This was weird. It’s almost like watching somebody self harm. She seems so depressed and keeps saying how awful her hair is, but then proceeds to make it worse and worse - while all the time complaining and castigating herself. Very, very strange.
It seemed like she was having a bit of a mental breakdown
It's called Leftism...
Spot on
that is what i thought too, she needs mental help.
Honestly, I think what she does is obsessive and unhealthy. Feels to me like she loves the attention it brings her while is satisfies her self-harm urges. I guess she might need professional help not for her hair but her mind.
I’ve read and watched a few mental health research papers/videos on the connection between trauma/poor mental health and hair care/dyeing. A lot of times someone that is going through a hard time where they feel like they are not in control of their life, they exercise control over their appearance aka their hair. They will constantly dye and dramatically cut and change their hair no matter the damage because it is the only thing they feel in control of. And a lot of times people will do it themselves to further hold onto that fleeting power over the only thing they can. It’s actually very interesting and sad in a lot of ways. Obviously, I’m not saying everyone that dyes their hair is in mental distress, but this a characteristic for some people. I mean that’s why we have the trope of the “breakup haircut” where someone is going through heartache, so they try to take control in some way and cut all their hair or dye it an extreme color. Anyways, another great and entertaining video 🖤.
I no longer color my hair. When I did, I either went to a salon, which were great results. During a bad depression or just to feel better. The depression part was scary. Because it made me feel uglier and stupider. Maybe we should have self care phone numbers or text numbers to talk out the pain, not abuse the hair. For a bad result could be more painful?
I used to be that way. I've grown a lot since and my hair is long and pretty now (a direct reflection of my inner self being cared for). Jesus gets all the credit ❤️. He taught me to love myself.
Wow! I have severe clinical depression. Thankfully, I’ve been on a combo of meds, that work for me, for a few years now & im doing well. This is so interesting. I’ve done this my whole life! Fortunately, I had extremely thick hair back then, but now that I’m old & have had Covid twice, it’s gotten so thin I want to cry. I’ve had MANY unfortunate hair colors when dyeing it on my own over the years! 🤣😂🤣 I feel so sorry for this girl. I’ve never messed my hair up that badly! ❤
❤❤❤❤you know how it feels your so right
I can see this. From age of 14 I always had a different colour every couple of months I did myself and drastic cuts. Only 20 years I stopped doing it myself and go to a salon. I still have crazy colours but I don't feel need to be as impulsive about it!
We need to normalize wearing wigs. When a woman says "I have nothing to wear" she really means "there is nothing in my closet that expresses who I am today. It is the same with hair. Wearing wigs would help prevent damage, and that damage can really kill your confidence. It's not just hair.
I agree bit the twice I put them on I about died from overheating. I don't envy anyone who wears them.
@@Loralanthalas they’re so uncomfortable, and to actually look good it takes so much work, I don’t know how anyone stands it. Wish I could!
It is normalised. Nobody can tell if you’re wearing a good wig
I need to invest in some fun colored wigs. Ive cut most of the damage out of my hair, but I fight the urge to bleach it and have the fun vivid colors. If I had the wigs, I could do all the fun colors, and not hurt my hair.
Watching this channel has made me realize I should probably buy myself a couple of wigs if I really want a different color or length of hair for a short time.
That’s a great idea
Ikr, lolololol
Yes! I learned the same thing because I don't want my hair melted, burned, or falling out
Yeah, that's what I thought, too. Especially bright colors - it's easier in so many ways.
Same 😂
I just feel so sad for this girl :( It's almost as if she's purposely destroying her hair as a way of punishing herself. And she's so pretty! At this point, I think getting a pixie cut (by a professional!) or shaving her head and keeping her hands off of it for a year would be a good start. ♥
I had similar issues I couldn't stop obsessively chopping my hair. I hated it.
Got a pixie I'm ok now.
Thank you for saying it's not just hair. I think too many people ignore how important, emotional, and even spiritual hair can be to people.
🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻 yes this.
