We've seen with the Merry that Usopp is very stubborn when it comes to protecting the things his friends have entrusted him with, even when he probably shouldn't. We've also seen that even when he's scared shitless, Usopp stands on business. I think his first instinct would be to try and trick the enemy, to weasel his way out of it in some way.

Kamusari is Thunder Bagua with a sword, this was Luffy and Kaido Round 1 except Kidd isn't getting the chance to train. This really helped put Roger's version into perspective because Oden did not know what Roger hit him with and only bounced back fast because he is Oden. Also, I know it was an animator choice but it would be cool if a secondary reason Shanks can pull up on people like a God of Wind is due to an attribute of his sword, Gryphon.
@@KosmicJr100 actually most slashing attacks don't leave cut marks because one piece rarely ever depicted brutaly. What makes you think that Kidd doesn't come back? We see the fake Kid pirates a few chapters back with demalo black. The last time they cosplayed the strawhats got a major power up. Oda isn't doing this out of accident.
I remember many many times when slashing attacks left cuts.
Remember, Luffy was barely dodging thunder bagua on the roof and Kaido said "good job, you learned not to get hit directly" (paraphrased) So I'm thinking it might be like that too.. everyone forgets luffy was still defeated 4 or 5 times on the roof before his awakening
@@ilikechicken5524why do you people keep comparing Kidd or anyone else to Luffy? These people are not the main character of the manga, they will never match Luffy's progression. Law, as much as I love the character, isn't gonna go on some massive training arc with his crew and come back to beat Blackbeard, it's the final stretch of the story and he's likely peaked in terms of power progression. Same for Kidd, he's not gonna magically get strong enough to beat Shanks. Neither are gone from the story, Kidd will definitely be part of the Elbaf story in some way and Law will be back as well. They were never Luffy's rivals, hell Law is more or less part of the crew he's just super tsundere about it. Luffy only has one rival and it's Blackbeard.
I think shanks attack did cut it was showing it being split, I think divine departure is kind of like the giants attack condense attack of conquerors haki. Yes the weapon did explode but you see shanks haki knocking individual out and blowing them away.
It is exactly like his biggest attack on the pirate warriors game. He swings and intense haki explodes out in a circle with red lightning everywhere. The game devs have really been in the know for so long. Look it up if you haven't seen it. Shanks attacks in pirate warriors 3 and 4

The gun simply got hit by a slash shaped advanced haki.
It wasnt "cut" with the blade. The gun, Kidd, and Killer a god hit and none of them were cut besides the gun because thats what it looks like when a slash shaped haki beam goes though it. Killers weapons also crumbled simply from the haki. This is a haki attack. Get over it. (The giants attack isnt swordsmanship neither but that isnt the same imo) giant use their insane physical strength Shanks is just using his insane haki as we all have been saying for decades that that's his fightibg style not fucking red haired swordstyle fancy mihawk bullshit. The gun litterally exploded because of ryou before it exploded because of the energy. Kidd got hit directly by the attack and his lights went out from the internal and physical HAKI damage. NO cut on his body (BIG FUCKING DEAL). Killer jumped on and the anime quickly showed Killer's weapons get hit by the haki Aoe and EXPLODE too. No cut on Killer and he's fucked too.
All these shit happens and you want to argue it's a cutting attack because 1 thing on the ship got cut from the basic sword swing while everything else that got hit directly fucking exploded with haki without being cut? 😂😂😂

Jozu blocked his attack before it could do anything. That event alone set the narrative tone for where Mihawk really stands. And nobody, literally nobody, has said or implied or ever treated him like he's a Yonkou level fighter. When they tried to kill him, who did they send? They didn't send an Admiral. They didn't send Garp, they didn't send Seraphim, they sent a bunch of mooks and he ran instead of fighting. Nobody thought to themselves 'With The Admirals and Mihawk we can defeat Whitebeard'.
If you want Wishful thinking, its everyone who thinks that holding a title and a reputation actually means what it says on the tin. Its the same logic that makes Buggy look fearsome to anybody who doesn't know the truth. Mihawk is gonna fall to Zoro, probably sometime soon. Honestly Kid would have done well against a buster call or any other pirate on the seas.
Divine departure is an adv CoC Haki attack so the slash hits first, then a CoC haki explosion. For example when Roger used it against Oden he slashes him and then Oden' is blown through the trees, now in my opinion this is why I believe this is how the attack works. A slash won't necessarily knock an opponent flying, when Mihawk slashes Zero he doesn't get blown back but was defeated easily, Shanks and Rodger are the only ones ive seen use a slash attack infused with haki and the opponent explode backward on impact from the CoC haki.

