Wait, wait, wait! V's joke at 9:47 needs to be recognized for its comedic genius and timing. Bravo! Although, I guess I can only say that because I'm also a black woman and the way Nicole pronounced "schnitzel" for me, too, sounds like my cousin. 😂
As a German i got deeply offended when she said her Schnitzel, with the funny pronounciation, is better than my Grandmas was. No one beat my Grandma when it came to Schnitzel.
And to be honest, the tomato ketchup with Schnitzel is a flat out Warcrime 🤣

I would absolutely love for Mythical Kitchen to talk a little bit about the amount of time prep/mise en place takes for recipes like this. Things that cook in under 15m from prepped are great, and I love this series, but it's also great to have an idea how long it *really* takes from absolute zero (everything still in cabinets/fridge, nothing measured out).
I know those numbers would be rough estimates since your prep situation is very different from a home kitchen, but it would still be nice to have it acknowledged whenever talking about how long recipes take on the channel!
Don't be surprised if any of these recipes takes you an hour to do from start to beginning. Just heating up the oil can take 10 minutes in a heavy cast iron pan.
Starting with boiling water, by definition, makes this not a 15 minute recipe. All the other prep too. I wouldn’t mind if Josh hadn’t said that they just had dishes washed and stuff. They had so much more done beforehand.
I kept waiting for Emily to come out and demand to know why Josh is taking her job.

I know josh is probably joking but "play this video and just kinda mimic the movements we do" pretty much describes how Mythical Kitchen videos helped me get so much better at cooking during quarantine!
The thing that stood out the most to me was Nicole saying 'big chungus pieces' and I know for a fact she got that from Trevor. There is no way he hasn't exposed them to that.
Trevor exposing them to his big chungas is an HR nightmare.
You should make college dishes using cheap items and also use college cooking techniques in 15 min

The barrier that keeps me from deep-frying at home is just having to deal with the oil afterward. It either has to be cleaned and stored in some fashion (which just feels yucky) or allowed to solidify, stuffed into something like tin foil or something, and then stuck in the trash. I hate cleanup in general, but cleaning up after some deep frying just seems like an incredible pain.
I have gallons of used cooking oil in my cabinet cause I don’t know what to do with it and I don’t wanna just toss it 😂😂😂
my issue is the smell afterwards and the tiny oily spots everywhere. And I just use the leftover oil in half with with regular oil in stewy/ pressure cooking things like where i won't be stir frying .
You can use an oil solidifier like FryAway to make cleaning up easier.
Just let it cool down a bit then pour it into your trash
Put tinfoil around your fist to form a bowl, put it into your drain (make sure there are no rips). Pour in oil, add icecubs until solid. Take the whole thing out and fold tinfoil up. Voila.

@@mercedesvelasquez8781I've done this my whole life and never even knew people think it's weird to eat the skin 🤷🏼♂️ peeling a kiwi seems like more trouble than it's worth, plus then they're wet and sticky instead of nicely handheld.
Have you ever had a SunGold kiwi? They make the green kiwi skin seem like it's made out of leather in comparison.
@@toolbaggers I haven't, but I just saw a So Expensive video about them. The green variety is easily one of my favorite fruits, but I haven't seen the SunGolds where I live... or at least I haven't looked for them yet

Chicken schnitzel is like a staple dish of every Jewish household. My moroccan grandma learned how to make it in Israel cause they had a lot of eastern european neighbors im their apartment complex, and my mom learned from her, and its still to this day like one of my favorite things ever.

Two pro chefs who vamp for the camera, have an ad read, and doing an interpretive dance to figure out how to cut scallions, and have a one-sided argument. So maybe just half an hour.
It's like those Hello Fresh meals that claim it's only takes like 20 mins 🤔 yeah, NO, triple that time for me and sure, it's pre-measured and portioned out, but they didn't take ADD or OCD into account 😩😅 oh well 😂 we got there eventually 😂
@@bubbledoubletrouble 2 pro chefs where 1 of them is the creator of the dish with everything already setup on the counter with heavy cast iron pan with oil already pre-heated. They already knew it was a lie hence the QUESTION MARK in "15 minutes?" of the thumbnail.