Yes y’all! I’m sure you can tell I have a lot of hair. It’s my favorite part of my body. When I feel it flowing down my back it makes me feel like a Disney princess. If someone wanted to destroy me, they should destroy my hair. I think I would have a breakdown. I am not even close to joking.
Yeah, I had never had long hair, now it comes through my chest and I understand the great capacity for esteem that can generate in its person. If I cut it to the way I wore it before, I would suffer. 😰
I am ashamed to say about a yr ago i went natural. That is brown and curly. Its almost to my waist. It is somewhat spiritual. From a platnium white pixie that was so much work.
@@ZieSpiralOut me 2
She seems like she may need to speak to someone if you know what I mean. But honestly her in a textured pixi cut would be awesome! Also WIGS EXIST! Instead of ruining you hair wear a cute wig for that day!
Realist wigs are expensive, and no one wants to walk around with fake looking wigs
@@malloryknox6802 that’s true maybe save up and invest in a medium quality wig?
@@malloryknox6802 to be fair, extremely melted and damaged hair looks worse than a shake-and-go wig.
You can get $20-40 synthetic lace wigs that are cute, and just need styling to make look realistic. Which is cheap, compared to the price of dye, bleach and emotional damage.
I know what you mean. She seems to be tired of life
@@raeli2229 My thoughts exactly.
My eldest daughter did this but it was highlighter pink. She then tried to cut it at school with school scissors. She came home, went to the bathroom and I heard the buzzers. Before I could even make it across the house and into the bathroom, she had already shaved half of it off. She went completely bald, and then as it grew out she had the most adorable little pixie haircut. She is almost 30 now and has the long gorgeous, natural, blonde hair that she was born with, but oh my Lord, that child went through some colors and haircuts! She even had a mohawk at one point! I just always let her do what she wanted with her hair. It’s just hair and it’s her journey.
I feel like this person is really struggling and not just with their hair. I hope they have a good support system at home because they really seem like they are in a bad place.
This was painful. Ngl. I think we all felt the depression hit midway through this and always fear of this outcome when doing our own hair.
Well done HB for keeping your sanity on this one!
After melting her hair, I think her mind just shut down and she went berserk mode against her hair.
Like, the ultimate way to cancel everything wrong she did to her hair.
Poor girl.
To me, she seemed kind of shut down even at the beginning. Maybe she needs to see both a professional hair stylist and a professional emotional stylist in order to solve some of her problems. Her disgust with her hair caused this mess in the first place, and she needs help to put the bottle down, if you know what I mean.
@@catladyfromky4142 absolutely. She is not, in no way, kind to herself and her hair was the victim in the first place. The easiest one.
My 19 year old self feels this poor girl in her soul. Thank you Hair Buddha for trying to teach us to do better and thank you for being SO compassionate.
Hair Destroyer: "They have updated the formula."
Hair Buddha “It’s more quickly dead now!”
Hair Buddha, your facial and verbal expressions are what legends are made of. Thank you for trying to save so many from themselves. ❤️ You can almost feel the pain Hair Buddha feels when these people destroy their hair. He is such a kind man.
She is depressed and looking for change in her life through her hair. We all have done it
I didn't. Was never depressed in my life or destroy my hair.
“If you like the blue stay with the blue. WTH!?” 🤣
She has the perfect face to pull off anything though 💖
Omg she's so defeated. I feel so bad for her. But I do think the dark hair suits her way better, she's beautiful 💕
When she does start chopping, I do think that the way it falls started to look so much healthier and stronger. I mean it's uneven and not especially flattering, but it looks better than it did with all the melted stuff.
I gravitated towards the boxed hairdye in the grocery store today. I heard your voice in my head and resisted the temptation. Thank you.
👏❤
This is like watching someone cut themselves.. This is pathological.. Seriously.
Such a pretty girl, she doesn't know what she wants. I wish her well . It's painful to see her doing that to herself. Hair Buddha is awesome tho, I really enjoy his videos
I love Hair Buddah! Your facial expressions speak a thousand words! 😂
"if you like it stop changing it!"
