I love Josh and Trevor cause individually they're wicked smart, but then you put them together and they become two halves of a whole idiot
🤣🤣🤣
2 HALVES OF 1 WHOLE IDIOT!
I think I've just read the perfect UA-cam comment.
Lolol
wicked smaaht
I never thought I'd write a comment like this about a cooking show, but this episode had the perfect balance of open discussions of cryptid fetishism, 90s economics, generational angst, and gas.
There’s also a “will they? Won’t they?” element to it.
I might be projecting….
(Edit: Projecting indeed... But seriously they have good chemistry on cam - funny duo )
Don’t forget puddles of Diet Pepsi.
@@j.j.r.6075 you are 😌
That sounds like something Stephan would say on SNL. 😄
@@maenad1231 Yeah I'm not being entirely serious. They're great to watch on cam tho, very entertaining
In 1958, two brothers borrowed $600 from their mom to open a pizza place in Wichita, Kansas. They named it Pizza Hut, because their sign only had room for eight letters.
Thank you
Wish I could start a brick and mortar with $600 lol, wild how inflation and just general cost of living has gotten so wild...
Keith???
@@samuelwilsonlassalle in fairness $600 back then was like $6,300 so not unbelievable as a down payment on a loan
ive walked by the place while doing university tours it is seriously absolutely tiny. located on wsu campus and it’s not even a functional pizza hut

Trevor: *Burns self* "I'm never cooking again!"
Josh "Yeah, probably for the best."
Trevor: *shocked Pikachu*
If I saw a place called "Clam Townhouse" I would absolutely assume it's a brothel.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I worked for pizza hut during the pizza Mia days. The sauce was just the same recipe, but add twice the water. It was... an idea.
Oh my
i was in first grade when pizza mia was a thing, but i still have the most vivid and pleasant memory of it
i always KNEW there was something different. didn't care because I was broke, but i knew it. ...was the dough any different somehow?
@@ChiefMoonChunks it was a different dough. When I worked there, all the dough came frozen so I'm not sure.
@@michaelhill8645 You the real MVP for this
Gosh. I remember Trevor's first episode with Josh. It was a mix of Josh's chaotic energy and Trevor's timidity.
Now, both of them are chaos incarnate and I am all for it.
As someone who’s recovering from an ED, this is my comfort show. I watch these old videos and old snack smash when I have a hard time eating. Your joy about the food, no negativity, just fun, really makes it easier for me to eat. Thank you ❤
It is good to see trevor back on the show. Also the line "trevor is looking at me like a horny goat" almost got me to spit out my water, i was not expecting that.
The ending really took me back to childhood birthday parties at pizza places. Pizza, soda and utter chaos.
I went here for my 18th birthday party. I had three of my friends there. It was really lame.
man Josh and Trevor are consistently an amazing combination. The Big/Little Brother vibes are immaculate
Right? They’re so chaotic together in the perfect way
Definitely not the vibe I got. I come looking to relive a moment in my childhood and I get all the homosexuality of a college dorm room. No thanks. You lost me.

