreamed that this day would come!
Rutger Buiteveld how the mighty have fallen.
The look of pride on Tom's face :)
Staarfury its the most fun moment of the dt I know.
57:50
Please! Never go back to individual Top 100's. I loved the whole series this year, its been very entertaining. Seriously, top notch guys.
Fantastic stuff, guys. Seriously, I hope you'll do it this way every time from now on (the 3 of you play off each other really well).
How can people be so funny, only by counting down their favorit games. Thank you for so much fun :D
Greets from Germany and i hope to see you Guys tommorrow in Essen ;)
Wow I can't believe that Monopoly was number 1 on all of their lists
It holds up very well.
Man... Spoilers... Jeez...
that one Reported you to UA-cam. How dare you spew that filth out of your dirty, dirty mouth.
And Diplomacy was number 2 on all of their lists.
The Game of Life was #3, man it's like my childhood is still going strong!
I know this was alot of work for you guys. But man I loved this format so much!! Please consider doing it again.
I love seeing the guys doing there top 100 together. The true cooperative list.
Fantastic top 100 this year guys - thoroughly enjoyed it. Many thanks!
Oh boy!😲 Thank you for this series, so much fun!😃 Next question is: What do I watch now...
Zee's #1 game description is the best in any Top 10 so far :)
Just wanted to say thank you for making these lists and introducing new games that I can pick up for my game group!
It's a joy to see how much fun you guys get doing these videos. Really entertaining and informative. Kudos!
We loved this format!! So, so fun to watch. We anticipated each and every one, and when they came out it was an event. How about making this a stretch goal in the next KS campaign? We'd be motivated to see it happen again! Thanks for putting these together. We appreciate the extra work you did.
So fun to watch you guys. I hope you keep doing these lists. It helps me know what to buy, Thank you so much!!
All three of you guys are so funny without really trying to be. It makes these videos such a pleasure to watch.
Thank you so so so much for making me smile and laugh during my lunch at work. I don't agree with every choice every time but I do enjoy the passion each of you have about your games and the ribbing you give each other about each other's choices without being mean-spirited. Now I have to wait until 430 to go give my FLGS a cut of my paycheck!!!!
Love the Brothers Murph!
Please please do this again next year. Every video has been a really good watch and thoroughly entertaining. Thanks again
This is quite possibly the best Top 10 list you guys have done in a very long time. Don't mind the haters! Keep doing what you're doing.
thanks guys! very great serie! Always enjoyable.
Thank you so much for the top 100 list! I laughed often! I know Le Havre is a place in France, but I still giggled at Zee's comment. :) I always enjoy reviews with the three of you together, and it's nice to hear your top lists together, to see how your tastes differ and where they overlap. Also, with Le Havre, Caverna, and Viticulture in your top ten, Tom, no one can say you are anti-Euro!
Fun time watching. Thanks for all the work and the new ideas you're sharing (or did in earlier lists). I am enjoying researching some of the ones you liked (& not hitting one-click purchasing on LeHavre) :)
Le Havre is actually a place in France hence the name of the game Zee
Stefan Scheel yeah, I don't understand how a name of game in another language is snottie (have no idea how to spell that word).
Le Havre doesn't even translate to Harbor. C'est un port.
Stefan Scheel Sam is the same way about Orleans. There is a certain way to pronounce the word/city. Pronouncing it correctly doesn't mean I think I'm French.
Also, you guys have a tendency of pronouncing La Havre instead of Le Havre
Normal for English speaking people to say La instead of le.
My mind is blown! Great job guys! and thanks for this content
This format works so well, keep it up for next year! Plenty of banter! Also give Zee a break, he’s likely not been to France to know that Le Havre is a place. I actually visited it once, not exactly.....the ritz....Game is great though, marginally missed my Top 100.
This format worked very well for the top 100, in my opinion, hopefully you'll do it like this next year too!
My brain just blew up! Hahaha. Awesome. Great job guys. Hope to see you Saturday in Essen. :)
Please keep doing them all together! It's so much more fun👍
Wellp, I've never watched more than video from this channel, and I loved this video. I disliked everyone guessing and spoiling the upcoming games a bit, but in the end the amount of surprise and awe sold me. :)
I love the banter between you guys it's so funny. Great lists too
I love your top 10 videos guys thanks for the great content.
Very much fun! Would be nice to make a top ten of games you (zee, Tom and Sam) would like to play together the most!:)
I was waiting for these guys to peel back their skin and be aliens. What just happened!??!?!? :D
YEAH! Haven't even watched it yet but been looking forward to this all year! lol
Great job guys... and the Murph transitions were hilarious!
Not to focus on the negative, though, great final video and great series as well. I really enjoyed your insights into your favorite games, and laughed out loud several times! Great work, guys.