... which is why my hair has been bright red for almost 10 years 😂
Oh that poor girl, it was like watching a mental break. We put so much identity into our hair. Mine is fine hair but hers is just so thinning, I think a good colourist needs to get it to a point where it looks good, just grow out her virgin hair and maybe in a year or 2 she can A learn to love herself for who she is and B change her hair once it’s healthy
The sound effects at, "throw the box away" 🤣🤣🤣
Her hair was more flattering with the messy look she had while cutting. I think she should get some pomade and a texturing spray and play around with it. It could also help to make the hair appear less thin.
Nickie. You seem like a really nice person. Hope she reads your post. Just kind advice no jabs which would be easy
Realistically. Until direct dye colour companies come up with a “stain remover” this will keep happening. If I had the means- I’d come up with one. It is so needed in the market.
The color removers for direct dyes do exist, just like color removers for permanent colors do. They are just recommended towards hairstylists/colorist due to the process. Some salons and hairstylists/colorists use them others don't due to cost and patience, etc. I think it's well worth it.
“But if you like the blue…. Stay with the blue! What the hell” lmaooooo 🤣
Every time I hear “Hey Hello” I know the day is going to be a little better 😆
She looks so cute!
I know exactly that "FINE SECTIONS" is screamed at least once XD
🙈
For someone who just blindly whacked their hair off, I think it came out pretty good. She looks good with short hair 💙
I think she ended up going to the professional to fix it. It is dark brown in the last shot and looks healthier and looks like it has been cut again by someone who knows how to do it properly.
She did have a pretty face and can wear the pixie..thank goodness for her
My anxiety for this girl.... THROUGH THE ROOF!!!!! I do feel for you....😢
Mr. Budda....i can also feel your frustration thru the screen!😂😂
Your videos are like group therapy. I tend to have more frequent bad hair days as I grow older, and there are moments where I want to just shave it all off and say ta hell with it. But these videos help reassure me that my hair problems... are not that big of a deal whatsoever. Yeah, hair can get annoying. But my problems are not these kinds of problems and for that, I am very grateful.
That girl was already bold in the back at the beginning of the video!
Hun, as someone who has melted her hair before I urge you to let go. Just buzz cut it or even go bald. The hair will grow back healthier and better coz let’s be honest it was thin and sparse. Sometimes holding on is what destroys us. Let go. ❤
It will grow back thin and sparse! But yes, nonmelted.
She needs a wig she is nearly bold at back
Noodle hair 😂😂 Is that a technical term? 🤣🤣
Yes 🤣
Sounds like that was more of a bleach wash than a color remover. I'm amazed at how many people who have no idea what they are doing will insist on doing their own hair...and filming it. Lol
And posting it.
I guess it’s a trend. Post yourself being stupid and bask in the attention.
Wow!! That was definitely the most memorable “HAIR FAIL” video that included everything!! From start to finish! The worst of the worst!
😂😂😂 your frustration with her is a poem “ if you like it don’t change it!”
Waking up to Hair Buddha videos is the best! And cats 🐈
My hair is naturally brown. I went to have my gray covered at a salon, the girl ended up bleaching my hair. I knew something was wrong while it was happening because it hurt so flippin bad. Burned. They just kept telling me I’m fine.
I cried the second I saw myself in the mirror. So much hair fell out, bald spots, scalp pain for 6 months. I was embarrassed to leave the house but my scalp hurt to bad to even try n fix the color. It’s been a year and I haven’t been back to a salon. I’m scared. My hairs about 2 ft long now, my new growth is about 6 inches and I look like a freak if I try putting it up. Hair sticking out everywhere. My gray.. just yikes!!! I’m not even sure what to do because I’m to scared. Right this minute I can’t afford a $250 hair appointment… just sucks all around. I’m way to young to have all the gray n dang your hair makes such a huge difference in how you feel about yourself…. What can a girl do… lesson learned
I hope you can find a nice hair salon! Definitely look to places in like urban malls which is usually where I find nice hairstylists since they are a company they don't want to get sued
If you're still looking for recommendations, loreal colorists sells gray root covers that work like a hair spray, they cost around $15 and can usually be found in department stores or pharmacies. For the hair growth itself, Lee Stafford sells some great products that focus on scalp health and they're around $25, I can personally attest to their effectiveness for hair growth. I hope this helps
You can fix this with a Demi permanent with 3 vol to fill the light parts with a red orange color and then after they are filled a brown Demi permanent with again with 3vol and it will be much more even. I recommend shades eq bc I know they have good grey coverage and their processing solution is the equivalent of 3 volume. Shades actually normally adds a lot of shine.