josh healing his inner child through food is perfect. we love this
Safely to say, we, indonesian has not robbed our youth from the chance to experience pizza hut salad bar, and we have this pizza we called "Limo Pizza" which is a 1 meter long pizza with 3 choice of topping, so yeah, viva pizza hut
LMAO @ Limo pizza! Genius! LOL
oh wow we also have Limo Pizza in vietnam what were the odds
Having worked at a local Hut back in high school you had entirely too little oil in your pan. You needed about 3-4 condiment pumps of oil in that pan as a regular large was 2-3
as a manager working at the hut currently, I agree
How much is a 'pump'?
They don't have Pizza Hut implements. Pizza Hut is nasty.
@@bcaye Pizza hut is nasty if the people there make it nasty. I'm not sure what amount 1 pump is. I'll check it later
@@jordandonnelly7352, I have lived all over the western US. I have never eaten Pizza Hut that was not awful. Why even go there, you ask? Not everyone agrees with me. My ex loved the AYCE buffet. I would just have salad and maybe a little pathetic pasta. Some people value quantity over quality.
This is true the amount of oil in these pans were obscene. I remember I delivered pizzas in high school and it was not nearly as fun as you’d think. Your car always smelled like greasy stale pizza. Not a good smell
I thought Josh's chugging was crazy, but then Trevor chugged and put Josh to shame. They are life partners.
when Trevor and Josh are together things always turns rapidly to awkward, weird and extremely creepy ...... I LOVE IT :D
I remember going to Pizza Hut, getting like a plate full of garlic bread with cheese and getting my greasy garlicy child fingers all over the Simpsons arcade machine. I always played Bart, despite not liking Bart, just because I thought he moved faster than everyone else because of his skateboard... he does not.
Also my favorite cryptid is the Flatwood's Monster.
So who moved faster than Bart?
My favorite cryptid is Fleetwood's Mac
@@cathykimball5907 They all moved at the same speed
Ah, it was the life
im a really big fan of the fresno nightcrawler. hes just a little guy. i will however now be researching Flatwoods monster
I don’t think josh has any idea how much inner child healing he does with these kinds of episodes I love seeing it🥰
You'd think Trevor would already be used to Josh's antics after working with him for so long, but he's constantly cracking up when he's around him and I think that's great.
You know what I miss? When pizza hut was an actual restaurant. You'd go in and actually have to wait to be seated. I have so many memories from the hut. It was right by my highschool and I was a stoner and back in the 90's a personal pan pizza was $2.11.
💜
"When Dan and Frank Carney started a pizza restaurant in 1958 in Wichita, Kansas, they didn’t know what to call it. The local Coca-Cola distributor provided a complimentary small outside sign that was wide at the top and tapered down at the bottom. There was room for only five letters on the top line and three letters on the bottom line. “Pizza” obviously had to be on top. But Pizza what? Pizza Pad? Pizza Inn? Pizza Pan? Pizza Jug? Dan’s wife, Beverly, mentioned that she thought the building looked like a hut. The decision was made. The name of the pizzeria would be Pizza Hut."

Wicked *smaht
"Past Foods" gives me some seriously intense nostalgia. What a great series.
As usual, with Trevor and Josh, a combination of Cooking Show and frat bros. Great flashback to the '90s.
If Mythical Kitchen is usually a gag reel, this episode is the gag reel of the gag reel...in the best way possible lmao

