Never thought I'd see them put on blue gloves. The closest they'll get to a doctor.
two by two
hands of blue..
Their parents were proud for those two minutes...
Oof the burn! XD
Lol
Gave no mercy goddamn
Imagine minding your business, walking back to practice after drinking some water, and seeing Brett and Eddy touching walls with gloves in a closed practice room. 😅
Lol

Would be funny 😂
I'd ask if they want to GO PRACTICE with me.
I remember pulling up to WAAPA to practice on a late Saturday afternoon when I saw Brett and Eddy outside the main building waiting to get picked up. I did a double take and went up to them in disbelief and asked what they were doing (was a mix of super excited/nervous/shocked). They said they were filming this video and asked what instrument I played (piano - preparing for my LMus this year). They were both super nice/approachable and then got picked up to leave. It was by far one of the coolest experiences to come out of studying for my degree.
And as a side note, the practice rooms upstairs are much better🤣
Holy cow, lucky! I wish I lived in one of their local haunts; that would be so cool, to think that you might just see them walking down the street one day.
Thats very lucky indeed. Im glad you had a good time 😂😤🤌
Wow! Wish I was you! Were you the fan they talked about in the video?
Missing from Melbourne con: the other building that people actually practice in on the other side of campus, featuring:
• extensive graffiti
• shit (too resonant) acoustics
• carpets that (acourding to rumours) will give you pink eye if you take a cheeky nap
• dungeon vibes
• almost no soundproofing (feels like you're in the same room as the person nextdoor)
ALSO in one of the old building's ensemble rooms there's a warning not to move the piano because the floor is structurally unstable and might collapse 😂
Haha, I thought that was probably a special room, not the everyday practice rooms
7:55 melbourne tricked them lol?
Lingling doesn’t need a practice room. 🤦♂ He IS the practice room
Lingling practices in his bathroom, for the best acoustics.
LingLing is a girl.
are she, we will never know :o
*or
bro practices inside himself
What they don't take into consideration is that every institution is going to have good AND bad rooms. Guarantee everyone has a favourite room to practice in.
they did - and they were sure you would do it too
for me the surprise was that Perth give them that room to use/paractice/record
Agree! And dependent on how much funding each music school puts into their facilities. Melbourne's looks super modern
@@e2pii213what? They looked at one room at each con
So you are not from Melbourne? jkjk
@e2pii213 they looked in what appears to be 1 room per venue. That 1 room doesn't necessarily reflect ALL rooms in an institution. For example, most rooms where I studied were more akin to what they show in Sydney but I know there were always better rooms elsewhere and had a couple of favourites. So...🤷♂️
people always tell gamers to touch grass because they play video games 10 hours a day.
Nobody ever tells us ling ling wannabes to touch grass even though we practice 40 hours a day.
So why aren’t you practicing? Nobody’s telling you to go outside
go touch grass
I keep a bowl of grass nexxt to my computer so I can "touch grass".
That's a good point
Can anyone please tell me the piece name in 3:37
@@Crispy_nuggetsI think it's navarra
Feels like coming back to your old videos 😌✨
Awesome!
Ikr! I am so happy about that!
I feel the same, very nice to watch
Yeah, I love it!
EXACTLY OMG
I just missed editor’s San funny little comments and I am really grateful for this comeback in today’s video! Thank you Twoset❤
Yeeeeess same!! Nicely said!
SAME!!!

life saver. Do you know the piece Brett was playing at 6:04
11:46 correction
It is B2TSM
Hey thanks for this!
tysm
Thanks for this, but what's the piece at 12:18?
5:43 the artwork 😂
As someone who’s been to the Queensland Con, there’s an AMAZING practise room I’ve used a few times with TWO grand pianos (a steinway and yamaha), which also means it’s massive. That room would win for sure.
Edit: nevermind the Melbourne room is on another level wtf
To be fair to Perth, The Perth Concert hall has some of the best acoustics in the entire world.
They filmed at WAPPA in ECU, where the entire building, although quite dated, is set to be relocated to the new campus in Perth CBD by 2025.
Man, they complain, but oh boy does the royal conservatory of brussels awaits them
THE MEMORIES OF PAST VIDEOS 😂 UGH THANK YOUUU
THE MELBOURNE ONE IS CRAZY
It's surely not a normal practice room. It's probably also for lessons/courses/rehearsal
Frfr
@@peralta99340correct! There's another building with more rooms that are CONSIDERABLY more suspicious 😂
- Currently studying at Melbourne con
@@Gnomes_ What are the rooms most similar to? also... what are you studying?
