In 1967 Thomas Harris wrote a book about the origin of the I’m not okay state of mind. He talks about how every human being goes through it because as a child we depend on our parents and being dependent reinforces the Im not okay. The parents duty is to teach the child that they are okay. My parents did not know how to do that. It’s a really good book that elaborates on why the Im not okay feeling exists in everyone and is a natural phenomenon.

What if you want to procreate have family
I would ask "Why do you want to procreate?" If the honest answer is because you have love to share and you're experiencing the joy and beauty of life, that's beautiful. No problem. But if the answer is because you feel incomplete, then you've got some work to do. (which doesn't mean you shouldn't have a family.)