This was a fantastic episode. I feel truly old in the best way right now. Hahahahaha.
Also…. I’m pretty sure it’s Fuddruckers. At least that’s what it’s always been here in Texas.
I also immediately thought of Fuddruckers (RIP)
@@lizh1167 fuddruckers is still around in Texas!
@@adamrash5474 they closed the one in College Station tho and that's where I live
I thought that too, but no, Fudpucker’s is actually a thing. Gators and all.
There's a Fuddruckers in the next town over from me (Northern California). It opened about 10 years ago or so.
I worked at Pizza Hut back in the day, when the bigfoot was on the menu (as it was phasing out). Those might be the their toppings now, but I can promise you those were not their toppings back then. The bell pepper was diced, and it came packaged, maybe even frozen. The pepperoni was smaller and the crumble on sausage was tiny compared to what is in the bowl. Also, there was no dipping sauce. You could get the tomato sauce, or one of the salad dressings in little plastic cup.
If you really want to remake a great pizza, make the Pizza Hut Chunky style from 1993.
No one cares.
@@bcaye why are you commenting negative things under everyone’s comments talking about pizza hut? i found this comment very interesting and your criticism is very much unnecessary and flat out rude
I loved the chunky style. even when they brought it back in the early nauties under a diff name. that sauce and crust were so good.
@@bcaye loser comment from a complete nobody, keep it up champ
Trevor laughs at every joke as if it’s the first joke he has ever heard.
I LOVE how much Trevor has come into his own on this show! Y'all play off of each other so well! (Was this Trevor's first time trying edibles???)
Josh holding his cup with both hands reminds me of a little kid lol the only thing he missed was gasping for air after drinking for so long😂 also loved the talk of cryptids
Thank you Trevor for making the joke that came to my brain about docking, I’m glad to know I’m not alone 😂😂😂
I remember having the Bigfoot pizza for my 5th grade pizza party. This was indeed a blast from the past
21:01 Love how the pizza is essentially packaged in a shirt box lol
@Chris Sunberg No it's more like some fancier stores back in the day they would pack the shirts in boxes like that. Also, when you wrap clothes for the holidays often you might put them in shirt boxes. Makes them easier to wrap and looks better than putting them in empty cereal boxes or something like that lol
This channel is weird, right, because I definitely have learned stuff that has improved my cooking skills; HOWEVER, this right here is the type of energy and content that keeps me coming back for more.
As a kid I had this exactly once. I distinctly remember saying "It's like bigfoot stepped on it" It was awful lolol
Seems like it goes further off the rails every episode… I love it 😂
trevor and josh giggling uncontrollably at the end of the video made my day
I've misssed these two by themselves 🤣 had me in stitches
I remember getting that quite often. With the prices at Pizza Hut today, that thing would probably be $25-$30.
The Bigfoot pizza did in fact have a sour finish to the crust. I only had it a couple times at birthday parties, but I remember that it tasted different.
Yea, I remember it tasted different too. I loved it!!
Weird. I worked at Pizza Hut when this was big. It was exactly the same crust and toppings.
Might be because the oil just hit the square pans different, because the ingredients were the same.
Trevor just unlocked a deep Kim Possible memory in my head with that restaurant gator pit story. It's interesting looking back on all the childhood cartoons and all the references I didn't get because I didn't know any American stereotypes and just thought that her grandma lived in Florida and there happened to be alligators and a swamp at that place, nothing to do with anything, just villains being villains.
I absolutely love Trevers laugh and smile. Makes me happy.
I don't know how this episode will go but I'm here for it.
Have you met them?
It’s gonna go sideways, with smoke pouring out from the hood and most of a fruit cart plastered to it.
@@dougjb7848 ACCURATE
Josh has ascended to God status for the perfect Nicholas Cage quote from Gone in 60 Seconds
“I’m a little tired!
I’m a little wired!”
Thank you for identifying that, I could not place it for the life of me
Fun fact: wendigo is not a cryptid, they are part of the active spiritual belief of a native tribe who specifically don't want people to talk about them.
Aaaaah, Haley Joel Osment was even tinier than I was prepared for. Adorable. People always talk about him in Sixth Sense but nobody ever talks about his equally amazing performance in AI. More people should watch this wonderful movie. Please. edit: I wrote this before I got to the part where Trevor said it was his favourite HJO movie. Nice.
In 2003 Pizza Hut made a pulled pork pizza that was really good. I recall the one time I managed to get one while it existed. I ate an entire pizza in the span of 12 hours. (For me that's a lot and a claim to how impressively good it was and how it needs to be brought back.)
Yeah I remember that one. It had BBQ sauce as a base instead of marinara sauce. I hated making it because of the way it felt to tear apart clumps of shredded pork from the rest of it in the tub and slap it on the pizza in little piles.
Pizza Hut was such a nostalgic place for me growing up. Pizza and breadsticks 🥹❤️ Also, the Rhode Island shoutout! Also also, Galilee is where you want to go for clams in Rhode Island 😉 Clam cakes and chowder, baby!
