- I've been listening to Tyler for over a decade now, and every album he levels up, or surprises me creatively. The workload and creative strategy behind all this great music (along with his other creations) is unique, and full of takeaways we can try and use ourselves. Having self confidence is so important, I see so many people say "I make bad music lol" why would anyone check out your music if you actively say its bad
Edit: Yall are missing the point. That energy bleeds into your music. If you go in thinking "This will be trash" its going to be trash. Think about why you say that about your music and see what you can do about it
It's true. I've done it in the past myself. He's definitely on point with that, a lot of people just struggling to be confident about repping their music because they don't see their songs as their best, or the finished product yet, but I'd say put them out, rep them, and show the journey. Mental warfare is a challenging one, those who have passively surpassed that psychological barrier may not understand. Although I agree it’s important to gain the self confidence. It’s very useful.
I love music even “bad music” corny songs with goofy lyrics or “bad” songs with one good line will make my playlist. Music is art

having confidence in yourself can be the biggest weapon you can have when creating art because you need to convince yourself first before you try to convince anyone that you are great at what you do. and believe me you are great at what you do.

I've moved around so much, I aint got roots, I think that's where real self confidence comes from. I'm still making music and I'm never going to stop. Momentum also builds confidence, so I follow the hip hop mantra "and ya don't Stop". The game keeps shifting, but the aim stays the same.
I think 'just don't stop doing it' is one of the things I rely on most in my work too. Something always has to give at some point. Thanks for reaching out and adding your piece, really appreciate it. Peace peace.

The same way he sais that people are sensible to different things in music, people have different ways of being proud of their work and themselves. Not promoting your work doesn’t mean that you aren’t proud or that you’re dismissive of your work. Being proud of your work is a concept that can appear in so many different ways and actions. Promoting yourself is just one of them.
That sounds like truth to me. If people are happy to work just for themselves, and maybe share it with their friends or family, that is cool AF too I'd say. We all have different motivations for doing what we do I guess. Thanks for reaching out Online, and peace to you and your work.

I honestly couldnt even tell you a Tyler the Creator song... I dont listen to any of his work. I listen to music before him I guess because thats what inspires me, but I gotta say... I respect what this man says. You can tell he speaks from his heart, and appreciates music and the creative process. Gotta love that.

i love how Tyler speak when he would go to the club he would be studying music because that's the same for me i feel like i can relate with every social functions where music is being played, i don't like clubs but when i would go i just like to hear the music that being played and how the DJs mix the songs

I love music. I've always did rap and write as a young kid. grew up loving music . My times with rap paused for a few years i started writing gospel music and stopped and hopped back to writing rap hip hop music.
Its just a passion i guess . I domt care on getting famous or big . This just what i didnfor so long it is basically a part of my life especially when i dont have sh*# to do
