I got a little too excited with the price point: it's actually €130. All my comments on the value for money remain the same, especially because finding discounts on adidas shoes is rather...easy (like for instance with code META on top4running.com) 😉
My SL version1 i got 50% off so it was just $30, and lasting over 1,000kms and im still using it.
The first one was so good because it would go on sale for less than half the original price. I would dare to say its one of the best deals if this one follows that same pattern. So underrated too.
so excited to try this shoe!
I definitely understand your excitement
Great review 🇧🇷
bought this shoe today, cant wait to try it out, currently love my novablast 4... hope love em too
Great review, thanks for both. If I understand well, you consider the shoe as a allrounder. If yes, would you choose the SL2 or the HOKA Mach 6? Thanks in advance for the answer
Yes! Please compare to the Boston 12. I love that shoe but the upper is a bit fussy.
Great video Alex. Any worries about dirt or mud getting stuck in the side cutout? It’s wet where I live so it’s my only concern right now.
Nice to see Andy as well on the channel 🙌
And soon more Meta Endurance members featured ! Let’s go 🔥
Hiya Ivan and thanks!
I think I'd just pick up the Adios 6 or 7 on sale. You can find them for $50-60 in the US
I like the updates that adidas has made here. I am currently a PUMA fan because they currently hold the value segment in most running shoe categories. Pleased to see that adidas has moved into this space. I will definitely consider buying this shoe when my current rotation is due for a replacement.
Just picked up a pair here in the UK for £89.00, can’t wait to try them
So it comes with regular Lightstrike? Is it not the Lightstrike 2.0? Fells different compared to the Lightstrike 2.0 from the Boston 12?
What do you think would be better for a sprint trainer, these or the adips 8
Comparison between Boston 12/Supernova rise with SL2?
I'm curious how it would compare to the new Pegasus, I'll test both of those, but just from the price standpoint SL2 is a clear winner 👌
I do pronate a little and what I enjoyed from Boston 9 to 12, even with the brick-ish 10 and 11, is Adidas shoes tend to be firm with snug fit upper embracing the top of your feet. This feels a little stable to me, and that helps me a lot. I think of Boston 12 as a neutral shoe and the Boston 11 as the stability version of B12. That said, how stable is SL2?
Hated the og SL because of how firm it is but this one looks great. Might be good to train my foot muscles on this.
Yes this one definitely adresses that firmness issue! Thanks
How is the fit? My girlfriend went with a half size bigger than her Boston 12s should I get this shoe a bit bigger than my Boston 12s?
I tried in an Adidas store and run 1 kilometer. It is softer than ver1.. but, the laces were too short, the insole is not removable and their is an uncomfortable feeling on the footbed... I will wait for the ver3...
When is this shoe going to be released??
Been waiting for this since seeing the leaks from TRE at the end of last year. How is the sizing versus the Adios 8? I am a US mens size 9 and found the Adios 8 to have the perfect fit for my foot. Thank you for this first impression and the great content.
I went for the same size in both the Adios 8 and this. The fit of this one is a little more narrow and shorter but I'd call both of them true to size fits. Someone with wider feet may want to size up on this one. Hope this helps.
@@AlexFilitti That is really helpful. I have a normal width foot and not high volume. I will go with a size 9 then. Thanks for the quick response. Excited to try the SL2 as my daily trainer for my rotation.
@@AlexFilitti Do you mean TTS for EU sizing? Because UK and US sizing is different
Agree Adios 8 is an amazing fit for me also 👍🏻
What its color and country you buy from?
How does sizing compare to Boston 12? On the Boston I went with my normal US M 10.5, but would go down to a 10 or even 9.5 if I got again. Would you say stick with normal US size, or go down as with the Boston? Thanks!
If anything, go up half a size.
A comparison with the Boston 12 would be nice!:-)
its kinda a different shoe, dont know if you can compare a carbonplated shoe and a non plated shoe^^
I just need more colors and discounts. Looking forward to Christmas/boxing day
When this appears in the adidas sales, I’ll be snapping up some more. 🎉
Is the midfoot snug? I usually have problems with Adidas in that area. Arch support aggressive or flat?
Thanks.
Also have this problem😢
Can these shoes handle a 32km LSD run, and how do your feet or legs feel after running beyond 30km?"
The narrower toe box would be a great for me. I found the Boston 12 toe box too wide and loose.
I have both. I have about 200 miles or so on my Boston 12's and they still look and feel fantastic. Only 3 runs in SL2 so far, but the midsole doesn't feel much different than the Boston. I think the Boston runs a bit cooler (summer in Texas is rough), but the upper on the SL2 is a bit better overall. The heel in the SL2 feels a bit wider. Also, my Boston 12's are a US size 9.5 while the SL2 is US size 10 but the length fit is the same for me. The one concern I have on the SL2 is that the heel slightly hits the bottom of my ankle bone, but it's not much of an issue and it will probably go away with a few more runs. The Boston was perfect fit for me straight out of the box and has only gotten better over time. Both great shoes and great value for their respective prices, especially with all the discounts that are easy to find on both. I expect to get 400 miles or more on both of them.
still adizero without continental? Looks like a great shoe for session.
Yes that's one of the key difference against a Boston/Adios/Takumi Sen. Not a bad outsole but Continental on this would make it an almost perfect allrounder
I love my Boston 12s so a comparison with the sl2 would be very interesting. Any chance of a hint which one you like better?
This is the obvious comparison, so we can answer: will SL2 step over Boston 12 consumers? Both seems very flexible shpes capable from daily training to tempo runs, intervals and race... Seems to me B12 is a little faster, but I see no need to buy both of them....
How does it compare to the Boston 12?
That's like comparing a fiat 500 to a mustang! 😂
Would this show be good for sprinters/hurdlers who are looking for a more stable shoe than the Adios 8?
I don’t think so but to be honest I don’t know what training for these disciplines really implies
U should go for spikes if u train in hurdles and for sprinting I think this is also a good show (sl 2)
How would you compare to the rebel v4?
Unfortunately I haven’t tried the Rebel v4 just yet but Andy may reply to that.
It’s definitely a different feeling shoe. The Lightstrike carrier gives it more stability and I would imagine that it will probably have more durability.
Ride wise, I would think that it would be more versatile for most runners as it has a bit more structure to the midsole. It probably isn’t quite as pure fun as the Rebel but it is still a lively and enjoyable shoe.
Nike pegasus 41 or Adidas adizero sl2?
Adizero SL2
Not planning on getting this shoe but it's going to be tempting in a few months when it's reduced down to $55.
Will it go that cheap?
Seems like its selling out
@@TheTonyCAcc who knows, but adidas historically discounts their shoes pretty steeply. Case in point, I got the Boston 12 last Christmas for $47. Also, the SL was consistently down below $40.
I'm a little confused. I have the first itteration of the Adidas SL. A year later came the second itteration. So this has to be the SL3...
For the first itteration are you talking about the SL-72?
The first SL was the SL20, a daily trainer that came out likely around 2018, and quickly followed a year later with the SL20 2.0. It has Continental rubber and some torsion plate. It was not part of the Adizero range and was soon discontinued. This latest SL version became part of the Adizero range and started to use lightstrike foam to form a daily trainer to accompany the other mid-to- super pro Adizero range.
Release Date???
Today!
@@AlexFilitti Thanks. I’ll keep looking for it here in the US. Keep the great work.
Can you run a marathon in this shoe?
Lightstrike 2.0? 🫢🤔
It didnt say 2.0 in the shoe, but the heel is softer...
