Heyo! This is the first of the new video formats. No more part 1/2/3 segments for videos. I've always wanted to work in this format of ultra long form content. Moving forward (at least, until the algorithm gods dictate otherwise) all games covered will be done in a single video, even if they're over 2 hours long. Next up is Ghost of Tsushima!
Tbh I think I prefer the multi part aspect, cause I can watch as video on my lunch or whatever, then I can put the same part on when I got to bed for back noise while I fall asleep. And as much as i appreciate a super long video i am going to miss the broken up format which made it easier to digest all the info. :/

Just gotta appreciate how bad ass the visial mask acting from Lance as Sylens is? Dude is straight up power play staring down a woman that knows he knows she knows he can't hurt her. Has lived his whole life without a invulnerability shield and is absolutely confident in his ability to not only survive, but win against people who can't be hurt at all without special conditions being met. Just love how it is portrayed. Bevause if all he has to do is meet a special condition, its childs play for him. Hes shown to be a master of navigating those circumstances so deftly. Too bad we won't get Lances performance in the third game. Like even if you hate Sylens you really cannot deny that he really is the single smartest person in any given room it seems, EVEN when he has NO information on whats going on. He picks it up so fast its exceedingly deadly. Tilda knew from her first encounter he was possibly the worst enemy the Zenith could face. Everyone else is playing Chess and hes playing 5-D Shogi, he really can't be compared.
Sylens is not a likeable person at all, however I could watch him play off Aloy all day long. They are such a good match for each other, and I don't think he'd work as well if Aloy wasn't nearly as smart as he was (or just as smart). Aloy often outplays him - and that is only because she thinks of solutions that he dismisses as being soft, which is perfect for his character as well as his upbringing as a Banuk. I also like that Aloy learns from Sylens' arrogance - he outsmarts her and gloats, but she finds ways to one up him. That little rivalry humanizes Aloy in subtle ways if you're not paying attention. She often just genuinely dislikes Sylens but she also kind of admires him and comes to enjoy their little chess games that they play with each other because he is the only person that has been able to keep up with her wits.
Very well done. One of the best story breakdowns of Forbidden West I've seen. Though how dare you leave out Aloy and Seyka's kiss at the end. 😅. That's the true ending in my eyes, and I really hope we see more Seyka in Horizon 3
Phenomenal work, and I really appreciate the longform video format rather than breaking it up into multiple videos. Hope this format works best for your metrics and such.
Genuinely i never knew about Errands companion mission. I always cleared out the camps but never knew you could decript a focus at the base 😂 i need to atart up a new save and play that mission
The desire to play the FW DLC is so great that I have a hard time stopping myself from buying the game on PC, there just aren't enough games I want to play on the PS5 to justify the $500 cost.
You're missing out! The Horizon world is incredible and wonderful to get lost in. And I say that as someone who knew the entire plot before I first played Zero Dawn. I'm now at over 100hrs on both games.

The passing of knowledge is something sacred, and there’s mad bonus points for being an entertaining repository of knowledge. I'm still waiting for the price of the PS5 to come down before I jump on buying one, and I want to experience Horizon 2 on that platform. Hello! Found you recently via the algorithm gods thinking I wanted a 9hour long video about Zelda lore. I've watched several of your videos and I love your content!
As far as I know Horizon is going to be a trilogy and was pretty much designed from the beginning that way. Although, knowing SONY, they'll demand more and more until the franchise is thrown completely off the tracks and it goes from being beloved to hated. I've been with PlayStation since the original, but anymore SONY is making some truly baffling choices with the platform.
@@ChristopherSadlowski Gawd I hope not - the pushing back of the third game to focus on the supposed online multiplayer is so stupid to me. Online multiplayers do not stay around a long time if they don't get a solid fan base right off the bat. BUT I do hope that Gorilla takes the best of the first 2 games and refine those points more, and are allowed to do it. Like doing a better job with outposts/ bandit camps, by either integrating them better or not using them. And they don't need to make the map any larger than the HFW one. As proven time and again - if the Execs just let the dev teams make games to the best of their abilities, they will have a butt load of success, and the money will just flow in.
I love long-form content. I still preferred the original in terms of gameplay and story but look forward to listening to your lore video in full. Great presentation and you always balance out the storytelling with your personality, it makes it more lively and fun.