Sam: "You were supposed to bring balance to the force."
Zee: "Have you felt the awakening?"
LOL
Watching these guys coming up on 8 years now, this year is definitely the proof that their styles are all changing. So many great games out there these days.
This Top 100 is going to have me revisiting your review videos... and will probably cost me a small fortune!! 😂😂
The transitions with the 2 guys are great. #5 is great. Please have them on again.
Time index 1:00:42 - priceless. Please keep doing your top 10 of all time in this format.
Such great chemistry. Vasel-Healey-Garcia is in the same league as Clarkson-Hammond-May. Tom's #2 surprise is unscripted comedy at its best. Bravo guys, bravo.
Woaaah I loved both Sam's and Zee's reaction at Tom 's #2. I totally felt the same, alternate reality.
But the "is like a tank, but a tank that is ranged".... that must be something special Tom 🙊🤣
Really really enjoyed this top 100. Two and half dice towers up! I know it is a lot of work but I hope you guys do it again next year.
This is a bigger upset than the time when (insert some sports reference I don't really know about because I'm bad and unknowledgeable with sports)!!! Thanks to you three for putting in all the effort, and the Brothers Murph were a great addition to the list. Number 7 Title Card cracked me up so hard.
Somewhere along the line you stopped doing the shot of the game being talked about, setup on the table. While its making me look up all your reviews (clever!) it was a really great part of these long videos.
John Feltham agreed, I always thought they could make more of showing the game layer out, like some video clips. Big mistake to take it out entirely as it’s so much harder to get a picture of the game.
This format with the three of you interacting is the best way i have seen a top ten presented. Please continue doing it. Also Brothers Murph are awesome.
I came back to watch this for my next game purchase idea. Forgot this was the year Tom changed his #1. Zee’s reaction is great when Tom announces his #2 game.
Human sacrifice, dogs and cats living together... mass hysteria!
Are you the Key Master ?
I just got back from Essen and I was lucky enough to meet you all. Hope you guys had And epic time at Essen.
Every time I see Onirim in a top list, a vein pops in my head...
Yeah, you guys are so much fun to watch. Thanks for what you do.
Amazing work my friends
i bought Cosmic Encounter based on your (repeated and enthusiastic!) recommendation, Tom. i agree: it's a GREAT game. i haven't laughed as hard playing a board game as i have with that one. The problem is that serious-faced, stick-in-the-mud eurogamers absolutely refuse to play it with me. If i so much as mention it at a conference, i get *profound* reactions from people. They absolutely hate it! i really like it... i just wish i could play it more!
Hey, Brothers Murph! Comedy. Gold... also surprise twist at the end... wow, that number 1
Just preordered Twilight Imperium 4E. Looking forward to giving it a try
I hope you DO stick with this format, much prefer it to the separate lists. Great to have you guys all banting off each other 🙃
Love the tip 10 and the top 100 list is also great , the three different opinions is great for a good cross section of gamers. Love Blood Rage and Onirim is absolutely my favourite Solo game both the card game and the app. It’s quick challenging and fun. Thanks for all the advice guys .
The brothers are hilarious! They should do all your top ten lists!
I played Tournament at Camelot. Only got to play 2 hands of it. Loved it!!!!!!!!
Waiting on my copy of Gloomhaven 2nd edition. Hoping it's not damaged like some of the horror stories on Kickstarter!
The new edition box is improved
if the contents are protected, the box has done its job
I wasn't referring to the box. People have had issues with improperly printed, uncut and poorly glued components.
I got one and everything is great as far as I can tell. I haven't actually played it yet.
Great lists.
Hope Tom reconsiders not doing it this way next year, by far the most fun format for the Top 100 imo.
John Byrne Did he already say it won't be this way next year???
Deception is one of my favorite games too and I like the art. I love the realism.
I absolutely love the theme, and cards, and most of the play in Onirim, but...digging through the deck for the doors and repeated shuffling, I feel like that's almost all I'm doing. And when I sit down for a table game, I don't want to use apps. It's still on my shelf, and I'm still trying to get past my extreme dislike of the deck stuff because I love everything else about the game. Pandemic wouldn't be my top one, but it is definitely in my top ten. Great list, guys!
Mikolaj Witkowski, no, I had not heard of it. Watched a video on it, and it looks really interesting! Thanks for the suggestion!
What about when you want to play a board game but can't sit down at a table? Enjoy the Pandemic app, for example?
