I got the Superblast 2 in the summer and I understand why it is always sold out... It makes you question every other shoe choice you have! I usually do my longer goal pace runs in Boston 12's but the Superblast is better... I usually use the Endorphin Speed 3's for easy day runs but the Superblast is better 😂 Full rotation in 1 shoe!! However they are getting worn a bit now and need to protect them so will 100% be looking at those neo Vista's soon! Great video Chris!
Thanks for sharing your experience! It's amazing how one shoe can change your entire running game. Happy running!
Totally agree! How many km do you have in them so far? Mine show no sign of wear and I'm close to 400k in mine. Anyway, solved the problem by ordering a new pair😂.
I prefer the Speed 3 or 4'' for intervals, but I ran a 3:22 marathon in Speed 3 Runshield 1 year ago in October, so got really sad when the bottom rubber started falling off. Luckily I came across a new pair. The old pair is now devoted to treadmill only😅.
@@MusicChristo 550km so far... They are still absolutely fine but I want to make them last as long as possible if hard to find! Love the new colourway though!! My Speed 3's have over 700km in them and are good for easy and on slightly muddy paths as I don't care if they get muddy anymore! Great shoe!! Have not tried the 4's yet
@rupertking6682 Haha, then you sure choose them a lot! Don't really know my mileage on my Speed 3, wasn't until this summer I again started adding shoes on Strava and thus getting more firm control. I rotate a lot though.
Bought a pair of Speed 4 this spring, struggled a lot with chafing/blisters on the heels, still do, but now I just dress up my heels with sportstape to minimize the problem. It still annoys me though😅.
@@rupertking6682 I'm over 1000km on Superblast 1, and they still feel fine.
Magnify Nitro 2 is actually the only Puma I can wear in terms of width. Deviate and Velocity are both way too narrow especially in the midfoot. But just make sure you get the right size in MN2, they definitely fit long. Great cushion, fantastic grip and decent weight. No rocker though, if that's something you like.
Magnify 2 is one of the few Pumas that dont feel quite as thin. Would highly recommend.
Can’t believe I’ve just managed to bag a pair of Superblast 2’s 🤩 New grey / peach colourway. That’s my spring marathon sorted training and race sorted 👌🏻
Thought the magmax would have made it onto your list. Going really well in the shop.
I only have SB V1 and to me it’s just ok for mid/long runs(bit dull though) Don’t get the hype at all and surely V2 is not that much different. Caution for people thinking of purchasing the METARIDE they are a zero drop shoe. Nice review for us non SB advocates 👌
Thanks for sharing your thoughts! It's always interesting to hear different perspectives on shoes, especially when it comes to comfort and performance for long runs.
Got the first colour way of the puma magnify nitro 2 for £58 with your code yesterday. This is my second pair of this shoe. People don't sleep on this shoe.
The Superblast was genuinely innovative by Asics in my opinion.
Great vid Fordy. I got the Metaride and the Glideride 1 around about the same time. I still got the Glideride and I couldn't get rid of the Metaride quick enough .😂 Hard as a rock and super squeaky outsoul.
Just about to start marathon block for spring marathon. About to break out 2nd pair of box fresh Superblast 1 and retire first pair to treadmill.... and I've just recently bought black neo vistas for good measure!!! Superblast 2!? Who needs em 😊
Sounds like you’re all set for an epic marathon block! Those Superblast 1s will definitely carry you through. Best of luck with your training!
I just got a pair of the Magnify Nitro 2s and I love them. Had to go down half a size and get them laced up nice and tight to avoid any slipping. Definitely no problems with narrowness! Really comfortable, warm, snappy, the foam feels very springy too. All that for under £70 with the code (cheers, Fordy!)
@@SimonWilliamsTutor I love them as well. Imo it is one of the most underrated shoe on the market right now
@mananmody9355 But I'm still amazed that Fordy put them in a video of Superblast 2 alternatives.
@ ya they are a different class of shoes.
