- We love Michael Singer’s work. As long as he and UA-cam allow us to post these videos, we will.
We do not receive ad revenue from these videos, but UA-cam may.
If you would like to learn more about Michael Singer’s work, here are a few suggestions: - Every Sunday, Monday & Thursday, he releases talks at www.tou.org. - Every Sunday, Monday & Thursday night, he gives a live talk at his Temple of the Universe in Alachua, Florida. Anyone can attend for free.
He’s written several books. They are phenomenal, even the ones written in the seventies. (We will receive a commission if you purchase books through these links.)

If you’re wondering what Mickey’s saying at the beginning and end of each talk, it is:
Jai Guru Dev, Jai Masters. Jai Guru Dev is a traditional Hindu phrase that means Glory to the Great Teacher (the most accurate translation would be glory to the shining remover of darkness), where the great teacher here is generally considered to be the Divine Soul, while we, as human beings, are considered the individuated Soul. Jai Masters means Glory to the Masters, some of whom Singer refers to at times.
Thank you for visiting. Peace, my friend.
Micky you are great a blessing to mankind and a beautiful being. Thanks
So profound, these teachings are life changing, grateful beyond measure ❤🥲
Thanks for reminding us that the ways the religious or spiritual leaders tell us may not be the way I need to follow. 🌼Shed away the social pressure from what we should or should not do. Free ourselves instead of setting up more burden. ❤🎉
Amen to that! Singer’s teaching extracts the nuggets of wisdom and truth from the ancient scriptures and, without cultural baggage, presents them as they were intended to be followed.
This talks give me Life 🫶🏼
good luck to all putting this into practice. Grateful for these talks.

I was doing Dr. Joe Dispenza’s meditations and read his books.
I was having difficulty until I listened to Michael talk about energy of past experiences blocking energy moving through the chakras.
I have listened to Michael’s talks over and over, for me that is what I needed to do to understand something that cannot be understood with the mind.
There is a discipline, a practice to listen to the subtlety of self, the mind is loud, obnoxious, and persistent.
I learned over months to relax, and I use the relax and release as a mantra.
Energy flows where attention goes.
I had really bad anxiety, I still have some, no where near what I experienced in the past.
Understanding through Michael’s talks about having an open heart, I knew my heart was closed, I was in actual physical pain in my heart center.
Through Michael’s teachings I have released a lot of samskaras and I could feel more energy flowing.
I was cynical and depressed, and I am moving toward feeling more joy, it is a discipline and I do have to choose where to focus my awareness.
O@@richardhart2291I wish there was a discussion group with you in it . ...Oh, I guess this is it! Your comment is v encouraging. Let's keep going on the path. Thank you.
Dear ‘Seats of Contemplation’ ❣️ Thanks so much for posting these 🤗 I feel BETTER everyday following the heart-felt encouragement❣️ They trigger in me haiku-ish poems 👀 Here’s todays ⬇️
Ignoring ‘the mind’
I turn to my emotions

Thanks so much Michael. Aside from being life saving information this is brilliantly funny!!
Just what I needed, these words. God bless
From the bottom, side, middle, top, mechanical valve of my heart… I THANK YOU for posting these talks! Right to the base of what’s happening… not just the tip! Beyond measure! Discipline!
Ox herding pictures blew my ego away. Life has never been the same since.
Thank you.
Brilliant!!
What a treat 🙏🏻🙏🏻❤️
Thankful 🙏
The thing is I can hear my mind, I can feel my heart, I also started noticing it, whereas before I didn't. But I do not know how to let go and just relax and release.
Basically, you work on not adding new blockages and releasing small blockages.
The technique he calls Relax and Release is:
1- The first step is to NOTICE when your blockages have been hit.
2- The next step is to RELAX. Relax chest, stomach muscles, glutes, whatever you may be tightening.
3- The last step is to RELEASE. You lean away from the disturbance. You don't get into it with your thoughts or actions. You just allow it to flow right through you.
Start with the small things and soon you'll notice you are releasing bigger things. This technique puts you in the mode of "Witness Consciousness" which allows you to view things from your Higher Self without your lower self becoming involved.
This whole talk is about how to avoid/remove blockages: ua-cam.com/video/b4bbMVFKQBQ/v-deo.html
@@SeatsofContemplation thanks, basically my trigger point is almost everything now 😆. Like I'm just going on with my day looking for something positive or negative. I mostly feel my stuff getting hit at work when there is pressure, I basically cannot handle myself. I try to remember to relax and release whenever my inside is getting wild, but I just cannot do it. I instantly go into panic mode with my lower self and get lost. For example the stuff that's getting hit is my inability to handle pressure, how to relax and release when something clearly needs to be done? I need to make the deadlines. I basically watched all your uploads, I think I remember him saying you relax and release first inside and then do the action needed.
@@SeatsofContemplation I'm at the point I think that I'm being spoonfed on my path and how to do it, but I've been doing the bad habits for 99% of my life and it's really hard even just to spot it. I just want to truly live, I feel like I've been living my life with 90% of my energy held back. I want to be able to be of service to everyone. I'm tired all the time. Like he says, even the taste of non-negativity would feel great. My energy level is so low all the time, it's like I only have 5 to 8 hrs for the whole day even if I slept 8 hrs.
@@SeatsofContemplation I realize I am the problem and not everything and everyone else. At least I'm on the right path on working with myself.
@@nigel8221 Start with noticing. Really try and notice when you’re about to lose it or when you’ve just recently lost it. Work on catching yourself in the act of being triggered. And don’t judge it. Don’t stress about it. Just say “Oh, there’s Me, getting triggered again.” Be very casual about it. Laugh at yourself if you feel like it.
When you notice your own behavior, you are the Witness. You are sitting in the Seat of Consciousness. And when you’re in the Seat of Consciousness, you are releasing blockages, even if you don’t realize it.
It doesn’t matter how long you hold it. You’ll eventually stop noticing and go unconscious again. But even if you’re only there for a second, that’s one great second. And the next time, you’ll be there a little bit longer. Eventually, you’ll be present long enough to decide you’re going to handle things differently this time. And you’ll watch the energy trying to come up and you’ll say “I’m not going to push it back down. I’m going to let this thing go.”
Mickey (Singer) said when he worked in an office, he would take a moment to center himself and be present whenever he walked through a doorway and whenever he took a phone call. Maybe you could find a similar routine in your work day.
You are absolutely on the right path! Peace to you, my friend.
It’s remarkable how mystics converge at the same metaphors… ‘your selfishness is an untrained colt,’ writes Sanai …
I am so grateful for all your videos, Michael! This one in particular ❤❤❤❤
Thank you for sharing this.
What are some examples anybody has of different mind, body, and heart disciplines/practices you have (or can think of)? Yes, yes, I know the practice itself isn't the important part but I still want powerful practices.
For me, it's:
1) Relax & Release - the technique of relaxing through a disturbance (Relax your body, lean away from the disturbance and let it pass through.)
2) Meditation - because meditation develops the habit of remaining in the Seat of Awareness which makes it easier to notice when I've been disturbed and to remain centered through it.
Great question. I look forward to seeing what other's recommend.
What is Michael Singer suggesting we read at the 22:00 minute mark? The oxfordian papers? That is very zen…
Got it!
Ox herd pictures…
Do a Google of “ 30:20 ox herding pictures.” It’s an ancient poem with associated pictures. I’d never heard of it before either. Interesting.