I never thought I would hear him utter the words "Rhode Island". Also, Iggy's!
@@alexanderbreault4680 I always went to George’s more but Iggy’s is also 👌🏻
Had the Big Foot but don’t remember it. What really slapped was those personal pan pizzas you got for Book-It rewards and the dessert pizza at the buffet. Canned pie filling with strudel topping and cream cheese icing drizzle. Heaven.
I loved these as a kid. I would stay with my great-grandmother on weekends when my mom had to work, and she would always get us one, and we would do puzzled and play cards/board-games all weekend. She passed away a few years later, but those weekends and the Bigfoot are something ill remember forever.
Yeah! I love the Past Food series!!
Can you do Olive Garden's Pork Tortellini sometime?
Pizza Hut had a truely amazing salad bar. The one in my town lasted longer then other locations, but covid finished it off for good.
Do you happen to remember when Wendy's had the "hotbar"? Tacos, spaghetti, salad bar, chili, etcetera...it was wonderful!
@@annabagwell7965 Afraid not, but it does sound tasty.
Yup, they used to have garlic bread made from leftover hamburger buns. It was a carb lovers dream come true.
I was not allowed to go to Pizza Hut for most of my childhood because I had a temper tantrum there once and my mother, perhaps misunderstanding the concept of correlation vs causation, figured The Hut must have given me temporary behavioral issues. So this is a fascinating glimpse into a world alien to me
We had a Pizza Shed in the town I grew up in. They saw Pizza Hut and decided to be even more small-town-ish.
Dover Demon was also thought to be an animal with mange.
As a former Pizza Hut employee, these were the absolute bane of my existence. The pans were unwieldy and a pain in the butt to wash at the end of the night.
I feel your big dishwashing frustration!!!
I worked the line when these were out.
They slowed down EVERYTHING. You'd have a half dozen pizzas on order, but would need to wait for the f***er that ordered the Bigfoot to get out of the conveyer-belt oven before you could cook the other 5.
They _wayyyyyyyy_ under-did the amount of pepperoni on this.
A friggin medium had 40 pepperoni.
Pizza hut still has a salad bar. Here in Akron Ohio. Love you guys💗💗💗
Josh drinking the Pepsi like a gremlin while Trevor falls apart, absolute perfection
Josh's ability to recall obscure childhood information is just frightening, lol.
Please recreate the Pizza Hut Big New Yorker from the early 2000's. The sauce, dough, and size were different from their other pizzas at the time.
I’m glad I’m not the only one that remembers this!
I remember making that pizza. It had a sweet sauce and a chewy dough. And something like 60 pepperonis we had to count out as we placed them.
Thank you, Mythical Kitchen, for really appreciating Florida's beautiful qualities. Like the skunk apes. Though I was always taught they smell like rotting garbage mixed with an oddly sweet aroma of flowers that makes the overall scent no less repulsive.
Beauty and Grace all in one episode of Mythical Kitchen. Ben at the end with the red cups had me dying
There is a small pizza franchise called Fox's Pizza Den where you can order a Big Daddy Pizza. It is 12" x 24". I worked at one while in college. It's still one of my favorite Pizza places and I drive a few hours to get a fix every year or so. Some locations also have a 24" x 24" called The Big One. I never had the pleasure of making that one.
Weird when one of my lifelong hobbies crosses paths with a cooking show. I've been a casually dedicated follower of Cryptozoology for as long as I remember, so this episode hits close to home. Well done you guys.
I have a story about an animal here in Wisconsin that might be labeled a cryptid if you'd like to hear it.
so I'm interested, in the cryptozoology community how do they square the fact that now 90+% of the population have HD cameras in their pockets with the fact that the number of sightings of cryptids haven't gone up and if anything have decreased?
@@mikellanas1207 please do
@@Dream146 The reason YOU haven't been hearing about sightings, is because you haven't been searching. And I'm not talking about looking online. I'm talking about real ground work. Finding people, working together to analyze evidence FIRST HAND. Pretty much everything on the internet has been falsified. You can't walk a half a mile in Nevada without finding someone with UNBELIEVABLE evidence. And don't even get me started on areas like Appalachia, and Louisiana. It's not hard to find, you're just looking in the wrong places.
I always come into these expecting chaos and yet they exceed expectations every time 😭
This was a classic, I remember spending the night at my grandmother' with all my cousins over watching classic horror movies like Jaws, Chucky Nightmare on Elm...all while enjoying the BIGFOOT pizza. I miss being a kid.
I never had a Bigfoot Pizza from any of the nearby Pizza Huts growing up, but I absolutely had a few P'zones when they were around! I was surprised to see how long the P'zone lasted in comparison to other Pizza Hut offerings, especially considering the $5-7 price point for its surprisingly large size at the time depending on which Hut in NYC you actually got it from.
I EFFING love you guys. I feel ok speaking for a lot of people to say that this channel/mythical keeps my boat afloat. So much joy.
@Chris Sunberg well I'm glad you're here. Don't forget, it always gets better.