I have a pair of SB2 and I think they are just ok. They are fast but they feel clunky and are loud. I wouldn't want to use them working up to a marathon but they are decent for long runs during down times.
I say Neo Vista in black all the way! I think the lack of SB2s on sale is going to have people looking elsewhere in the same way that those missed out on the SL Evo is going to have people looking elsewhere and it’s great news for other brands. That Neo Vista is just as versatile as the SB I think and what with codes and Black Friday round the corner there are gonna be some sweet deals to be had!
You’ve got me now thinking about the Metaride too Fordy- what a price! #yourewelcome 😂
You make some excellent points! The Neo Vista really does offer great versatility, and with Black Friday approaching, it’s the perfect time to snag some fantastic deals. Exciting times ahead for sure!
Wasn’t sure about the prime x strung 2 at first but I did most of my Manchester half training in them and I ended up getting a PB, a very underrated and misunderstood shoe
It's awesome to hear that the Prime X Strung 2 worked out for you! Finding the right shoe can make such a difference in training and performance. Congrats on the PB!
agreed i know a lot of reviewers went off on it for its weight but if you run fast its a phenomenal shoe at pace.
@@mrp9704 do you have any issue with the carbon plates? Reviews in The adidas website are saying that the carbon plates broke so fast
The Neo Vista is an absolutely brilliant shoe. So versatile, fun to run in and an absolute bargain at the price. 👍
How would you say it copes in the rain? In terms of the sock-like upper, is it any different to a normal upper? Ie does it get soaked right through?
@jconcoffee I have never ran in the Neo Vista during heavy rain but I have run in drizzle while wearing them and it seemed no worse than any of my other shoes. That being said, if the rain is heavy enough, even my Puma trail shoes which are Gore-Tex, aren't 100% waterproof.
Thanks bud. Really like the idea of these for marathon training. I find the Sauciny Speed 4s a bit too rigid for long runs so want something a wee bit softer but still able to push the pace when needed.
managed to pick up the SB2 last week from sport shoes. i haven’t put any miles on them yet saving for next year. i have the kinvara pro very good shoe enjoyable to run in
Thank you for this amazing and informative video. Really appreciate you taking time out to share these shoes with us. Legend 👏 🙌 🔥
Thank you so much for your kind words! I'm glad you found the video informative. It was a pleasure to share my thoughts on these shoes!
Thanks for the list. Asics doesn't even make the SuperBlast 2 in a US Men's size 14, so I haven't been able to buy the shoe myself. You've made a great list here.
I'm glad you found the list helpful! It's a shame about the sizing; hopefully, Asics expands their range in the future.
The Superblast 2 is the king of kings. Got 2 pairs, picked up an extra pair just to have when they restocked before Manchester Half. Now that it is getting icy here in Denmark, it really shows an extra layer with the AHAR Plus rubber. The Hyperion Max 2 is constantly sold out in my size, it is a bit like stock issues like Asics!
I think the great list! My choice would be the Boston 12😊
Woo first comment! Love this. Desperate for the SB2, but can't find it anywhere... Great video for alternatives!
Thanks for being the first to comment! I'm glad you found the video helpful for alternatives. Keep an eye out; the SB2 might pop up when you least expect it!
I was a lucky one. Found my pair in my size and in my favorite colorway on discount for 168 Euro.
Wish you all good luck cause the shoe is really good. Good alternative in my opinion is Puma Diviate Nitro 2. I can do everything in the Puma, same as the Superblast.
Superblast is sure better for recovery run and Diviate Nitro is better for sprints.
That's awesome to hear! Finding the right shoes at a discount is always a win. Thanks for sharing your insights on the Superblast and Puma Diviate Nitro 2!
where did you find it ?
@MehdiSoufiane-g4b Cause i'm from Germany I don't know if this helps you... the saler was a company called Sport-Conrad.
ASICS released some more SB2 on their site over the weekend. I was able to snag the black color way. Can’t wait to see what the hype is all about!
That’s awesome! The black colorway is such a classic choice. I’m excited to hear what you think once you try them out!