@@linden2391 pretty similar to the Perth + Sydney rooms. I'm studying a Bachelor of Music (performance - classical saxophone) lol
This is really nice. We get to see a glimpse of the 'old' twoset which is so refreshing. I think we all love the fab new content, but you just can't beat that wholesome zest from a few years back. Love you guys !
They just needed to time to transfer from full time y/t-ers to celebrated concert musicians. (As well as move their home studio to a new place.) It is hard. Thank for your patience:-)
10:45 That wall reminds me of their OG videos…I guess it makes sense cause they studied there?
Almost all of their videos in the first years of TwoSet were filmed in practice rooms. Seeing these walls really made me take a trip down memory lane... 😅
ok the music stand being chained to the wall TOOK ME OUT KDNFSKDNF
I do not see any sinister in it. When more than one person using the practice room (chamber music), they need more than one stand. So they go to the next room to fetch one. Then they 'forget' to take it back. Starting a chain reaction, everybody is looking for/stealing stand - in/from any room. Maybe I am old fashioned, but the solution is having either at least two stands in every practice room, or having your own.
i cant believe my choice of peak content is watching two grown men smell a random bunch of rooms
We don't kinkshame anyone here! 😁
I actually also cant believe you
imagine you're just practicing in your uni and you just see Brett and Eddy tiptoing down the hallway
I would be hyperventilating-
I would have been scared
Someone in the comment section actually mentions that they have met them walking down the street waiting to get picked up 😂
@@user-fv7rb3tb3xwhy i would be so happy, first thing ill ask would be taking a picture
@@Chorro38 REALLY??? I don't remember that
If the walls are physically angled/slanted, it helps to improve the acoustics (avoids standing waves in the corners and some resonant frequency issues).
it was not the wall - only the wall cover
The familiar vibe with just Brett and Eddy chilling and doing (weird) things together (and having technical difficulties lol OG) on their main channel!!! I miss this so much!! Love it!!! And dude, they spare time to practice, to film a video, and at the same time, touring!! And man, I actually imagined myself bumping into Brett and Eddy at my uni's practice room when I practice lol But I know I'm daydreaming since I was far away in the States back then lol
Slanted surfaces: Less boomy because no standing waves
The 1+1>2 chemistry is BACH!!! Not saying that I don't like the precious videos, but I do love to see the interaction between you two. The way you two connect with each other is so vivid and lively, that's something that made a lot of your videos so stand out. That bit of intimacy is touching and irreplicable. I hope you two can shine like this in all your videos!!
This reveals the true dedication of musicians - spending hours in some of those awful rooms. I imagine more of them are like the Perth one than the Melbourne one.
Bro the Melbourne one is like the Musician’s Dream Practice Room. I would practice for hours everyday in an amazing room like that. TwoSet is so right you feel inspired to practice there. It opens your mind to creativity and imagination.
this is the twoset content im addicted to! please continue with these, the reddit and charades and lingling workout!
It would have been a better comparison to see an individual practice room for Melbourne as well. The others were a lot older, Perth built in 1980, Sydney refurbished in 2001, Brisbane 2003 and Melbourne 2019, so nice and modern.
i used to teach music at a music academy in perth. i don't think perth understands sound proofing or acoustics when we're studying/learning an instrument no matter when the building was built lol
i dunno why. but it's a constant recurring issue lol
.... as for chaining down everything.... "welcome to perth" is what i said when i saw that : | not much else to say lol
Can confirm: there's like 5 actual practice rooms in that building, actual practice rooms (on the other side of campus) are extremely dodgy 😂
As an Australian twosetter (more specifically from Melbourne). I found this video so entertaining ^^ I have been inside the Melbourne Conservatorium & it is soo beautiful!
I'm really looking forward to going to the Melbourne Con as a music student ^^
are all their practice rooms that big and beautiful? surely not?
@@oxoelfoxo i'm actually not 100% sure how big all of them are but the one i was in was a similar size to the one brett & eddy were in!
@@oxoelfoxothey definately are not! There's almost no actual practice rooms in that building, the other music building on campus has considerably more rooms that are... pretty sketchy
- Currently studying at the Melbourne con
@@Gnomes_ what's it like studying at the melbourne con? (since i want to go to melbourne con) & where is the other music building located?
@@francisnot_ that's a big question haha! If you search 'ocean saxophone quartet' they have some podcast episodes that are much more in depth about studying at Melbourne con than I could cover in a comment :^)
The other music building is on st Kilda road
In WAAPA's defence, it is moving location in the next few years, there's no way they're spending any more money than absolutely necessary at the old location 😂
I feel like this was a much needed video.
