Don’t like how important buttons like the exhaust brake are within the radio now. What if the screen fails?
Wish you could opt for the 8.4 inch screen in all the trim levels. Hopefully, manufacturers will learn with time that dedicated physical controls is a safety thing.
New cummins and that ZF Transmission means best hands down ❤
True story.
What?!....Jill is going to love the adjustable pedals and ventilated phone charger. Plus the mirror tech.
I love that red on a 2500 longhorn
Great video, Tim. I love those Rams.
What *_is_* revolutionary though is the new transmission and the engine reliability and performance upgrades.
the front end really looks cool ngl it would be funny if someone says its the same look
Great film sir Tim
Any word on the Power Wagon?
Good question. You are right it wasn’t there. I just checked the press release and nothing was mentioned for this trim.
Ram should name that new red, Ciminillo Red. It just fits.
Nice trucks, but the prices suck. I’ll keep my 2021 Bighorn diesel, works just fine!
Coping mechanism.
Hard to improve on sothing that is by far the best, best diesel (by far) now along with a proven best HD transmission in the segment along with a proven chassis is all wins. People will complain about the numbers but facts are these trucks will tow more than 99.9% people ever use them for!!!
Fire Hydrant Red
Five Alarm Red
or to be silly
Clifford Dog Red 😂
That is Danny McGrath Red!
Is the manual 4x4 shifter gone for the tradesman?
All automatics from my understanding.
Same cab same bed same power basically same towing same payload. But hey Tim attest the interior is pretty
LESS POWER with the 6.4, they "lost" 5hp from 2024 to 2025. I know this engine is a complete "who cares" for many of the diesel only crowd but we have no need nor want for the diesel, I DO acknowledge how powerful and cool they are TBF, but lowering the HP, even though small, is a step in the wrong direction for the gasser.
The lighting and interior options now available for the 2025 tradesman are really great though!
I would look at this truth just because it has a column shifter and GAUGES!! :D
At least they kept the Cummins I guess
Big miss on Ram’s part on the lighting in this building. You’d think they would want to show their product in a good light.😂
They need to turn the hd guys loose on the 1500's.... Did they say anything about the 6.7 Octane?
No.
I vote theres too many skinny pants fancy shoe sweater over button up people doing design. Make it look nice on the outside, every headlight should be LED, comfortable seat with a headrest not like a f150 that jacks your head forward, always comes with a 5th wheel and rubber floors. Just think...weathertech makes full coverage liners to nearly cover the carpet from getting ruined. People use your head on everything you think you need.
Was hoping they would be the first in the hd with center counsel shifter.
Minus the counsel and plus a clutch.
What about the gas engine?
It still ticks
Nothing new.
Like the new 6.7 design, but that new grill is just 🤮
Gotta say, other than the digital cluster. Identical to my 2022 ram 5500 laramie. Not overly impressive for a re-design year. Not to mention 20k more than i paid in 2022. Thinkin ill keep my 22 until it reaches the 160k warranty.
Lack of physical buttons is bad idea
No it’s not.
Major miss IMO and I've been a Ram guy since I was 16. I need to see something new...larger bed, longer wheelbase, larger cab, telescopic steering, an off road pkg on the 3500s, better bed accessibility. The 2024 Ram HD feels like and drives like a truck from 2014. The GM and Ford drive like a truck from 2024. I'm eager to drive a 2025 Cummins before I ordered my 2500 ZR2.
Kinda think they didn't want to change too much in one go so they're doing their big changes w/ engine and transmission now and will be doing the cab changes in 2-3 years. Kind of lines up with some stuff I've read about when they plan to make their changes.
100% agree tho that they do need to get that updated soon. The crew cabs are cramped compared to Ford and GM, and while the Mega Cab does make up for it, it loses in the fact you can't get the longer bed. I think they'll do right, I also think it'll take two or three years and will maybe line up with a 7.2 Cummins?
@@ethanlegler6403same thing I read as well. I also agree with you I’m willing to test drive the new Cummins before I put in an order on a new GM HD
Longer wheelbase means worse maneuverability. Ram HDs have a big advantage in that regard. I can see wanting the bigger cab but I don't need a longer standard bed. Adding 10 inches to the wheelbase like the GM trucks have means harder maneuvering in parking spots and longer turning radius.