They would have sacrificed something to save their captain. In the Kuma situation, Zoro put his swords on the ground and gave his own life to save Luffy. Sanji was putting his life to line as well. The crew giving Shanks the poneglyph rubbings is their way of saving their captain. That's their sacrifice.
Kid just shouldn't have been this reckless. He was up against a crew he already lost against and he brought down Killer with him cuz of it. Even though Shanks was clearly much stronger, he collected intel about Kid before engaging and this wasn't even a fight and that's with Ben, Roo and Yasopp chilling. I would say that the crew is more loyal to Kid than Kid is towards his own crew

Epic scene for sure. Glad that the Anime clarified that Shanks did not 'one tap' Kid and Killer with his attack. If you look closely it was just as myself and others theorised after the manga depiction. Shanks used his own attack to rebound Kidd's attack causing a double damage that was strong enough to take down Kidd, Killer and with its aftereffects including the CoC from Shanks his attack to take down fodder members of Kidd's crew aswell.
Wouldn't make any sense character wise compared to the other Yonko if it really was a one shot attack. Kidd was able to take attacks from Kaido and Big Mom. The Yonko are supposed to be relative to each other, otherwise it would've just make the power balance not right anymore.

Having information prior to using observation haki probably helps the future sight. Information and knowledge are important themes this arc. Just like information had a great impact on Bonney's fruit and the way she uses it, information might have other consequences. A great exemple of this would be how kaido's crew uses ancient zoans. They think they know how dinosaurs were which influences their devil fruits. But we have in fact seen normal dinosaurs on little garden and the triceratops certainly did not fly like an helicopter. This would also explain how luffy's beliefs influenced the nika fruit since he did think it was the gum gum fruit. Also, on an unrelated note, Shanks is clearly uncomfortable while speaking to his allies. He seems at ease with his crew but something about his demeanor suggests he doesn't really care about the people in his fleet. Perhaps he just needs theirs ships further down the line, maybe to carry the One piece or something. Whatever it is, shanks clearly gives off ''wolf in sheep's clothing'' vibes.

Yall are grasping at straws so bad. There is NO CUT on Kidd OR Killer. Yeah if you look closely Shanks swinging his sword cuts things because Shanks is just strong but HIS ATTACK is haki. The weapon got hit by haki, it didnt get cut into pieces and then explode. It exploded because the attack is advanced ryou infused with acoc. Killer jumped in to try and block the attack and his weapons also explode. No cut. Both of them got FUCKED up physically and internally from the force of the haki.
NO CUT ON THEM.
In the manga it was even more obvious.
He throws a haki slash, the haki basicky melts through the weapon and hits Kidd and you see him being fucked on impact. 0 cut.

Kidd was just like shanks in the beginning but apoo was a mole. Which caused Kidd to lose to kaido the first time.
Im not a Kidd stan. Though I do not doubt Kidds ability. I think the reason I like Kidd is cuz he does embody that Pirate spirit and what it’s like to be a pirate. Had it been anyone else for sure Kidds chances would’ve been higher. And I actually like Killer but I think Oda just really does not like the Kidd Pirates lol. I wish he would’ve at least drawn to set up Killer to convince Kidd to back down but nope just straight up obliteration. I also think this is where the difference lies in each of the 3 Luffy, Law and Kidd. 3 diff paths 3 billion bounties 3 different battles (of course plot armor for the straw hats) but 2 faced Yonkos while One crew is facing The Government its self. Tbh (I know this is head cannon) I also don’t think this is the end of the Kidd pirates. Shanks was cold and the way they drew his decision almost felt like “f I didn’t want that” so what if Shanks tells one of the crews to save the Kidd pirates at least from drowning what they do from there is on their own accord. I think that’d be dope.
I know Roger was like the all-time great pirate but that Divine Departure from Shanks felt weaker than Rogers. Oden went thru several giant ass trees and Kid just went thru a couple of wooden pillars. Also that attack should have knocked everyone out or at least no one should be standing from that at all.

For my part (I don't read the manga), the more I advance in One Piece, the more I wonder about Shanks. Sure, the character is charismatic, funny, and has a past linking him to Luffy in a way, but some episodes started to make me doubt 'who' Shanks really is. After all, apart from the film Red, we really have little information on the character's background.
And I repeat, certain episodes started to make me think: but who is he really and is he the character he lets us see in the few episodes in which we have seen him?

To me it seems kids attack didn’t explode until we saw the massive circular explosion, all the destruction before that was done by haki as it was red lightning, not the purple effect kids’ attack had.

I wonder who made the storyboard? IMO the animation carried this episode, I don't like the storyboarding here. I think because I was expecting too much especially seeing from the Manga. I expected COC haki still oozing the moment Shanks was walking towards Kid's Crew, I expected Kid's crew passing out the moment the Griffin Aura came out, I expected a slashing aura of Coc haki slicing it's path the moment Shanks release it just like Rogers, I expected Henry Thurlow's Aokiji aura animation or Rayleigh's Aura facing Blackbeard like for Shanks, I expected Shanks crew standing menacingly looking at Kid's Crew the moment Rockstar called Shanks to get back to the ship. I don't know man, If I would be the one making the Storyboard I would really made it more badass and cold.

And remember Kid has no idea how shanks is we didn't know, think about shanks could easily beat anyone so it's not a surprise Kid lost but Shanks Haki gave him that moment when you gave an opening for a Haymaker. So now we take Kaido Mom and Shanks away, Kid Law Luffy and Trafalgar would be Yonko in my opinion

The anime is fun to watch but is not canon. I dont take any special move/technique effects or environmental damage in the anine as canon, just the artist's interpretation to make it bombastic.
