I've enjoyed everything I've read by Emily & Austin. I haven't read the Roughest Draft yet, but I've read quite a few of their other books and had a good time with all of them. They somehow managed to avoid most tropes that I hate.
🌻Another great video Ashley, I love your try a chapter and unhaul videos. I knew you had a lot of books but I didn't know about your secret stash in the closet. 🤣 I am kind of tempted by Partners in Crime though.
Small Town Big Magic was pretty good. Not the best but I did enjoy it the second one was around the same maybe a little less. The third one has just come out recently and I haven’t had a chance to read it yet.
I'll be interested in your Hangman's Daughter review to see if you liked it. I feel like you're a really good judge of what's good writing so that's awesome 🌻🌼
First of all, adore your earrings. So cute! Second, dear Lord woman, you have a LOT of books. I now feel very strongly that we are not maximising the amount of space in our house where books could be stored, having seen that you even have books in your wardrobe. Third, married couple authors don't have to be ick. Ilona Andrews, hello? I'm sad that a book so pretty as that swan one was a dud - it seems like such a waste. I have Partners in Crime and A Love Song for Ricki Wilde on my TBR (finally read Seven Days in June - it was good!) and I'm glad they ended up in your save pile.
Thank you! My friend Jessy made them. She also made yellow ones with silver dots, those are my favorite. She made them for our whole book club! I'm running out of space for all my books so I'm starting to get creative 😂 I actually thought about the Andrews after filming, but they don't feel icky to me! Something about this specific couple being married is giving me that feeling I guess, I don't know why!
@@theanswerisbooks To be fair, Ilona and Gordon seem to enjoy spending time in each other's company. Based on something Teresa said on a Cannonball Zoom one time, I suspect these two authors have a much more tempestuous (at least in public, at signings) relationship.
Well, I definitely took the Star Crossed Romance off my TBR. And The Roughest Draft, honestly. Lately normal romances just don't do it for me. Fun stuff, excited to see what else you do :)

Ooh, I forgot that I had read the Hangman's Daughter until you started describing it. I will admit I use the try a chapter videos as a reminder to try a chapter on all books in my tbr stacks that haven't been tested yet. It was only five tonight! So all set for no reminders for a while.😊
@@theanswerisbooks Exactly that! I make a guess on how interested I'll be when I get to it, considering seasons and relationship to other books in the stacks. Although it's mostly about the unhaul.
Interesting! I’ve only read fully The Roughest Draft of those and I’m interested in your final opinion. But I have also had The Hangman’s Daughter on my TBR loosely for a decade. So maybe I should read it October/november? Those are often depressing book months for me.
@@theanswerisbooks less the ick more just the eye roll. I read an interview with them after reading this and rolled my eyes so hard I’ve ignored every other book they’ve written.
I haven't watched Fleabag either, but I have experienced hot priests both IRL and in other books/media. The hot priest in The Hacienda definitely couldn't get married!
I was like, how can I teach Zoomers about TLC? And I just heard Chilli in my head, "Lisa BURNED the house down." I haven't seen that in over twenty years and it just popped right in 😂 I had misremembered it as being from a Behind the Music but I found it in the end.

That's good to know! But tropes are so personal. There's ones that I looove that other people haaate.

Everybody has a secret stash! Or piles. Or both. I have both.

aww I love this series, great to hear your thoughts!! 🌸
Thank you! 😊

Thank you for remembering that GenX exists!!
People forget? I feel like Millennials shouldn't. We grew up with Gen X-ers as the cool, young adults we watched on TV and in the movies.

The problem is that most of the normal romances are soooooo normal that it's like, what is even the point of this.

Pippin is sooo cute!! Also, I can relate with having to do something and then end up taking a 3 hour nap lol
They just released a study saying adults who take naps have bigger, healthier brains as they age! We are good to go.

Also love your questions and system!