Bigger? How big do you want these trucks to get?
@@darrelltrammel1623I know right. People in modern society are getting ridiculous with what they want and perceive as being better. Give me the best engine and the best transmission that’s going to get the job done. People want their trucks to drive like cars and not like trucks. People like this are ruining the truck market. The original intent for the truck is to move weight effortlessly.
Yeah, because god forbid they call it ......RED. Everybody has got to have all these crazy descriptors in front of the color.
Too many of you people are concerned with "power numbers" or the greatest load capacity. Even the 2500 10k lb raiting. Look. You shouldn't be towing over 15k with a 2500 anyway. The hemi with 4.10s and a mega cab is raited for 18,600. I've towed 14,500 with that setup, and it's done well. Haul hay, horses, farm stuff all the time. They did an update to that moter in 19 that was very quiet. It's forged internals and shares parts with the demon. There is a guy that has a fleet of 5 to 6 hotshots running this setup with a 3500. They're pulling 16-18k all miles turned. He's getting 350-450k miles out of all of them before they need things. Fords gas 7.3 is trash. It's okay of you just use it pill your boat or something. But when under constant load They're getting 60k mile and having problems. Ford and gm diesels are bad. Ram fixed their issue. In pro rodeos you see more ram tham ford and gm combined. It's called reliable. You cant break down with animals.
“Class Leading” 😂
Same Cab since 2009 is very tiring. Cummings needs to make their own trucks. Ram just doesn’t get what people want, that’s why their sales are hurting. If they hired me on the design team the truck would sell like hot cakes.
Same cabin since 2009, worst back seat on the market. Not bad but definitely not impressive and certainly not better than Ford or GM. That Rebel grill is ugly, ruins the truck.
Wish theyd do away with the huge ram badge on tailgate. Obnoxious
NOOOO, if fact you made it worse!!!! The split headlight look too much like Ford and Chevys design. The Passenger Screens are horrible and a waste of money and valuable storage space. The suddenly lack of options from 2024 is disheartening. And the lack of exterior color options is atrocious, give us Greens, Tans, and Browns for the 4x4. The lack of interior colors is just as back I want a black/cattle tan and somehow the 2025 forgot about the options in 2024. Then, there is the oversized center stack screen. The 2024 model year has the perfect size screen. Then there is the lack of a telescoping steering column, (HUD) heads up display, real steel bumpers, all truck optional fuel tank skidplate and warm winch. And a Mega Cab with a long bed, and strengthening of the frame for heavier towing. And finally, a 50 gallon fuel tank or dual fuel tank option. Also, a rear view camera as a stand along option
It is still a Chrysler so it will still be a POS.
I own a 2018 Dodge Ram 2500 4x4 with the last 6-speed transmission. I love the Cummins motor and the transmission, but holy hell the truck body is an absolute POS. I just spent over $7,000 replacing the entire front end at barely 150,000 miles! My mechanic told me it is pretty common for the Ram's to have shitty front ends. I don't want to be dropping $7,100+ dollars every 150K to keep this truck on the road just for these issues.
If you are smart don't buy a Chrysler. They've sucked ass for 70 years. Don't make the same mistake I did.
Ok, kid, go play with your Tonka trucks now😂
Moving away from the dial shifter is sad. It is the most functional use of space. At least the column isn’t as bad as console.
You are in the minority
Dont like the nob
What is this world coming to? 🤣 With all these young modern people complaining about these little things, all HD trucks of the future will look like the Cyber Truck and be unaffordable.
Some guys like grabbing a substantial shaft to change gears. The dial bothers them even though every way to accommodate a shift is 100% electronic.
Same cab and bed since 2009. Ghetto.
Need 2 to 3 years new cab
Only tiny, baby steps. I would have expected 475- 500 hp. 1100 to 1200 ft.lbs. A 4.10- 4.30 lsd rear axle. A 10 speed auto. You have a lot of work to do. Too little, too late. Shameful!!!😢😢😢😢😢😢