I keep listening to these type videos. I struggle with anxiety depression . Therapist and paxil for years. Now lonely in retirement. Desperate for these messages to take hold! If this video shows the way to emotional health, what's with all of the other videos you make. Do i listen to all your videos ?
I listen to Michael Singers talks almost every day. He covers a lot of the same topics but from different perspectives. I find it helps keep me grounded and on the path. I've been listening to him and reading his books for over 10 years now and I can honestly say it has changed my life. I am at peace. I'm joyful and I hope to share it with everyone by sharing Mickey Singer's talks. Hope you enjoy them!
Meditate too!!! It cured my anxiety and depression and I got off all meds for it!
☺️❤️🙏🏼
I’ve been listening for a while now and I find my self confused . Seems he uses different euphemisms inconsistently.
Could you give an example?
@@SeatsofContemplation one thing that confuses me is your not supposed to have desire but when I practice it I find myself slipping into not being responsible.
@@myview4u2think Now I understand your other comment a little better. If your personal mind is telling you that you shouldn't have desires, that's renunciation. That's your personal mind telling you in order to be okay, you have to give up desires. It's a desire to give up desires. (like you said in the other comment) And if you follow this line of thinking it can have unintended consequences like not being responsible.
The highest technique Mickey discusses is to relax and release. When you have the thought about how you shouldn't have desires, relax and let go of the thought. Some uncomfortable emotions may come up as a result. Let them come up. Just sit with the uncomfortableness and allow it. Don't let your mind grab onto it. It will pass.

It seems like some of this stuff comes down to very secular and modern philosophies on the power of self discipline like something you might here from one of these self improvement motivational people (jocko willink, David goggins, etc.)
What is the Swami Weightlifting he's referring to? I can't find it
@thecelebrationdj
Tap on the word more, scroll down and tap transcript, go down to minute 35.
That is where he mentions a 90 year old yogi that should not be able to weight lift, because he has the pranayama, life force to do it.
@@richardhart2291 right but is there a video he's referring to?
What are the Oxerdian (?) Pictures @ 23 mins?
He is referring to the 10 Oxherding Pictures or 10 Bulls
@@chrisbigden3431thanks for that! Said so quickly that I couldn’t understand. Will check it out.
Thank you
About 23 minutes into this talk, he mentions about reading something but I can’t make it what it is. Do you know what he suggests to read? Also, thanks so much for putting these talks online. So helpful.
He talks about the Ox-Herding pictures. They are a series of drawings and poems that reflect upon the path to Enlightenment. Very Zen.
Ox herding pictures. It is a zen commentary!
Thanks!
23:04 - Every few years you should read what??? I couldn’t understand what he said
Ox-Herding pictures. They are a series of drawings and poems that reflect upon the path to Enlightenment. Very Zen. Google it.
Ox herding? Ox hurting?
Ox-Herding pictures. It's a series of drawings & poems representing the path to enlightenment. I was going to post a link, but it seems there are many versions of ox-herding pictures. You may find a version that speaks to you more than others.
I don't like when he laughs.
Thank you 🙏🏼