06:45 - I don't deep fry at home because I don't know what to do with all the oil. I was raised by wolves and never learned basic stuff like the best way to dispose of cooking oil, or how it can be reused, or how long it lasts, etc ...
I always learned that you can just put it in an empty bottle or jar and reuse it to deep fry again a few times. Wait for it to cool and filter/strain out any food leftovers, and just use it untill it becomes very dark and dirty :)
Once it looks gross, I pour it back in the bottles and my husband trashes it to the dump, where it gets recycled. You can also buy an absorbent that will congeal it and make it solid for the garbage
You can reuse it between 4 to 8 times depending on how "dirty" the food is! Breaded and floured food is dirty, plain potatoes and most frozen stuff is clean. Personally I have a wok that I use for deep frying and I just store it as is in the oven and change the oil as described.
You can also wait for it to cool down and pour it into a separate bottle and reuse it that way. 😊
Wolves would eat the oil. Reuse the oil in other dishes.

Soggy waffle was actually my wii username and we’d all play wii as a family during thanksgiving with the whole family and ever since a kid my uncle as since called me soggywaffles as my name at every family event I see him now 😂

Just wash it first, it'll remove most of the hair. Then just bite straight into it (I usually remove the little knob).
RAW orange and banana peels, watermelon rinds and onion skins are also edible. Yummy! 😎

Josh went from Southern Belle to old Greg at one point and I'm not mad about it
For waffles:
In a medium mixing bowl, whisk well to combine flour, cornmeal, baking powder, and kosher salt.
In a separate bowl, separate egg whites from their yolks. Set whites aside. Whisk yolks, buttermilk, and browned butter together until homogeneous.
Add the wet mixture to the dry mixture and whisk vigorously until no lumps remain. *include 5-10 drops of blue food coloring.
Using a hand mixer, whip egg whites to stiff peaks.
Make sure there are no lumps in the initial batter and then fold in the whipped egg whites until fully incorporated. Be careful to not over mix.
Generously spray non-stick spray onto preheated waffle iron. Pour about ¾ cup of the waffle batter to cover the iron. Jam it down and allow to cook for about 5 minutes.
Crack open the waffle iron once the waffle is done. Slice into quarters and arrange decoratively on a plate to impress any brunch guests (or just yourself). Hit it with a dollop of the browned butter and generous drizzle of the caramel sauce. Top with smoked sea salt and enjoy.
Don't use kosher salt if you don't need to.

I was at rubfest in reno over the weekend and noticed two men with a nice outfit. I gave them a look from bottom to top, admiring their outfits, and when i got to their faces i realized one of them was mythical chef Josh LMAO. He seemed to be having a good time with his friend so i left him alone. Hi now though, hope you had some good food and a great time.

I used those sized bags to sous vide a big tri-tip once, you just can’t submerge the top since it’s a slide top,8 just clip it to the side
I made fried chicken last night as a matter of fact. All I had to do was take the chicken out, dunk it in eggs/flour, cut up some potatoes and carrots, roast them in the oven and fry the chicken. 3 food items, simple as it gets. How long did it take to make this though? Probably at least an hour because I’m a normal person and I don’t have anyone to do all the prep work for me. The chicken was pretty great though
Easy 15-minute recipe with minimal clean-up! Starts with 10 different bowls and one of the 2 chefs hammering meat for the first 5 minutes. I'll have to give this a try next weekend 😂

Sarcastic comment? 2 pro-chefs (one as the creator of the dish,) pre-heated oil in a heavy cast iron pan, 10 different bowls already set-up = 1 hour for one person from scratch. This is excluding clean-up wich would easily take another 15 minutes (you're not gonna use a dishwasher for 1 meal right?)