Onirim is not bad on iOS if you can get it cheap. I got it on sale for $.99 (or maybe that’s regular price?) no shuffling! I disagree with Zee about the base game being good enough. I very quickly got to a score that can only be beaten by sheer luck. Guess it’s time to try expansions.
jrgainey Onirim iOS has been free to play since May. I have only poked around in the app and haven't played full games so I'm not sure what is behind the paywall besides expansions for $1 each, and the first one is free for registering an Asmodee account.
Tom wears a hat because he feels bad about having hair 😂
PS I am balding myself lol. Great video, guys!
I love the absolute shock on Tom's face!
Glad to see Tom finally has a new #1. Nice.
zee should make a top 10 pandemic games
He just did:
1. Pandemic Legacy
2. Pandemic
3. Pandemic Iberia
4. Pandemic Cthulhu
5. Pandemic the Cure
6. Pandemic Contagion
Surely he's got 10
Of those
I indeed bought Onirim thanks to Zee's evangelizing it, and it is such a phenomenal little game. Play a fifteen minute game, shuffle in a different expansion or two, go again, and again, and again.
As for the ones, Pandemic is one of my favorites, Blood Rage is excellent but I haven't played it as much as I'd like, and Gloomhaven... well, it's virtually unobtainable at this point. Someday maybe I'll play that thing.
Zee, "Le Havre" is the name of a coastal city in France. It also "happens to be" the busiest container port of France. That's why the name "Le Havre" is kept in the English translation.
I some times like Tom's opinion on some games... (I think I agree with him on FCM) ... but ... listening to this top-10 really illustrates how wildly different parts of board gaming is.
I don't share a single game with these guys.
dang it, Barry. Great video guys.
The number 4 intro (pandemic skit) I really really liked.
Love the Brothers Murph! Love noisy airplanes and trash pick up. Love Le Havre rants. Love.
Really surprised to not see Aeon's End on here. You guys were super excited about it in the review when it first came out and it's a fantastic game.
Hey guys! Great stuff. Please consider adding a "still in print" or "out of print" notice to your graphics. Folks newer to the hobby/obsession would really benefit from knowing if it's available everywhere or hard to find in the used marketplace. Thanks again!
The Day the (Board Game) Earth Stood Still
I love that both Sam and Tom have had major changes in their top 10 over the last few years. Hearing them years ago saying #1 will never change and seeing them get that excited over a new one is refreshing. Not that Zee sticking with His tried and true is a problem, but even his #2 was a big change.
Magic PC games also had similar puzzles in there, where you had to find out how to win in a few turns. Really challenging.
We found Carmen Sandiego!
lmao. I get it
lol thank you
Literally the first thing I thought of when the video started.
I love the Brothers Murph segments!
Wow! Sam's #10 is a trick taking game? It's time for Tom and Zee to start looking for the pod... maybe in the shed?
Tom's face, when he hears Zee's #2 (54:01) is perfection.
That would be a nice challenge for yourself, play live all of you guy's top 100 throughout the year
I played my very first scenario of Arcadia Quest.. omg it's just like you said. we smacked each other around like the Orcs didn't even exist. and we didn't even do it for a quest, one player was just blocking the way so the other had to nova beam him to death.. haha, this game is silly fun times 10. I can't wait to get to the last mission.
LeHavre is a city on France and it harbors (pun intended) one of the biggest harbors in France. I guess that would be a fair point for the game's name
This is the best way to do the top 100
I've only played Rebellion 4 player. I did the same with a lot of these 2 or 4 player game and I really enjoy them that way.
Still playing DiceMasters weekly in Nashville :) Still, so fun!
Nice, that was one of the most enjoyable lists ever! I mean the lists, as for the numbering bits they were a bit long and jarring and skipping them made me lose the reveal of the next number. The lists themselves were actually quite a bit more surprising than I thought and I was happy to see that two games I went all in on based on your reviews/recommendations outlived "the hotness" curse. I've gotta' ask now though Sam, as much as you enjoy space games have you ever *tried* Galaxy Defenders? I agree about Gloomhaven. I doubt it will still be number one next go, but we'll see! Thanks again! Anyone wanna' recommend a couple of good Neuroshima Hex 3.0 Armies? :)
Oh my goodness, what was that I just saw before number 10!?
Never would've thought Tom & Sam would've had their top games dethroned for new ones!
So happy to see Neuroshima Hex right here!!! What a good game for anyone should try it !
Tom's face (smile) at 57:50 may be my favorite The Dice Tower moment of all time.
@47:33: Hey gang, really enjoy the video! :) @47:33, Hey Zee, Rosenberg's game Le Havre, Tom's fave euro, is named after Le Havre, a city in Normandy, France! So the game isn't trying to be "snooty on purpose" lol! :)
I expected Gloomhaven to be in Tom's top 10, but I never expected this. And solo? Welcome to my world Tom.
WE WANT THIS FORMAT FOREVER
