- What is life like in remote village of Rio De Janeiro state, Brazil? This video is about the complete experience we had in Brazil staying in the remote farm and get to see the farm life of Vale do Cafe (coffee valley), which is the side of Brazil we have never seen before. This was our first time staying in a farm and it's without a doubt the best place we've stayed in all year! Would you like stay here as well?
▶︎ The place we stayed is called Fazenda das palmas located in the town called Vassouras. if you want to stay here for the next trip/vacation in Brazil, check it out here : bit.ly/36YKyMV

Hi, We are Jimmy and Tah,
American and Thai Millennials left the career in military and finance to become full-time travelers, documenting our memories along the way. Met in August 2015 in South Korea, kicked off traveling in September 2017 with $4000 in a savings account and first started publishing our journey on the way we live the life we have always dreamt of - traveling and being able to work wherever we love ( as long as there is Wi-Fi and coffee)
Milking cow for the first time is probably our most favorite part out of this trip 😂

Rafael Portal Like,
Qual o nome desse lugar?
Essa fazenda ali tem pelo menos uns 150 anos
@@DivertLiving It does remind us of an old american cotton farm.
Here is a sad, but interesting piece of history about this place.
Brazil has been the world leader in cofee production for the last 170 years, and that region (Vale do Café) concentrated most of the national production during the second half of the XIX century, thus becoming first place also on the slave trade.
After the slavery abolition act in 1888, the local economy crumbled and coffee production moved mainly to São Paulo and Minas Gerais, where the market was more competitive.
The place has a sad and violent past. Fortunately, today there´s not much left from that past, apart from rich history and stunning old coffee barons' mansions and farms.
Generally, people associate a very bad image with the city of Rio de Janeiro and forget (or don't know) that there is a STATE called Rio de Janeiro, which is very diverse and large (with a size equivalent to that of Denmark).
This farm is a beautiful example, located in the city of Vassouras, which was an important commercial center during the monarchical period of Brazil, as well as Petrópolis, the imperial city of the mountainous region of the state. A completely different city, with a cold climate, German culture and just 70 km from the capital.
Rio de Janeiro is much more than beaches and favelas, but people don't see it.
Its a really beautiful place!
@@DivertLiving I'm glad you guys liked it. It's great to see people showing other realities in the state of Rio, in addition to the stereotype.
I hope you come back again and do not miss the mountain region.
But that's what the international media loves to show about Brazil - favelas in Rio and social problems, basically. As if these were only in Brazil.
True. The state of Rio has a HUGE potencial to tourism wich is far from being fully used. There's the mountais and imperial cities, the coffe valey, the beaches of the country side such as buzios and cabo frio or angra dos reis and Paraty, there's also the mountains in the coffe valley in Resende, and itatitia (including Penedo). And even the capital could earn way more than It does with good publicity. But somehow the politicians/business people here didnt realize this potencial yet???

Little Grass? Ahahah
Not something I expected to see from Brazil. This is whole different side of Brazil I have never seen. The shower scene of the horse reminds me of showering an elephant in Thailand. Awesome video guys, pleasant to watch :) and informative, like the vibe.
Thank you so much!
man, I'm Brazilian and I'm from the state of Minas Gerais. If you expect to see historic cities, wonderful mountains and the BEST coffee in the world, Minas is the Right place to be
Yes Minas Gerais Will change completely they way you see Brasil!! And Minas have the most kind people of Brasil, mainly in small cities, I am sure you guys will love!!
A-Train Travels Brazil is so huge, man, each part of the country is very different from the other, and even in the same state there are huge differences like you can see here in Rio De Janeiro (the video here). I hope in the future you have the chance to see it, you will be welcome here.
We call it "Roça",a country part of brazil!
The international media when shows Brazil only catch the favelas, soccer, carnival, crimes and poverty looks like they want to create a stereotype about the country but Brazil is much more than that. It’s stunning beach’s, beautiful and huge nature, happy and warm people, culture diversity, nice food, nice vibe, happy, energetic, nature life style, big cities full of diversity.I don’t really understand why the media only show the bad, every country have a bad part but international media only show the bad of Brazil for the world. Hopefully people around the world will be able too travel here and see this amazing place with their own eyes and judge on their own feelings.
Welcome to Brazil guys feel at home.

"Remote village in Brazil" oh boy that's not even deep Brazil lol Loved the video
hahaha it is pretty remote
It is not remote at all. There are many places you can't even reach in Brazil by car, only by boat, especially in the North region. It is a nice video, but there are some points to make, it is not a village, it is a farm (hotel fazenda). On the same line, by the general look this farm has deep roots in slavery.
@@DivertLiving Its not a vilage ..Its a farm, what you americans CALL RANCH..They are everywhere in Brazil. One of backbone of the country. This one you stayed in what was plantation built by slaves from 300 years ago.The american version of it would be plantation homes from Louisiana,Missisipi,
@@DivertLiving Vai pro Acre ver dinossauro. Lá sim é remoto kkk

The farm is not the Brazilian standard. It is a historic unproductive former coffee farm, converted now into a very expensive luxury hotel.
@@warjacare so, as brazilians usually say to people like you, your envy is a piece of shit..

First things first. You guys had been in the farm of Sergio Olaya, a great man that teaches and practice agroforestry and syntropic farming. His contribution to this new thinking how we manage nature and natural process to produce food is amazing (google it if you don't know). Second, 10/10 foreigners think our coffee is so strong, that I try to imagine how coffe outside Brazil tastes. And at the begining the guy says the house seems a southern US house, but actully it is. Brazil in 18th and 19th century farms (sugar cane and coffee) is simmilar to cotton plantations of US from the same era.