16 years of doing hair here 💙
I agree use a demi yourself just do research.
I left regular hair color on my thick hair for too long, every time I wanted to cover my gray. One day it came out in chunks and my once too thick hair became see through in the light. I deep conditioned, used leave-in conditioner and got regular hair cuts. Never used heat and reduced shampooing. It took 2 years for healthy hair to grow back in. It's 10 years later and my hair is thick and healthy again. You will get your hair back, you just have to be patient. I used Henna powder to cover my gray back then, because it's the least chemical on the market. Good luck!
The squeaky toy sound kept my dog entertained throughout the entire video!
I love your reactions and responses to people 😂. I get the impression that if you could jump through the screen and stop them doing what they are about to do you would!lol
“I’m trying to stay calm. I hope I don’t get mad, I hope I don’t cry. “ This is my new motto for every day. -merch idea lol
After looking at your vidéos, I decided to go evry time to an hairdresser for my colours 😂
The blue actually looked better on her than the black... but it's like Hairbuddha said, she shouldn't have touched her hair at all...
I used color oops about 5 years ago to remove Demi brown dye when I decided to let my white silver natural hair take over.
I remember clearly reading in the instructions that it DOES NOT REMOVE those “bright fantasy color). Doesn’t anyone read anymore?
She should just shave it all off and start fresh! She has the face for it ~ she would look cute. 😊
I think people sometimes forget that there are really great wigs out there in every style, length and color if you have any events that you know you will be photographed or at work.
The brown was ok. If she cuts her hair like Mia Farrow in Rosemary's Baby, she would look amazing.
It never ceases to amaze me at how many people post themselves destroying their hair.
I feel so much better about the trim I gave myself during covid lockdown. Poor girl. I'm so sorry for her. It will grow back sweetie. Live and learn.
Most color removers aren't formulated for semi-permanent color anyway. There's a few on the market similar to Malibu CPR which is basically just vitamin c that pull semi-permanent without damaging the hair. But blue dye is notoriously difficult to pull anyway and sometimes that doesn't even work.
Vitamin c is believed to not damage the hair but I DRYS it out and if you do it a few time it will agitate the hair enough to damage it. Speaking from experience lol and that is followed by deep conditioning treatments
@@roygbiv9769 it does dry it out but it does not chemically damage. It's much easier to restore moisture to the hair than it is to repair damaged bonds.
Aw she's got such a pretty face a proper pixie would look really nice
I think she looked better with Black - and the cut seemed ok!!
He went there" you don't have that much hair" 😂😂😂😂. I'm so done!!!! I just love Hair Buddha facial reaction😂😂😂😂
Colour removers don’t work for direct dyes. The best way to remove a direct deposit colour is a bleach wash.
True. But her fine hair was already damaged, and even a light bleach wash could have thrown her hair off the blue cliff. I just hope she keeps the brown for at least a couple of months to allow new growth to come in before she starts playing with it again.
When she roughed up the uneven lengths, it actually looked good. It had volume and interest.
That black, though, ugh.
That was so hard to watch, I wanted to help her so bad. Hopefully when she decides to change her hair, and she will, she goes to a professional.
Am I the only one that love the blue color she had at 1st?