I'm not sure if any of this counts as a spoiler, but here's my perspective about Aloy's personality. Side note, this isn't hate to the channel specifically! Tons of people have strong opinions about her, I'm simply offering mine. Don't use this as a jumping point for being mean! Basically, the presentation of Aloy as rude and inconsiderate happens in most videos and that is never going to sit right with me. I get that she's not super personable, but she's got a lot of valid reasons for that, and even so she is highly empathetic. Throughout both games she helps anybody who asks, even the people who have insulted her to her face, despite being on a mission to save the world. She ditches her friends because in her mind, that's the only way to ensure their safety. Not because she doesn't believe they can help, but because she thinks she shouldn't NEED their help. I know she's a fictional character, but she's always felt so relatable to me as an autistic woman. The double empathy problem is very well portrayed with her. She can seem very cold and uncaring, but it's because she doesn't see a point in showing her feelings when there is something to be DONE about it instead. Instead of comforting someone crying, to her it makes more sense to go out and take on whatever caused the tears herself. She only claims the title of Savior when confronted with someone who was an intentional jerk, as a tool to overturn his control. Y'know, I think maybe my therapist would be interested in this rant 😅
All of that aside, this was an excellent breakdown of the vast storylines within the universe! It's a very special series, and if anybody is determined to play the next game without playing the existing ones, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this video to them. Thank you for the hours it took to create!
That's how I feel about Aloy as well! She is a highly empathetic character who often has trouble balancing her need to complete the tasks she thinks she needs to do by herself. A lot of it is baked into her story - she grew up in a tribe that showed her little to no empathy and she was raised by big gruff daddy Rost. She clearly likes people, but doesn't quite know how to deal with them herself. I mean, look what happens when she drops that barrier, for example my favorite uncles from Vegas, her bonding with Telanah, Petra, Kotallo, and Alva in different ways. That prickliness keeps her from being too perfect - if she didn't have that defense from the outset, if she didn't make mistakes like what happened through most of the first part of Forbidden West, then she wouldn't be that interesting as a character. If I was going to break down the storylines from the two games it would be this: HZD - Aloy figures out her past and where she came from. HFW - Aloy finds her own family and learns that it is okay to be her own person - to look to her parents, Rost, Gaia, and Elizabet for guidance, but to be exactly like them and make decisions like them may not be the right path. Horizon III - that will be interesting. Maybe this is where she learns to negotiate and compromise to get what she wants, and to maybe realize that it is okay to find romantic love with someone and to be around them for as long as they would have her. I always asked this of people who thinks Aloy holds the world in contempt - Why would she go through all of that hardship and pain to try to save the world if she didn't like it or the people in it? Elizabet didn't - she chose to restart it, and Sylens is similar. She LIKES people, she doesn't always agree with their views or the dogmatic systems that allow for people to be cruel, and she doesn't suffer fools.
Ah god i love this series so much. Not just for the narrative or the gameplay but how nice and normal the armor looks. It's not outrageously sexual with the weird boob armor or whatever. Anyways I loved the video! keep up the good work!
I have so much high hopes for the finale installation of the Horizon series. The story has me entralled since the furst game the visuals are amazing the machines are perfect. Aloy is a lovable and witty character to be around and watching her go through her struggles ans trumpith over them is so just rewarding. The only worry i have is that this third installment could wind up as how Mass effect 3 went out. I mean im sure everyone remembers that story. They do line up in a similar fashion. TLDR: I love horizon and I hope the devs know how to finish this story on a good note.
I found it odd that Aloy didn't say to Tilda that what she was proposing is exactly what she had done in the past, running away from earth, running away from the problem and going against Liz's wishes to save THIS Earth. Running away with Aloy may have been a second chance to save "Liz", but it was also a second chance for Tilda to stay and help Liz, something she feels great guilt over (or at least so she said). Who knows, if she had stayed the first time, she might have found a way to speed up Horizon Zero Dawn and protect the Alphas (plus Apollo) from Faro as she was an extremely talented programmer/purveyor of sensitive information herself.
My favorite thing about the Zeniths is that they are so incompetent that their power is effectively is rendered meaningless. The only two competent ones, Tilda and Londra are actually scary, but were still held back by their underestimations of their foes.
