I can understand getting it wrong but then to go through checking valve clearances etc. without noticing? However, if you watch the next vid you'll see this wasn't the biggest problem....
@@championn3c574 Really... Ai... Well I also found the cam gear bolts were loose... Luckily for him I caught it... Could have been his most expensive boat anchor ever..
@@errolpretorius9269 I actually put some loctite on those, it doesn't tell you to in the book but I thought it couldn't do any harm as long as you torque them up before it starts setting. Btw, I've already posted the follow up some time ago, it's on my channel. I'm afraid I didn't do any videos of the reassembly as I'm not that good at commentating while I'm working!
The service manual for early cbxs is unclear on cam installation. It can lead you to install them 180 degrees out. I hear it was fixed in later editions.
When I bought my CBX new for 2000 pounds I forked out 300 pounds for a genuine workshop manual (1980). Now you can download it for free and print it for a tenner.
I had a friend bring his Rebuilt CBx to me get it started. Got it running.. Mechanic who rebuilt his motor had done the same thing...

@@championn3c574 I did the same.. Never hurts to be safe and assured it won't come adrift at 7000rpm.