Thanks Fordy just bagged a pair of those cheeky Metarides😍……and I used your code, it’s a win win😂😂
enjoy
On the asics page in my country they still have quite a bit of stock in larger and smaller sizes so I made to grab a couple of pairs in my size. They are the Swiss Army knife of running shoes, they can do it all.
NeoVista in black and its large reflective sections awesome, only reason SB better option would be full marathon. my go to tempo and interval shoe this year, rebelv4 mach6 catching dust
The NeoVista really does have a sleek design! It's great to hear it's your go-to for tempo and interval training. The reflective sections are definitely a nice touch for safety too!
Thanks maybe also simply the Novablast 4
I agree with a lot of what you are saying I run in 3 of those shoes Boston 12, Kinvara pro and the Hyperion max. 3 great shoes.
I run a Magnify Tech 2 in my Puma rotation week.. great shoe ❤
Thanks Fordy. I always appreciate your take on shoes.
I’m glad you enjoy my insights! Shoes are such an important part of our style, aren’t they?
I've got 60 miles in my Hyperion Max 2. Definitely a great shoe, but my feet hurt after any run over ~8 miles long. An orthotic insole may fix that, but I have a Superblast 2 on the way. Hoping it keeps my feet feeling better after those "longer" runs.
It sounds like you're really putting those shoes to the test! Hopefully, the Superblast 2 will provide the comfort you need for those longer runs. Good luck!
@FordyRuns For sure! HM2 is a fast shoe. I love it for intervals, and it had the best upper by far; I just wish my feet liked it for long runs. I have one 4 mile progression run in the Tempus 2. I haven't had it long but it felt great. Will need to do a long run in that soon. I have a Hurricane 24 for easy runs and a Endorphin Pro 4 for race days. Very anxious to see for myself how the Superblast 2 compares to all of the above.
I have the Superblast v1, and the brooks HM2 kicks it into next week, not even close!
Bought SB2 for £160 but couldn’t get past the fact they looked like clown shoes on me so sold them for £250 and got Adios Pro 3 for £175 and Magnify Nitro 2 for £58 👌
The MetaRide has to be one of the worst shoes I have bought. Hard as hell and squeaky when wet. I just use them for going to work and back, walking only!
I did run a marathon in Kinvara pro and it's really good.(I bought it after I watched your review earlier in this year). My PB in half and full marathon are in the Kinvara pro. I ran 2 half marathons in Superblast 1 and I found Kinvara Pro was much more stable so I decided to use Kinvara pro for my full marathon. Currently Kinvara pro in Thailand is on sale, less than 90 GBP for the old colors.
That's awesome to hear! The Kinvara Pro really seems to be a game changer for your marathons. Congrats on your personal bests!
@@FordyRuns Thank you very much!
Puma magmax nitro and adizero SL 2 are THE BEST
Running Warehouse in the US has the black colorway in stock for most sizes. :)
Thanks Fordy. Like from 🇪🇸 Spain. Cheers.
Thank you for the support from Spain! I appreciate you tuning in!
Tired of waiting for the superblast 2 and got the magicspeed 4 instead for my workouts. Very comfortable and feels fast for threshold and race pace. Novablast does the rest.
Puma deviate nitro2 is on sale right now, might get a 3rd pair before they discontinue it, dn3 went more narrow so it's a no go for me. Just received zoomfly 6 but haven't ran on it yet still injured :(, feels good on the foot so far, it's quite tall thoug, kinda alphafly3 feel but taller.
I think I’m one of the few people who did not like the Glideride V1… then again, I don’t like a super bouncy shoe. Love the Kinvara pro and currently using the forever run (which I got on sale for $115 cdn).
It's interesting how personal preferences can vary so much with shoes! The Kinvara Pro is a fantastic choice-it's great to hear you found a pair that works for you.
Another pair id suggest is Adizero SL2
Enjoyed the vid but If you wanna try something totally different I’m enjoying running in the asics nossa tri 16
Pagey is always selling the Kinvaro Pro to me. I'll have to give them a try!