You want to know something crazy? When I first played Zero Dawn, I used to feel sympathy towards dear old Teddy - yes, he'd been the cause of it all, and he murdered innocent people, but i almost believed that he really was trying to help and makeup for what he did. After Forbidden West, that sympathy died VERY quickly, as you can imagine. I mean, just look at what he did AFTER killing the Alphas, and then he had the arrogance and hubris to try to do what Far Zenith would later do. And the worst part is, it actually worked..... to a point, at least. Although, let's face the facts - he wasn't even human to begin with. That man singlehandedly ended the world, and all he did was try to hide the evidence of it AND prop himself up as though he could've been a god. Now, my headcanon image of what was left of him is what the Rat King looked like in Last of Us 2, little more than a (literal) cancerous blob of charred flesh with no consciousness or recognition
Hey, I did the gameplay recording for this. I decided to push towards Demeter before Poseidon because I ran into way more metal flowers than underwater areas and figured Demeter would be the one to unlock them.
I always got the impression that Alva and her tribe where from the Pacific Islands. There clothes have that feel and it would make sense since none of the people look Asian.
Each of the Eleuthia birthing stations around the world were a mix of DNA, and not solely from their specific nationality! Even though the Quen are from asia, they do not all have asian qualities as the facility was creating humans from a variety of DNA.
the one thing that bugs me about Faro is how lame his golden statue is. Like, just him in a t-shirt and jeans. It's so lame. But within that it's sort of thematic isn't it?
Story of 'now' is really bad in both games. But uncovering what was before collapse and its origin was exciting for me. Also, gameplay is great with machine hunting along with gorgeous views
Howdy, I did the gameplay recording for this. I kept running into those metal flowers everywhere and figured Demeter would be the one to unlock them. Since there were way more flowers than underwater areas, I just pushed for Demeter first.

Let's freakin. gooooo!!! I've been waiting for this for a loooong time
Lance...😭
Hey lady lore can you please do Kingdom hearts all the games in one video in chronological order please and thank you
This was really good I hope you cover the third game
Three hours and forty-two minutes???
let's
Fuckin'
GooOOOOO
3:01:27 didn’t notice the eyebrows till you said something
I can’t believe I watched this in one go.
New bedtime story channel unlocked 😂
Imma drive around the country (🇹🇹) just to listen to this masterpiece
THREE HOURS, GOODNESS HONEY YOU TWO HAVE BEEN WORKING HARD.
Wow what a story. Im only half way thought the first game.
One thing I would love to ask Guerilla Games is, "Why would you want to destroy New Zealand? What did we do?"
To take Sauron out of the picture
@@AndiJNava That makes sense...
So much great story!
I just completet the game heading to the DLC and nice to know what happens with regalla if you do not kill here :D
I think we will get to see Faro! He’ll be the main villain while nemesis will become secondary
Coolest game I never played, I just can't get into open world games.
Ending was super lackluster though.
Thanks for this video :)
MOM DROPPED THE LORE LEZGOOOO
Wooo! This is gonna be great.
Much appreciated ma'am.
Long videos like these are great for listening while on my night shift.
I GASPED when I saw this omg so excited to watch
❤❤❤❤ love these videos keep them coming
Long content indeed. I need popcorn
Feels weird to get posidon after aether and demeter.
Hey, I did the gameplay recording for this. I decided to push towards Demeter before Poseidon because I ran into way more metal flowers than underwater areas and figured Demeter would be the one to unlock them.
@@Viryl_TV Totally understand. Ive gone through the game 3 times at this point and ive always done posidon first because its the closest.
LETS GOOOOOOOOOOOO WOOH YEAH BABYY THATS WHAT IM TALKING ABOUT
Story of 'now' is really bad in both games. But uncovering what was before collapse and its origin was exciting for me. Also, gameplay is great with machine hunting along with gorgeous views
You guys did Demeter before Poseidon?
Howdy, I did the gameplay recording for this. I kept running into those metal flowers everywhere and figured Demeter would be the one to unlock them. Since there were way more flowers than underwater areas, I just pushed for Demeter first.
@@Viryl_TV ah ok that makes sense. Those metal flowers were pretty annoying and if you do Demeter last like I did, the rewards aren’t worth it.
Woooo long form!
OH! HELL!! YEA!!!
Gigidy.
The Utaru got on my nerves, bizarre old conservative hippies 😅
WE EATTEN GOOD LADS AND LASSES!!
This is what I wanted the new starwars to be.
can you stop giving me a panic attack thanks
Nice work! Always wanted to play HFW but I still don't have a PC that can run it, so this video tides me over.
Also, fuck Ted Faro.