I don't study music, but was invited to a few practice rooms at a music university and was quite surprised how badly maintained those rooms and the things in them where... I was somewhat sad about that.
TwoSet's math is as impeccable as ever. 6/10 becomes 3.5/5. 🤣
Great, now review the practice rooms all around the world in 40 hours!
Do it
They'd have to travel at light speed and even then they probably couldn't do it in 40 hours 😂
I’m waiting for someone to point out the fact that the Melbourne practice rooms are mostly nothing like that and in fact more similar to Sydney or Perth, there are a few but in the old building where the majority of stuff is, I mean at least for woodwind and brass, it’s nothing like that at all
It does seem a little unlikely that all of them would be that big and nice.
Was just commenting the same thing 😂
Nice to see an 'old style' video! Love the new set up, I hope you will use it in many more videos.
Just Twoset violin doing Twoset stuff. Love it!
As always, the best parts of this video are YOU GUYS PLAYING together followed by Brett noodling on the pianos. I would love more videos of you guys just straight up playing, or fooling around on your instruments, or practice sessions.
Loved this old skool style video again! Plain brick rooms have never been so entertaining.
You guys came to Perth at the peak of a horrific heat wave 😅
That Brisbane practice room reminded me of the old 24 Paganini streams
So much memories in these practice rooms, so many OG videos filmed in them...
Made me miss my uni's practice rooms... Violin playing was my one and only chance to find peace and comfort during my tough PhD days, so I build a emotional connection with practice rooms lol No matter how small the room is, how noisy the outside is, just whenever I'm in the practice room, i feel safe and calm. Well not too calm if I'm right next to a Sax player, but yeah lol Love this video so much Twoset!!! Thanks for bringing violin to my life!!
Love the new setup! I can see “The Sound Of Your Nightmares” plaque in the background lol
I'm actually pretty surprised you guys weren't overwhelmed by the smell in Sydney - must have got a decent room! Also the fact the aircon was effective is pretty impressive lol
If you want twoset to keep up with getting across this warm vibe like they did in this video like their older ones
👇
YES!!!
implies their recent videos aren't like that? nice backhanded compliment you slid in there. enjoy the internet points, i guess.
Bret has new violin bag!
That Steinway & Son's piano repping a Kawaii cloth 😂.
Love Eddy's "wild hair, don't care" look in Melbourne.
Just two dudes, chilling in the practice rooms. 🤓🎻📝🤓 'Cause they are Ling-Ling's disciple.
Slanted walls are for reducing standing waves. Doesn't really affect violins, but low frequency instruments standing waves will drive you nuts.
walls were not slanted only the covering wall papers
If you can smell slowly, you can smell quickly
This video has a great vibe, love it😍
I have been watching you guys for years. I am so proud of you. Such a great contribution to classical music. You guys rock.
If you want twoset to keep up with getting across this warm vibe like they did in this video like their older ones .
I love it when they play Navarra ❤they have such a special connection 😊

@@e2pii213 thanks!! But i heard it live so… hehehehe
Wow, I never knew practice rooms could be so nice. I go to a university in the US, and our practice rooms are tiny, have zero acoustics, and the majority have asbestos warnings on the ceilings.
The quality is amazing. I watched your pdocast episode recently and I think your goals for this channel are coming together nicely. Keep it up Brett and Eddy, and editor san
IM SO GLAD U GUYS ENJOYED MELBOURNE!!! Sorry about the weather (lol), on the day u guys came, in the morning, the train station was kinda flooded! 😂
Aaa reminds me of the old videos! And Editor-san!! We missed your comments and remarks very much 🥺
I can confirm once using the Sydney practice rooms- it’s lucky you weren’t eaten alive by mozzies 😂
You've got the best dry humour. Great video. 😂❤
14:02 Viola Viola😂
Who said TwoSet dislike viola ? They even chose it as their username ! 😁
Lol
I like this, it reminds me of the old videos.
I was a piano major at the Crane School of Music at SUNY Potsdam. The practice rooms were very small, even the ones with the grand pianos and absolutely no ventilation. In one of those rooms, there was regularly mushrooms growing in the carpets. And they could get pretty big if not attended too. That could not have been good for the piano (Steinway baby grand) that was in that room!
Bubble tea scented practice room. Lol.
Hi Brett and Eddy! Thanks for updating! And hearing you guys play Navarra was really nice.
I could live in that Melbourne room. Wow.