No version coming wait for Mondays pod
Brilliant 👍
No not frustrated as have the 1st version in my rotation and so many pairs of other great shoes, won’t play the marketing drip feed game, create the hype and wait for mugs to pay crazy prices, buy something else. They are great shoes but so many others available 🎉 we are spoilt for choice right now
agree with most of them, except for the Kinvara Pro and the Metaride.
I remember the Metaride as that overly heave with too much tech in it, it was weird when I tried them on the store, un-natural. At 86£ it's cheaper than the superblast, yes, but not sure if it's an alternative to the superblast. Just way to heavy to be versatile. For easy runs, maybe..
I prefer the Kinvara Pro a little over the Superblast I have both and ran my first marathon in Kinvara Pro last year.
Magnify 2 certified awesome shoe. I’ve got hobbit feet and don’t find them narrow, and they certainly have a certain spark about them. 🎉
So glad to hear you love the Magnify 2! They really do have a unique charm that makes them stand out.
@@FordyRuns is it me or is there a strange bulge in the front of the Magnify 2 when you first wear them? Only purchased a pair last week and under the toes there’s like a bump (bulge) of foam which I haven’t experienced in other runners. Enjoyed my first run in them all the same.
But hobbits dont use shoes...!?
Never noticed that in my pair @@chrisomahony9674
Asics have stock again at the moment. Just snapped up a pair. Been living off a stock of Invincible 2s I built up so need something. Bought Hoka Clifton 9s but don’t love them (bit firm and don’t keep me on my toes)
Bought two pairs of Novablast 3 for £134, they are in my opinion a very good shoe, are the Superblast shoes worth the extra ? it's debateable 🤔
Would the Fujispeed 2 awesome orange trail shoes be good for comfort and everyday use?
Thanks for the tips! What is this Adidas Prime X Strung 2 replacement you mentioned?
FYI - Superblast stock is low in the US as well. But what I don't get - is that it costs USD $200 that is just £154...
Thanks for the info! It’s always interesting to see how prices vary across countries.
It’s because ours have to be right hand drive
I had a horrible experience with metaride, I was using evoride for easy runs and had metaride for long runs. It was very heavy . I’m sure the other options will be better than this old bulky shoe from ASICS
Skechers Razor Excess 2 for me is super dope for a bit of everything
Glad to hear you love the Skechers Razor Excess 2! They really are versatile for any activity, aren’t they?
@ super versatile and comfortable
Nice vid! Which one would you say is closest to the Hoka carbon X 3?
Thanks for watching! The Hoka carbon X 3 is a fantastic shoe, but I’d say the Saucony Endorphin Pro comes pretty close in terms of performance and feel!
Just watched as instructed on the live stream yesterday! Great video, how long do you think you can go in Hyperion Max 2 and Boston 12? I love my Boston 12 but never gone past half marathon distance in them.
I ran 2 marathons in Boston 12, plus the 20-35km long runs in preparation.
Ive done 18 and 20 miler in both
@@FordyRuns nice one, thanks. I must have dreamt thinking the Brooks aren’t great past a half distance 😂
@@PVCanciu thanks mate, love them as a shoe. They’re a great price too.
I currently have the brooks glycerin max but looking for something that I can really pick up the pace in. Would the Boston 12 do the job? TIA
I have superblast 2 and I find them very firm. I'm only 9 st 5 - do any other small runners find them harsh to run on?
Metaride apparently is very heavy and hard under foot
I sold mine, not as good as the hype IMO. Prime X2 Strung is a far better long run offering 👌🏻 I've entered your comp for some coaching, please can I win 😜
Thanks for sharing your thoughts! It's always interesting to see different opinions on gear. Good luck in the competition!
I like it, but the Prime X 2 strung blows it out of the water! It's a true 'do it all shoe', so I'm hunting for another discounted pair.
Still buying the SB 1 used on ebay.
Thanks for the update! It's always interesting to see how the SB 1 continues to find new homes on eBay.
MagMax Nitro ❤
MagMax Nitro is definitely a game changer! What did you think about it?
