Yes, you have to be very relaxed so that your forearms don't cramp. It's best to focus on throwing your thumbs as an impulse to get up and down. That's why I often called the Ocean "the thumb etude".
I'm 56 years of age been playing for 40 years and tried the ocean etude but gave up 0n difficulties then I stumble across this video ..think I'll retire 😢
@@aspo2955 Wrong, as usual. His playing of this piece is easily better than most in the Chopin Piano Competition, which is played by students who do nothing but attend one piano competition after another trying to make a name for themselves. They certainly practice more than he does.
Eine CD gibt es von Dir bisher wohl nicht ? Deine Fans würden dann auch eher eine DVD vorziehen. Deine Veröffentlichungen hier auf YT würden dafür ganz bestimmt bereits ausreichen. Anschließend solltest Du sie hier wieder löschen, höchstens das eine oder andere Video für die notwendige Werbung nicht.
On entend de faibles applaudissements , en tout cas très timides...alors qu'un enfant absolument génial , doué au-delà du concevable ( voyez-vous ses mains tellement bien dessinées pour le piano , avec des extensions capables de résoudre de grands problèmes techniques...et cette irréelle interprétation de l'étude en ut mineur opus 25 , cette interprétation pas seulement parfaite sur l'aspect de la technique mais avec cette expression que l'on penserait être celle d'un grand pianiste adulte.Comment est-ce possible ? ) , un enfant génial , dis-je , vient de nous surprendre dans notre sommeil de petits bourgeois trop blasés.Il joue cette étude mieux que le grand POLLINI après son Concours CHOPIN...et j'entends des applaudissements fatigués.Cela me dégoûte ! Ce public a-t-il conscience de la difficulté contenue dans cette oeuvre géniale ? Et c'est un tout petit bonhomme qui vient nous montrer ce qu'il sait faire...déjà !Alors , de grâce , mettez un peu de ferveur dans vos applaudisselents et levez-vous pour saluer un talent qui demain deviendra une légende du piano. Outstanding for the age. Technically this is 90 percent mastered. Phrasing and voicing - maybe 50 percent. Also fabulous for the age, this is not a piece for 11 year olds. 16, 17 maybe. I’d be curious how you play this in 10 years. And in 20. Keep us posted!

When you actually spend the hours at the piano STUDYING AND PRACTICING TECHNIQUE… instead of going nowhere for years like me just playing around.

He’s a young kid doing a great job. You can just enjoy the performance without feeling obligated to “grade” it.