"Such resonant practice rooms" lmao
Wanna see more of the new setup, looks very cool! 🎉
Yes, more videos of Brett and Eddie playing together!! My favorite kind ☺️🎻🎻🎶🎉
Now make a video about the perfect, dream practice room! What would be needed and how does it have to be built to fit the acoustics?
Looks like Melbourne is it. The Curtis rooms looked pretty nice too.
That can NOT be the normal Melbourne practice rooms, can it? :O that's a whole small recital hall
It's a tutorial room 😂 we can book them for practice, but it's hard to get a booking during the day unless you book a week in advance. Most people use the rooms in the old building which are similar to the Perth + Sydney ones
Ah, a Two set video to wake up in the morning to
This video was just good vibes ❤😭
Love love love the new set up! 💕💯🎻🎻
Always a good day when twoset uploads 😊
Yes
melbourne's practice room leigt looks like a penthouse suite its just so grand. i can't believe its just a practice room and not like a small performance hall lol.
It's actually a classroom but they are available to book as practice rooms
- current Melbourne con student
@@Gnomes_ wow thats cool. you guys still have a cool classroom tho
also why are u not practicing 🤨
OMG!! Did I have flashbacks to all the time I spent in a practice room! I do remember though that this kid who was giving me the first tour of the facilities was nervous and he said that the practice rooms had ample space for "sexual" (sectional) rehearsals. I said, " So that's what the windows are for". He was very embarassed.
Love your channel!!! Regards from Bolivia 🇧🇴
Bolivia. So beautiful!!
@@baldwinangel1218 yes! Thank you very much 🙏
Thanks for this great and wholesome video! I love your content and its impressive that you are able to upload while also doing a world tour!
We had decent practice rooms in high school. Biggest issue was they were tiny and people would eat lunch in them, but most people would cede the room to someone that actually needed to practice if they were asked
I freaking loved Brett's outfit in Melbourne! I am getting a brown shirt like that one for me!
Love you Twoset!
Man I'm jealous of all of those practice rooms as an American music student. Imagine having air conditioning or any airflow at all in our practice rooms 😂😂
Only practice room was across the campus in a trailer’s basement. No windows. No ac. Just sweat and tears
The Melbourne practice room would make an awesome studio apartment.
It seems to be bigger than some California studio apartments - and what a great view!
so weird seeing brett and eddy walk in hallways ive walked down!
Ikr!
The practice room can be an enemy, but also a friend of a musician.
Now I feel so lucky with our practice rooms ^^
We have huge rooms with wooden floor and big windows and nice piano (not the upright ones, but proper) in every room that are very well in tune and we also have a pa, a drumset, bass and guitar amps in every room. (I am a jazz major ^^) Also they are cozy with carpets and sofas and stuff.
I would hate to spend my life in a basement cell like some of these rooms.
“Who the hell steals stands?”
👀👀👀not me over here with a stand from both my high school and my college oops
You guys should see my schools practice rooms. They are about half the size of the Sydney practice rooms, have no musics stands, and the pianos are always out of tune. Worst of all, when I’m practicing with my friends, we almost always hit each other with our bows. 😭😭
At my university, nobody stole stands, but we had a big problem with students moving stands from one room to another or to the band room/auditorium/chamber music room etc. This meant you might not find a stand in your practice room and have to bother someone else in a different room to get the extra one somebody moved there. We solved the problem by color coding our stands, but the chained stands might be a result of that.
Does anyone miss the old nostalgic twoset videos with editor-san?
Actually this video has the old vibe with an old style editor-san.
(They have a very new life - with the year-around world tour, they needed to move away from the 4-5/week cute bantering in their home studio vids.)
I want to your concert!!! 🎵
ah it felt like yesterday when they would’ve put “roasting” in brackets but look at them now
Very curious about their new setup. Did I see a golden gun toy 😂
Hey! idk if you'll ever see this, but i really love you videos and if you guys are still adding places for the world tour could you please come to areas around Nashville TN? I've really wanted to come see you guys preform but all the places are very far away and school haha. Nashville has a beautiful symphony and amazing players! Just wanted to put a bug in your ear if you ever read this :) well wishes!
listening and looking at their playing, i can really see their improvements on many aspects after all those tours!
I imagine the Melbourne room was a special one for chamber practice and recitals, and that there are a lot of smaller individual practice rooms. But I bet the standard is pretty high there too, because the whole building is pretty cool and contemporary looking from the outside.
TwoSet can become musical criminalists if they want to
This is a proper national tour, just like every other music act... Adelaide gets left out 😂
Sigh... can only agree.
Love the new setup.
