After 5 years Mark you still keep surprising me with really unique foods and delicious ingredients, one of the main reasons I started traveling and living abroad here in Thailand for almost 2 years now! Thank you very much 🙏
The pyramids are a nod to history. Back in 16th, 17th & 18th century when agriculture was being developed on the very volcanic, rocky & fabulous island of mauritius there were a lot of rocks in the soil. To develop the cane fields with manual labour, any rocks close to the field centre were piled up. Anything closer to the field edge were piled around the boundary. Every field/cane paddock had a pile of rocks in the middle and a low rock wall surrounding the edge. Sometime around the 1940's, when bulldozers made pushing rocks over distances significantly easier, these were built & have become national treasures. Many of the original piles of rocks that were still there in the early 1990's have been carted off & crushed to make aggregate for concrete or used as road base around the island. Whatever the reality for the pyramids, Mauritius is a wonderful melting pot of cultures with amazing people, scenery and foods. Absolutely love the place, can't wait to go back for fresh Gateau Piments & beer on the beach.
I am so proud as a Mauritian to see you visit our beautiful island Mark! Thank you so much for showing the world what Mauritian cuisine has to offer 🤩Can't wait to see some more videos from you in Mauritius.

Oh man! Watching you guys trying Mauritius blended cuisines is a visual treat for my eyes and heart. Definitely, Chinese, Korean, and Japanese cuisines are a well-balanced diet that consists of protein, fibres, and carbohydrates. Mauritius, Malaysia, and Singapore have real melting pot cuisines and culture. If different customs, cultures, and religions could co-exist, why do we still chase wars instead of harmony, I wonder.

Thank you Mark for showing us how food unites different cultures. But the Rasgulla/Roshogolla actually seems like Gulab Jamun because Rasgullas are always white. Love from India 🇮🇳
