- "Lost Face" by Jack London is a story about Subienkow, the last survivor of a group of fur thieves under siege by indigenous tribes in the Yukon. As he negotiates for his life, Subienkow reflects on his past deeds and concocts a desperate plan involving a painless poison. He bargains with the tribe's chief, offering the secret of this poison in exchange for a painless death. The chief agrees, intrigued by the promise of a weapon against his enemies. However, there is a strange ironic twist at the end.
Many of us enjoyed reading Jack London. Now I enjoy having him read to me. Great uploads, thanks.
