Big respect to the player who was struggling in the second-to-last game. Could have just packed it in, but he really put up a fight that was extremely entertaining to watch. Wish we had gotten to see more of that scrappy defense that was taking shape in game 3 before gg was called. It really felt like there could have been some interesting potential there after those defensive units started engaging.
Hey Lowko, I do enjoy your SC2 casts, been watching them for quite some years by now. I actually don't watch other casters anymore, only very rarely. Sometimes I like to watch Uthermal or Harstem (mainly is it imba), but only occasionally. But I do want to give you a little bit of critique, lately, maybe about a year or so, you seem to make these clickbait titles for the videos, that for me gives many times an expectation of something that rarely seems to deliver. Anyway, great casts, but I do hope you consider if your titles are the ones that bring you spectators, or if you have already such a commited audience that it seems irrelevant. I'd rather name this game something like "Reynor and Maxpax very tight game".

Maxpax has been watching too many hero replays. Must be so frustrating as protoss, you stop zerg run by 19 times, but on the 20th attempt 50 probs go down and its game over.
Reynor: 700 *avg* APM ?!?!? How's that possible? That's 11.7 actions _per second_ ! On average !

It’s inflated and not actually real. It’s certainly still impressive, but because it’s an average there are higher and lower peaks. Repeat rate is a concept you should wrap your head around too. Zerg has more instances than the other races of repeating commands. For instance if you want to make drones with 18 larvae, you would press S and hold D for a second or two. The rate at which the game registers how many times you press D is directly impacted by the keyboards refresh rate. So you could register 30+ actions just by holding down the D key. To us, this is just one action. But the game APM meter picks up all of this and clocks it as so.
And yes, the early game APM spamming is a real thing too, but that doesn’t make it any less impressive either. The theory goes that they spam mouse clicks and rapidly select/deselect things in the first 3 minutes as fast as they physically can so their muscles are warmed up like tires on a car that way come 12 minutes later they can execute advanced micro and macro.
700APM is no joke tho. Even if his effective APM is half that, even a quarter of that, it’s still several actions a second. Compared to your average ladder hero that will struggle to even get 100+ APM, it’s damn impressive by any metric.
@@italicxd I know I know, but at most they'll make 50-100 zerglings, i.e. 25-50 eggs twice a minute (larva inject cooldown is ~30 s) and that's unusually many, which would inflate APM by just 50-100. Of course there's also baneling-morphing etc., but still.
Also, I remember Reynor being around 500-550 for many years (not 100% sure tho), so I'm surprised to see this jump to 700.

Man... MaxPax seems to be very annoying to play against as a Zerg. He uses the same opener every game but you can barely do anything against it and if you even slightly slip once you're down 10+ workers and basically dead...
I always find myself rooting against Protoss for some reason. I seem to dislike them on a visceral level. 😂
Newb question. Why are there never any mirror matches between these top players?
25:50 best unit in the game is misleading. There should be categories. Stalkers are main fighting units and oracles are special tactics units.
