Dr. Rao you present an informative analysis as to why the fossils are not going anywhere just as yet. It is indeed not good for the climate, for us and for the generations to come, but the fuel producers-industrial complex will want to sell more of them.
The developed countries will always want developing countries like India to subsidise their (developed countries') fossil fuel use. And India will always protect its self interest by not falling to the deadlines that they want to impose on us.
The good news is that our economy is making strides towards renewable energy. The stage of our development, where we are now, we need fossils for our growth, and we need renewables for sustainability. India has done well to bring this out in COP28, and you have done well to bring it out to us.

Look forward to your analysis on what would be the fourth largest emitter if all nations military emissions are combined.
Also seek a separate analysis on the impact on Indian Economy due to Carbon Tax imposition by UK and EU

Another very informative and clear presentation Dr Swasti. Your command on every subject you cover is amazing. You deserve to represent India at international level and the day is not far I know.

it may sound like a victory for India and developing countries but it is a defeat for the people of most developing countries living in warmers climates. We need to stop burning coal asap, the summers in Indian subcontinent are already unbearable.. how long will we keep blaming western countries who mostly live in colder climates for extreme climates they caused. If climates warms their winters will get milder and summers slightly warmer but India will face extreme summers beyond what we can imagine.

Aesthetic presentation and swasti's beauty adds to the experience for us...errrr...me.

Investment in renewable resources should increase, nuclear power plants are expensive and nuclear waste remains hazardous,
India is hardly working on geothermal energy and tidal energy