22 million gets me every time 💀
Hopefully this time next year rodney
@ Bonnet de douche 👌🏼
Could you make video with best nonplated shoes that are great like the super blast I have love my Original super blast but have not been able to get my size in the 2 so I’m a looking for more non plated shoes to train in
Nice info, I just got the Puma Manify Nitro 2 for £65 @ start fitness! Bargain!!
Would you put the Metaride as a heel strikers shoe.
Zoomfly 6 doesn’t make the grade?
No
Interesting suggestions. Anything coming from Skechers? The Maxroad 6 has been out for about 2 years now.
Next spring
Is there actually info out there about a Boston 13?
A nice list of shoes not as good as the Superblast 2 😂
Cheers Fordy and good list. Also do you have a running club in Leeds?
We do based at the rhinos stadium free to attend etc
@@FordyRuns how can I get some more info please?🙏
@@dominicwalton8189 drop us an email hello@fordyruns.com
@ I’ve emailed but not heard anything back
is the kinvara pro firm? narrow?
The Kinvara Pro does have a firm feel, and it can be a bit narrow depending on your foot shape. It’s always a good idea to try them on if you can!
22 million subscribers??? U have 43k right now.. am I watching the wrong channel ? Second channel?
Yeah 22 million by this time next year which is a reasonable plan
My advice, don’t buy into the hype. I own a pair of SB2s. Worn them on 4-5 runs. I don’t really understand the hype if I’m being honest 🤷🏻♂️. Might even sell them at a loss.
Have a look at the other options
@@FordyRuns yea I own a pair of Adidas Takumi Sen 10s, Nike invincible 3s, and ASICS Magic Speed 4s. I’m really enjoying the Takumi Sen 10s. Thinking about a pair of adios pro 3s or a pair of Evo SL when they become available.
The Hype is Real😅. But of course, it all depends...Btw, the Adios Pro 3 is an excellent choice, ran a 3:17 in Frankfurt marathon quite recently.
The best shoe for recovery after marathon though is SB2 😂. The week after Frankfurt I ran a regular 75K week, even a 24K longtrip, in SB2, naturally😉.
Lmao stop trying to be edgy dude it’s weird 😂
I’m the same … they are awful to run in, it’s like wearing a pair of moon boots … they look massive on your feet too! 🤦🏻♂️
What about the Novablast 4 or 5!!!!!!!!
The superblast 2 isn’t something spectacular. I had it for a bit and returned it. It’s just high stacked. I didn’t like how firm it was
Missed out the Skyflow X....
It happens to the best of us! There will always be more opportunities in the future, so keep your eyes peeled!
I think the Topo Specter 2 is a perfect Superblast 2 repplacement
SB1- overhyped. Stick with a Novablast
SB2- no interest
why can't Asics produce more superblasts? it makes no business sense.
Superblast are abit over hyped imo , no better than the rebel 4 or speed 4
I won't wearing my Superblast 2 to Tesco!
try it ... it will change your life hahahahahahha
Ford, Have spent £180 on me Superblasts, they are far too good for Tesco other than running there for ones small item.. 😁
How is Harry and Jamie? ⚽
I played golf once with Harry, lovely guy
@FordyRuns Class 👌🏿
Really enjoy these videos but pushing brooks, feels obvious.
not sure what you mean but thanks
Got to check my boy Yowannas supwell ap. Got a pair of superblast 2s for a great price
Awesome find! The Superblast 2s are a great choice. Hope they serve you well!
Change the title. You do not need the click bait ("shock you"). For sure nobody is shocked. Maybe just interested.
Did you like the video?
@@FordyRuns I did like the video and pressed the like button. I disliked the title. You provide good content, you do not need such texts to attract the audience. Thanks!
Does anyone know if Asics will get more superblast 2 in stock ?
They regularly come into stock in low volumes if you keep checking the ASICS site. I had the opportunity to buy a UK9 2-3 times in as many weeks. I’m struggling to wear out my V1’s. First pair 500+ miles and go fine.
