im so glad someone finally said this, i feel like all the "buying my dream wardrobe" videos are people just copying and pasting what's popular on pinterest atm i feel like whenever you try to copy a style or aesthetic exactly you end up with a bunch of stuff you won't even wear in a year
Exactly!! They probably just waste their money for even more views and money
i hope this doesnt sound weird but i feel so connected to u?? like, ur brain just makes so much sense to me. i find myself nodding at every point u make - its like hearing someone articulate my own thoughts in a much better way than i ever could lol. im obsessed w ur style and content, thank u so much for creating it :-)
I feel the same way! fave channel by far :)
THIS IS SO SWEET thank u so much, comments like this is literally what makes me want to keep posting on here :,-)
I soo agree when you said to build up your wardrobe slowly. I remember 2 years ago I started wearing maxi skirts for the first time and I realized I had no good tops to go with them. So I’d spend all my time looking for tops online. Last year in quarantine, I realized holy shit I have so much to go with these maxi skirts now!!! Lol so the lesson here is when you stop emphasizing on “oh my god I need this, I need this now” and just let it happen naturally you will end up getting what you truly want
where did you get your skirts from

just the video we all needed. we definitely need to be more intentional with our clothing options. Don’t buy it because it’s trendy, buy it because YOU love it and want to wear it (,:
I shop on Depop more bc of you, not only to support these shops but because I really love that item and I know I can’t really find it in stores therefore I’ll get a lot more wear out of it.
yes!! something about knowing a piece of clothing is unique makes me wear it so much more
love that you talked about being mindful of what we are buying because it’s very easy for us to rush into things and fall into a consumerist mindset/behavioral cycle. I still tend to waste money on clothing that I end up not even liking by the time I get it but I am still learning to take it slow!
Your outfits are always the best!!!
thank u sm!!
y’all should try selling on vinted if you need to get rid of outdated clothes from like middle school or even clothes u wanna sell for cheaper. even though you are selling it for really cheap the money adds up and that’s how i get money for new clothes :)
I have no idea how to use it but thank you! 😅😅
A part 2 would be awesome! Hearing ppl talk about how they found their style and what they've learned is so interesting.
Honestly I think you've helped stop me from falling into the trap of purchasing clothes to fit with aesthetics etc. Rather then pieces that actually bring me joy. So thank you I'm so much happier and sustainable for it.💕
All of this, but also start with accessories when you're trying out a new style. They're usually cheaper (and take up less space) than full pieces of clothing and its really easy to forget how much small details like that can change up an old outfit. Also I've found that learning the skills to customise my clothes has really helped me to create pieces that bring me joy and are *exactly* what I wanted.
THANK YOU for saying you need to curate these things over time! My big problem with this new "dream wardrobe" trend is the same as yours, it seems to be catered towards trends at the moment and is really based on impulse. My idea of a dream wardrobe is pieces you have picked over time, that are high quality and make you feel comfortable and fashionable. It is mostly timeless and captures your style, and can be switched up every few years with the trends you like at that time. I'm glad that a lot of influencers are thrifting these dream wardrobes, but it still rubs me the wrong way that they're perpetuating this idea of impulse/excessive consumption based on mostly trends, instead of a true dream wardrobe that ideally would stay with you for many years.
Hard agree w all of ur points! I have approached wardrobe building the same way and I’m way more satisfied with the quality of my closet than ever before. I love the fact that I’m essentially not spending any new money on clothes because my pieces are always being recirculated.
i love this. i typically do but clothes when they are on sale and kinda force myself to buy these random items. please make a part 2! i love you
The best advice I ever got :
"get excited about trends that suit your style, but ignore all others"
I take "ignore" to mean - don't feel pressured to buy into a trend you don't like.
Be "aware" of trends of course, but don't feel pressured to buy things bc of a trend.
If something trending is your jam, get excited
If you follow trends (influencers, what brands are pushing) you are going to waste a bunch of money, and have a closet full of stuff you don't like.
i'm only halfway but rly nice video!!! an advice i always give ppl is to not always sell/throw things they're not wearing in a cleansing craze.. if you can afford the space, put things you're not wearing but know are nice pieces or have an attachment to it in a box somewhere, you can go through it a year (or more) later and you might love it!!!
this specially for teenagers/young adults, my mom didn't let me throw clothes she knew where cool just bc i didn't like tham as a teen and i'm so glad!!
yes the idea of not shipping in person other than thrift and vintage has helped me so muc
I really agree with you on on the point about those 'buying my dream wardrobe' videos, obvs everyone can do what they want with their money, but speaking from experience I have tried to dress like an 'aesthetic' before, shopped on retail sites, and I am not kidding I had pretty much gone off those pieces one month after buying them and wore them like a couple times because it didn't feel curated to fit my style but rather some abstract 'aesthetic' so over time it felt like i was wearing a costume. I agree that people should spend more time curating their styles in order to not buy trendy things that won't be trendy in a few months and spending tons of money on things which they will get bored of really quickly! Love your channel btw
i completely relate to only buying one item at a time. I've never been on a huge shopping spree because there are honestly not enough pieces I want at one time to warrant it. i def thought I was weird for that so its nice knowing someone else shops the same way I do, plus it makes the piece I buy so much more meaningful to me when I wait to make sure I really want it.
It took me really long to find out what style I like because I haven't really seen it anywhere and I also got into sewing which means I can customize clothes to fit my aesthetic better. I think it took me so long to find out bc I oftentimes had to ask myself "do I really like this or do I like the way it looks on her and it's not really my style".
thank you for encouraging others to slowly buy pieces rather than impulse or mass buying clothes !!
such good advice! I’ve been only buying second hand for over a year (except for a select few items) and it’s been a lifesaver
I wish I was THIS naturally pretty ugh
Refreshing video on this topic 😌 I've been trying to find my style and build my wardrobe, but have been feeling really overwhelmed with the speed at which some people buy new clothes. Thanks for the reminder to slow down and be intentional!
just wanted 2 tell u that I was contemplating buying a mini leopard print purse online, but then I watched some of ur thrift vids and got inspired to thrift myself. I totally found exactly what I was looking for for way cheaper, so thank-you!! Also i love ur shirt in this vid :"]

