Thank you guys for this great video, 40 years ago I was a primary student at the govt school in flacq, shortly after I immigrated to Canada. From your video I only recognize the old court house. What a change!!!! Thanks again!!
Hey there... Surprised to see this video here, didn't expect... Saw you walking and filming in Flacq.. Hope you are having a great time out here... Cheers..
Another fantastic video , you guys are fantastic love visiting Mauritius my partner is from there and we love watching your videos when we are stuck in lockdown In Ireland it reminds us of home . Keep up the fantastic work .
Hi Bryan and Riki. I am originally from Flacq. I used to teach Modern College in 1970. Just want to add the octagonal extension to the court house used to be the old Post Office, the church is St. Ursule Roman Catholic and the KFC opposite Modern College is one of the first to open in Mauritius. Great to see your videos on UA-cam. Unfortunately due to the corona pandemic, I have not been able to travel to Mauritius. I was last there in Nov. 2019. Keep enjoying your stay in Mauritius and stay safe.
@@BryanDiscoversWorld Love to meet up with you Guys as soon as the borders are open. Hopefully we should be able to travel by late July or early August. Enjoy the sunshine
Yea I really love flacq , I was born there in the hospital , but now I live in Goodlands And my grandma lives there so I go there each week And Super u ofc 😁🤭💜❤
I have to laugh! I don't know if it was this video or the one I watched before where you couldn't find anything to drink but now this one has so many juice places hahaha
My aunt bought the tastiest gateau Piments, badjia, du pain frire, gateau bringelle, gateau arouille in the Flacq market. The oil literally dropped from my hands to the elbow when biting in the cakes ( luckily they provided paper towels). I lived for one year in Flacq.
So Flacq is Vlak in Netherlands..which means a flat surface, land etc.. Again learnt something new, didn't know this.. I wonder, what will happen to this court house. It looks abandoned. Long time ago, Flacq was not so developed. It's a tremendous progress.
FYI, The building you mentioned at 17:35 is one of the oldest building in Central Flacq. It was the old St Jean store. This building has just been renovated couple of years ago.
Very nice to see you both, we watch this side of the world in Australia, just wanted to know are you from Australia or New Zealand because you sound like one. Love your program our warm regards someday we want to come over to your city looks very interesting. Regards happy filming Manoj and Renu

A bit further to South East in trou d'eau douce there is also a big and beautiful church and also in bel air village most beautiful church build in the 18th century
Bryan and Ricky, All my colleagues at work and at the gym in the United Kingdom, really enjoy watching your you tube holiday programme about the island of Mauritius . We are learning a lot about Mauritius. Thank you Reed from the UK. 🇬🇧
What we like about Bryan and Ricky's holiday programme on UA-cam is they always show the viewers everything about the island of Mauritius not only the commercial touristic area. They will show the viewers deep in side the islands of Mauritius and all the hidden gems that the tourists do not know about. This is the beauty of their programme, very informative and very unique. Thank you Reed From the United Kingdom 🇬🇧
Vous avez eu de la chance ce jour là que la cour ne soit pas en activité car alors vous ne pouvez pas entrer, il y a des cars avec des prisonniers et beaucoup de policiers surveillent.
The old, dilapidated shops are most likely occupied by long-term tenants, who are protected by law, as they do not have a written contract. The only way the landlord can get his property back is if the tenant moves out voluntarily or if the property becomes inhabitable (the landlord is not obliged to build a new one for the tenant). Until then, the tenant will continue to occupy a land worth millions of rupees and only pay peanuts in rent.
Hi Bryan really enjoy the literature that goes with the sight seeing & the places that not many tourists visit. Well done both of you. 👍
Thank you so much, we like going off the beaten trail
That's when you experience the real nature when you go off the beaten track. The lakes, rivers and parks. Great filming 👍