It was a pretty blue, she liked it, Y change it?! It wasn't that bad to begin with 😬😭
My goodness, this is stressing me out so much! Just ugh 😔
Thank the good Lord above I never melted anyones hair after 22 years of doing hair!! I retired after being tired of people pleasing constantly......and now, I'm a HR supervisor, STILL PEOPLE PLEASING!! LOL
As a teenager and up till finishing university I LOVED having different styles and colors in my hair.
What I did to make that affordable was to go to my hairdresser and offer my head/hair to the hairdressers in training. The owner had a couple trainees every year and they always needed test objects to try things. As I was pretty open to experimentation I got shuffled around between all the trainees. (Obviously the two lead hairdressers and/or special teachers for the trainees always checked first if what the trainees wanted to try (and that I then acted like I absolutely wanted to have so that they could test whatever they wanted) would a) be possible on my hair, b) wouldn’t damage my hair and c) wouldn’t cause them to lose my services for the next several years.
Everything they tested on me was free of charge.
If you’re trying to test something different every couple months do ask at the local salon if they have trainees that you can offer your hair to.
I had longish hair and it’s natural color is a boring middle brown. Curls, not very tight but definitely always visible.
Its Fine Sections Friday!!!
😻😻😻😻😻😻😻😻
Love ya Hair Buddha, Thank you for all that you do. 😎😍😎😍😎😍😎😍😎😍😎😍😎
You have the best personality, I wish I could work for you.
Thank God she has a beautiful face.
I feel so sorry for her! In the past I had a real hairfail with henna. It took me three years to grow my hair back again. Love from Doro
My hair looks shiny and healthy with henna, but I don't have the time or energy now for all that mess. I heard that people should do strand tests for henna, especially since different products have different additives that can damage hair. I am glad that your hair is healthy again.
@@catladyfromky4142 Dear Paula, henna is sometimes a little bit tricky! If you apply it in long hair the roots will have a different colour than the middle and the ends. I ended Up with three different unwanted colours and hairstructures in my head. So If you dye your hair with henna, make sure you only apply it only in the roots first and then redye the rest while your rinsing the hair! Love from Doro 🤗
It looked great short and blue!
I am always anxious to press play when you upload, too! Thank you for brightening my day, Hair Buddha. 🌞❤
Thx for always being here
@@hair-buddha, You're welcome.
@@hair-buddha i need your expert advice, i killed my hair well over a year ago, with bleach and no understanding, but i put blue on and i have spent a fortune on olaplex and repairing masks and it feels amazing, i have thin but alot of curly hair, i put a newer blue on (non damaging colour) but it's too dark, my hairdresser is quite old and old fashioned and didn't seem to interested when i asked questions, so, i love the blue but i want to lighten this darker colour (they changed the formula so it's dark blue not turquoise) i bought some colour remover, can i use this safely on the blue ends? And slowly go a little lighter? I like having darker roots but the ends are too dark for my English fair skin, please can you advise me? I would really appreciate your help! I live your channel and watched all your videos x 😊
What I would personally do in her situation, I would take red semipermanent dye, mix it with a good amount of conditioner so essentially a very watered down pink dye, put it on my hair for maybe half an hour to an hour depending on how diluted it is, and then the red should combine with the blue to make it purple and purple fades pretty nicely into silver after a few washes and after that fades into the bleached hair again so you’re good to go for a new colour, you just have to know how to play with the colour wheel. I just dyed my hair dark pine green and I am expecting blue to happen, I already have purple dye so I’ll prolly just use that cause I don’t mind a periwinkle moment ;) as long as you follow colour wheel you can stretch out bleached hair for a loooong time it’s great
I stumbled upon this channel and I LOVE you!!! You say exactly what I am thinking watching all these 'kitchen beauticians' -
"I'm sorry to say it, but I don't like it either" 😂😂😂😂
What I've learned from watching Hair Buddha videos:
don't do your own hair!
And how much I should appreciate my hairdresser!
"What do I do???"
HB- "cut it"
I mean honestly if olaplex can no longer save you, you know you messed up. I felt "I'm mad, but I'm very sorry". But she tried to make the best of this super rough situation.
