i was wondering why red devil wasnt in the competition for a couple seasons but now i know
Nah that isn't the reason. This is an old version of the bot that the old team captain sold. Jordan Miles was the team captain in season 2 on ABC. But when Season 3 came along on Discovery channel Jordan had sold the name and brand of Red Devil to Ravi Baboolal and All Black Robotics. Ravi and All Black Robotics have built a brand new Red Devil and had intended to compete in the 2020 season. But then COVID happened and the team decided to not take part in this years event. But they plan to return in 2021 season with a brand new version of Red Devil.

@@von... Nah they wouldn't they would all be Bite Force. Tombstone is kind of showing it's flaws now. Seeing how they are 1-2 this season. I mean it's still a dangerous bot that can win against pretty much anyone. But it by no means any where near the most effective design. Seeing how Tombstone has one huge simple weakness. Which is they don't handle going up against bots that have a wedge. They lost to Bombshell due to the fact that Bombshell has a wedge on the front which meant when they hit it they popped up in the air and landed right on Bombshell spinner which snapped the chain of Tombstone right off. They lost to Rotator due to Rotator having a strong wedge that they kept feeding into the weapon of Tombstone which caused Tombstone to bounce off which overtime caused Tombstone to break itself. They lost to Endgame because they added wedges to the front of the bot. And they then lost to Skorpios due to the fact that they also have a wedge in the front. Yes Tombstone has also beat bots that have a wedge in the front like Beta, Gruff, Sawblaze and Quantum but they struggled a lot against Beta and Gruff and Sawblaze made a mistake that cost them.
So by no means is Tombstone the most effective design that would easily be Biteforce who has only lost one match in it's entire career and that was a fluke loss to Chomp. Other then that they have literally never been beaten. I mean Tombstone just this season alone already has 2x as many losses as Bite Force has had in 4 seasons. Which is why a majority of the field in Battlebots is made up of vertical spinners as they are by far the most effective design in the sport.
@@wisewolftony Yeah, definitely. Although after watching the latest round of the current championship, it's becoming more clear that it's not even so much the vertical spinner that matters, so much as the toughness and the front wedge. So many upsets, many of them good vertical spinners.

I just discovered your channel and I can't believe YOU bought Red Devil lmao. I love watching battlebots, it's one of my favorite shows. Red Devil was definitely one of my favorite bots to see because most bots are just spinners that run at each other, so I always root for the bots that go for a more tactical approach to out-maneuver their opponents, and what Red Devil did in Season 2 of the reboot series vs. Witchdoctor was probably one of the best examples of that! I'm sure you've seen it: Red Devil getting the perfect grab and cutting in with chemical smoke pouring everywhere was so satisfying to watch, especially considering Witchdoctor was the 3 seed! Man just typing about it makes me want to go back and watch more episodes.

I was apart of a robotics club called FIRST Robotics or FRC, and our robots aren’t battlebots although we do have them in teams competing against each other, and even they require 2 people to drive. And that’s not even considering the coach that directs the robot’s operators on what to do. I can’t imagine how difficult it would be to control that battle bot with just 1 person.

Fun shit! My dad built a battlebot, my family is in the crowd in one of the original vhs's, and I got a t shirt from one of the original tournaments. Dad never completed the bot but we used to stand on it and drive it around the neighborhood like a magic carpet. It's nice to see some people are still into BB.

@@schirmactueventuality6243 I doubt it as he doesn't own the brand or the name of the robot. Jordan Miles sold that to Ravi Baboolal and All Black Robotics. Jordan Miles walked away from the sport after season 2 on ABC. Which was why in season 3 when BB moved to Discovery Channel he was no longer on the team. Also Ravi and All Black Robotics had built a brand new Red Devil that was set to compete in the 2020 season. But due to COVID they ended up pulling out of the competition. So no way are we can see Will compete in Battlebots with this Red Devil. I mean people could say why not just change the name and enter it. But that wouldn't help as it would still look very similar to the new Red Devil and Battlebots producers wouldn't want to have two robots that look almost exactly the same in the competition together. Not to mention it's one thing to own a robot but it's another thing entirely to enter and compete with it. William would need much more then just the robot to be able to compete. He would need a team around him who knows more about how to repair a bot. He would then also need to spend a shit ton of money on having spare parts. And they would never allow him to compete unless he had all of that. As they would never allow in a team that only had one bot with no spare parts. As all that would result in is the team showing up having one fight having the bot badly damaged and then having no way to repair the bot and get it back up and running to have a 2nd fight much less have to also have 2 more fights after that. William would pretty much have to spend well over $20,000 just to have enough spare parts to compete.

I love how every time he introduces allen he always says "failed mythbuster"
I remember that one day at BattleBots (I went to a live event in CA) when a heavy bot caused a wall bolt to break and we had to evacuate, a piece of shrapnel from 2 spinning bots fly through the ceiling and hit a child, and i'm pretty sure we sat next to one of the myth buster hosts before they were cool.
I somewhat highly doubt shrapnel would have hit a child without there being extensive records of that having taken place.
@@Garfie489 I saw it, a horizontal spinning blade was against a vertical spinning blade and it ripped off a part of the saw blade and sent it through the ceiling glass which wasn’t as thick as the walls, then they carried out the child. May not have been that bad. I never saw that season on tv.

As someone who has built lightweight (60 lb) combat robots for a while, this video was a safety rollercoaster.
Was it one of the old cheap rollercoasters that only have a metal bar with way too much give to keep you from falling off? In other words, was it a safety rollercoaster rollercoaster?

I like that you gently sat it back on the floor after putting it up on its side to get it off the trolley. Unless you weren't wanting to damage your garage floor, I'd have just pushed it over and let it drop, since they go through far worse in the Battlebox :p

This is so great to see Red Devil destroy stuff and move on different terrain. I just finished watching battlebots 2018 and thought Red Devil is a little to complex and fragile for the arena, but outside of it it may actually be the best!
Man, I really love machines. I'm a huge nerd and anime style mechas will probably always be my ideal, but even something like a little battle bot gives me the same tingle in my heart ♡