heyy i love ur videos ive been watching them since you showed up on my explore page back in December! Anywaysss Maybe you could do a depop video where you go through the process of selling and buying things on there, tips for selling/buying. I have a trunk of clothes that I need to get rid of and Ive already sold some pieces but I have a hard time staying active on that app. Sending you lots of love babes
I’m so glad I found you on UA-cam you help me so soo much on how to yk get a since of what I want for my style to be. Thank youu
i feel like this video was way more helpful than other "building style" videos so thank u!! love ur videos 🥺
I NEEDED THIS I LOVEE UUU
Love this video! I really feel like I'm talking to a friend when I watch your vids, you're not patronising or self important at all lol. i recently went through and binge watched all of your vids and I love them all! I'm so happy for you that your channel is growing, you really deserve it! :) Thanks for the advice, I'm trying to experiment more with thrifting but i find it quite daunting online due to not being able to return and dealing with potentially unreliable sellers :/ also being from the UK we don't have thrift stores here so doing it in person is super hard! thanks again for the advice and being such a cool gal, wish i had a friend like you!
definitely one of my favorite videos by far, thank you so much 💕
i definetly needed to watch this video, ive been super insecure about my style lately and watching your vid has made me feel more better and confident about having my own style

Months ago i saw you in my recommendations and i never regret on clicking your vid!
i agree with literally everything and i think it’s important to think if you really want an item or it’s just a trend
Thank you so much for this video! ❤️❤️
I really needed the last point because I tend to by clothes because it makes me happy temporarily and I really forget the real purpose I’m buying them if that makes sense.

can u do a clothes care type of video pls sry I'm really clueless when it comes to taking care of my clothes
Girl so here me out. I hope you read this because I have a particular situation where building a wardrobe with time can be pretty hard. You see I only can buy clothes when I travel. Where I live the clothes are twice the price as a normal Zara of even H&M and they’re not even that good quality.
I have made like two orders online but again it’s not that practical since it’s all sent on planes and boats that have 1 month to ship 3 shirts and one pair of jeans.
My question is that if I travel let’s say for a month and probably I sort of depend on malls how can I invest smartly on my clothes ?
I know it’s a weird question but I’ve never gotten to improve my style because of it. And even though I have my staple basics I also want to be dressy sometimes and have fun dressing up.
I would love to shop online but I don’t know how trustable it is and how can I achieve that since I’m not that familiar with shops online.
I love ur videos :))(
thank u!!
You just got a new subscriber
part 2:D