Love n Light to this beautiful soul
Lol I watched this video a few weeks ago and was literally yelling the same things you are at her! 😂😂😂 I love your channel SO MUCH!!! ❤️ ♥️ I've followed all of your Instagrams and tiktok too!! ❤️
Still loving your videos, I thought she would get more emotional after what happened!
Watching this during break at work, coworker looked over and say my facial expressions of shock. Asked me if I was okay, said I’m doing better than hair stylists looking at hair fails
I love ❤ hair Buddha he's such a genuine guy so so nice such a sweet soul
HB...watching your facial expressions is priceless. 😊
I feel badly for her, but if she had watched even a couple of "how to" videos, she might have known to leave her hair alone for awhile and let it heal.
I've been watching this channel for a while but this is the first time I've noticed the extent of your tattoos-they are so cool!
It’s overkill hair, lol, bless her heart
Love ya Buddha✂️🖤🤍💓
Thank you for your channels, they Rock!
*THIS IS PROBABLY THE BEST VIDEO EVER THAT YOU HAVE POSTED TO DATE*
I’m sure I should watch these to learn from others mistakes and hear the Hair Buddha’s wisdom but I find once I’m here, it’s always for his reaction!
I love your reactions!
I love watching your videos....
Why are there so many people complaining about blue hair? I love when people have blue hair.
It wouldn't look good on me but some people can really rock that blue.
i just got done putting in blonde streaks in my mom's wig lol turned out good. Your gorgeous Buddah !!! :)
I hope she uses the money shes saved by not going to a professional and uses it for some therapy.
As a Blackwomen, I like Buddha videos, because he is fair with the Bleach deal..thanks Buddha 🤣
No one cares if you’re black
I’m with you HB, if I like something. I don’t change it 😆✌🏼
This was so sad,and scary. I was so anxious watching this, she needs to get a wig! Why didn't she go to a salon?😱😱😱
She has a pretty face and could absolutely rock a short pixie cut. GO TO A BLOODY HAIRDRESSER, DO IT DO IT!!!
I’m sorry but there has to me something wrong with you upstairs in order to make one bad decision after another!! Btw I love the reaction when she said “I’m not a professional’ 🤣🤣I laughter out loud on that one 😁
It's like voting 'Blue no matter who"
Thanks for the video Hair Buddha❤️
I want to give her a hug
Loved the advice...wished she listened to it for future
Most of these i think people do just for a video but i genuinely feel for her, their is much more going on with her than just her hair...
"Noodle hair". LOL!!!!!!!! The poor girl's hair looks like a yarn doll or the tassels on the edges of a worn out rug.
I love it, when you watch the video, have a reaction of your own and Hair Buddha says JUST what you were thinking yourself 😂😂
I don't get it ... she knew her hair was semi-dead already ... she had to cut it before, so it doesn't look as dead ...
She LIKED THE COLOUR!!! and I think it suited her well enough, it matched her blue eyes ...
WHY?! If she wanted a change, I would've gone for a blue-based/similar to blue colour, not even trying to go lighter in color ... but search for a colour, that also conditions the hair ... and just put it above!
She could've sticked to it, she could've gone dark blue, she could've done purple, green ... she had so many options ...
Why did she go for "How to kill your hair"?
Somebody explain!
I love it when he gets to laughing
She has such a beautiful face. She could do a very short professional cut.
She’s doing everything you taught us NOT to do oh my god !!
I have to say- I liked the dark hair on her...she has such pretty blue eyes, that pop more with the contrast. She just has to leave it alone. Her hair is very fine. Even finer than mine and I thought that to be impossible. If you want to grow out your hair...stay away from bleach! A toner is the most I would do. No heat, no harsh styling. I personally don't get why people dye their hair a fashion color. It looks nice when it's done well and when it's fresh and vibrant. But it's very high maintenance and most people get tired of it. Then you must bleach the already compromised hair AGAIN to get rid of the remaining pigments...it's worse than just having to rebleach and tone a "natural" blond.