Deadass, my bf and I rewatch Josh and Trevor episodes because of what we've dubbed "big stoned favourite cousins at Thanksgiving vibes"
I would love to see the 4 alarm spicy chicken sandwich from Wendy's. This was in the early 2000s. It was my favorite then they discontinued it. 🙏 🙏 🙏
Or Wendy's from the 90s had a chicken Ceasar wrap but it was on a Flatbread
The ending was just chaos 😂❤️
I loved this. I needed a good laugh and dose of nostalgia. I adored Pizza Hut when I was a kid. Although I grew up in the 80s. Well I was a teenager in the early 90s. Josh and Trevor make a good team. I love when they make each other laugh. I don't know why but the way Josh was drinking the Pepsi made me crack up. I used to drink milk like that when I was a kid. This episode made me so happy.
I think when this came out I convinced my parents to buy it. My dad ended up bringing it home and did a carry out with it as a surprise. It was pretty big and I remember how happy I was and shocked that he had actually bought it. It was only the one time we ever bought it. I dont remember anything else about the pizza.
If this pizza were remade, ask your local pizza hut if they still have any "Big Italy" pans in storage. If they dont know what those are, just say the giant brownie sheet pan no one knows what its used for🤣

We had the Mia pizzas when my parents wanted to seem like they paid more money for pizza instead of going to little ceasers. I always found that the pizza dough was so sweet and had so much sugar.

Just a reminder that this pizza was launched by Reggie Fils-Aime. Yes. That one.
My parents got me this thing once because I wouldn't shut up about it and it was awesome! Since then I've had other square pizza but its not the same
Josh with the 4 year old two handed cup grip absolutely took me out LOL

The UK still have the Pizza Hut salad buffet!
Just when I thought they weren't getting along, the ending blows away the concerns. Everyone should laugh that hard when they can.
I worked at a Pizza Hut in a small college town (when I was in college) in 2006 and they had a pizza buffet and salad bar then. I checked and they still do dine in, but they don't have a salad bar anymore. I'm not sure when they got rid of it, but being that it's a small town, I can't imagine it wasn't too long ago. The one other pizza place in the town does have a pizza buffet an salad bar though.
If you truly want the 'pizza mia' experience got to Little Caesars and get a $5 pizza. They stole the concept and turned it into a business plan.
I am old enough to remeber when Little Caesars had a full menu as extensive as Pizza Hut or the other chains.
When LC opened in my home town in the … early 90s? … it was an *event.*
Little Caeser’s was an must post game stop for all my sports that I played in.
It's hot and it's ready.... but is it good? It is hot and it's ready
LC is more cardboardy than Pizza Mias were. I do enjoy their wings though.
The Hot & Ready pizzas cost $8 where I live.

So basically what he does literally every time he is on camera?
@Erik Hatzenbuehler well I don't think he's being fake, perhaps he's just a little awkward on camera... Especially around Josh. That's what I noticed at least
