These stories are full of wisdom. Leo Tolstoy was always on the side of the poor. Although he was an aristocratic he gave his estate to the poor. He died in a railway station where many people came to see him.
If okay with you, I am sharing with this wiki summary “Born to an aristocratic Russian family in 1828, Tolstoy's notable works include the novels War and Peace (1869) and Anna Karenina (1878),often cited as pinnacles of realist fiction, and two of the greatest books of all time. He first achieved literary acclaim in his twenties with his semi-autobiographical trilogy, Childhood, Boyhood, and Youth (1852-1856), and Sevastopol Sketches (1855), based upon his experiences in the Crimean War. His fiction includes dozens of short stories such as "After the Ball" (1911), and several novellas such as The Death of Ivan Ilyich (1886), Family Happiness (1859) and Hadji Murad (1912). He also wrote plays and essays concerning philosophical, moral and religious themes.’’
Thank very very much for uploading Leo Tolstoy's stories on audio!!! It is gainful time to hear these rich stories. Please dont stop doing it for all of us who look for meaningful content to our mind and soul. Bless your heart❤.
I had heard he was born from nobility. He probably enjoyed wealth and yet he write so informed about the struggles of the poor. He obviously was a Godly man and had a compassionate heart.
And so it is the devil tries constantly but quickly exits at the name of our Lord. Really doesn’t take so much to drive the devil back to hell beneath our feet. Love the Lord Thy God with all thine heart, soul and mind. Amen
18 years ago, I mentioned that to my son's Freshman English teacher. Not a young lady, she waved it off, saying students today don't care about those old books. That was when I found myself actually face to face with the "Dumbing down of America" in the public school system. We'll be paying the price for bad curriculum in the public schools for many years to come.

What you refer to is known as the "Dumbing Down of America." American youth are taught to be "possessors of soft white hands,' and to be allergic to 'toil-hardened hands'. They shall have to achieve wisdom the hard way, no thanks to the educators.
As a 'moral' tale, or, lesson it went on far too long and became somewhat tideous! It must have been widely read and accalimed by the up-and-coming Bolshevik party of 1917!!!
Yes, it sounds like something that the Bolsheviks would have used for sharing their philosophy, although the non-violent part passed right over their heads. In reality the Bolsheviks' neglect of education and technological savvy proved to be untenable in running a country.
I just found this, somehow today i needed this storyline.and this voice is soothing.Thank you.

@rocky. Very sad indeed. If we could educate people maybe there eold be less fighting. Many Russian authors are a font of wisdom. As are American.

Thank you for translating the book
Awesome!👏👏👏👏
A timeless message? Thank you.
Fools are not stupid 💯💝 thank you!
🦉Ego must be one of the devils.
A fool is just someone that has no clarity and focus of thought in an important given moment.
Stupid is probably derived from mental illness.

Why do you say that? If they are not stupid what are they?
@@4KindnessGal fools are 'foolish.' not quite the same as 'stupid' (according to the old definitions of the words).
Thanks kindly for the upload. Enjoyed it !
Brilliant. I loved how there were no similies, metaphors or flowery language, it was solely a good story that kept me interested.
Thoroughly enjoyed these stories thankyou 🎨😊👍
When we do what is good and right even the devil or enemy will wish to befriend us. Good lesson.

The Book of God's word as it relates to the Book of God's works. Brilliant.
It's a great story. Tolstoy has given me much to think about. His devils are like foxes.

Wonderful story indeed. Thank you!
Do you remember the name of Tolstoy’s book about the man who is bedridden watching his family. It was very sad but deep.
"Family Happiness"?
Thank you. Wonderful stories. Can you upload other books- especially books like “the mortal storm ” made into a movie about the Nazi dangers.
CERTIFIED HOOD CLASSIC
Very clever!❤
I wish I were Tolstoy.
Thanks

Genius!!
I heard the narrator flip between ee-von and eye-van. Am I missing something?
within 1 minute I realized I am listening a story about a family of idiots. End of story, I closed the video
Why does the reader pronounce Ivan in at least three different ways?
Ai me thinks.
Drove me crazy too! I think those little devils were influencing the narrator 😂😂
They're all the same person.. the whole story is about ego.
I love mushrooms
I’m sure it was The Death of Ivan Illiach.
I don't get it.
