Jesus born 25th of December is misleading because the Bible never mentioned 25th. it is all made up by Christians. actually 25th of December is celebrated by pagan roman God? and was created by the catholic believes and was made up in order to distance from Jewish believes, of Chanukkah and there is absolutely nothing with Jesus. that is not Hebrew name, that why some evangelists change the name to Yeshuah that means salvation. because 'Je ' if you know Hebrew there is no vowels and J as well. so, the only word can use is 'SUS' that means " horse" perhaps the name Jesus came from Greek God 'Zeus' that is very close to Jesus. but what puzzles me the Bible mentioned angel Gabriel gave this name to Mary or Miriam in Hebrew. perhaps the angel spoke in Greek, but the original language of Israel was Hebrew?? would be another invention by Christians?
I am not understanding the basis for the conclusion that John the Baptist was conceived on/near Yom Kippur. This professor is saying that he believes it was Yom Kippur because Zechariah was in the "Holiest of Holies" which only occurred on Yom Kippur; but there is no basis that I can see for concluding that he was in the Holiest of Holies. The first chapter of Luke merely states that Zechariah was burning incense on the "Altar of Incense" which was located OUTSIDE of the Holiest of Holies. I see nothing that could be used as a significant indication that the angelic visitation occurred on Yom Kippur. If I am missing something please let me know!
The point is ultimately that it doesn't matter so much if he was in the Holy of Holies on Yom Kippur, but that there was a very early tradition that that was the case. I think Josephus said that the Christians held that belief. Interestingly there is a 5 or 6 year period where we do not have names of the high priest and those years are right around 6 to 0 BC. In addition, the date of Jesus baptism was know by the apostles to be in early January well before the date of Christmas was set, and it made liturgical sense to put Christmas shortly before that date.
That's just it. There is a good "biblical" argument for why the 25th. I will accept that it can be debated that the Christians piggy-backed Saturnalia and Sol Invictus but the Winter Solstice has been recognized since the Neolithic period over 12,000 years ago. The reality is that the modern Jesus was born at the First Council of Nicaea, between May-Aug of 325 AD under Emporer Constantine. That's why December 25th was not recognized as the birth of Jesus Christ until 333 AD.
Something to think about, right from the Catholic Encyclopedia!!!! Sunday was kept holy in honour of Mithra, and the sixteenth of each month was sacred to him as mediator. The 25 December was observed as his birthday, the natalis invicti, the rebirth of the winter-sun, unconquered by the rigours of the season. A Mithraic community was not merely a religious congregation; it was a social and legal body with its decemprimi, magistri, curatores, defensores, and patroni. These communities allowed no women as members. Women might console themselves by forming associations to worship Anaitis-Cybele; but whether these were associated with Mithraism seems doubtful. Arendzen, J. (1907-1913). Mithraism. In C. G. Herbermann, E. A. Pace, C. B. Pallen, T. J. Shahan, & J. J. Wynne (Eds.), The Catholic Encyclopedia: An International Work of Reference on the Constitution, Doctrine, Discipline, and History of the Catholic Church: Vols. I-XV. The Encyclopedia Press; The Universal Knowledge Foundation. So now you know why Christians keep Sunday and Dec.25th! I had to show people!!!!! Pass it on!!!!
The observance of Christmas on December 25 was not introduced until 353 A.D. The chief pastor at Rome, Julius I (336-352), had the imperial archives of Rome searched for the exact date of the birth of Christ. A subsequent pastor of Rome, Liberius (352-366), then fixed the celebration of Christmas for December 25. Justin Martyr (died 150 A.D.) writes: “Christ was born in Bethlehem, as may be gathered from the census records.” Another writer, Tertullian (155 or 160-220 or 230 A.D.), testifies that in the census of Augustus the Roman archives have provided the most reliable testimony of the birth of the Savior.
No, Theophilus, Bishop of Caesarea, in the 2nd century stated Christ was born December 25th. He lived in Palestine and was conversant in the oral traditions regarding Jesus. Also, Hippolytus writing in the 2nd century, makes a clear historical case for December 25th based on the date of Zechariah's service in the temple, the conception of John the Baptist, and the crucifixion of Christ on March 25.
There is a discrepancy between western and Orthodox Christmas and I was always curious about that. It doesn't mean I want to go to work although I have.
"And it came to pass in those days, that there went out a decree from Caesar Augustus, that all the world should be taxed." (Luke 2:1) Caesar Augustus became the ruler of the Roman Empire in 27 B.C. and ruled until A.D. 4 when he died. This does not narrow the birth of time of Jesus much, but gives important information. Luke 1:5-2 explains, "There was in the days of Herod, the king of Judaea, a certain priest named Zacharias, of the course of Abia: and his wife was of the daughters of Aaron, and her name was Elisabeth. And they were both righteous before God, walking in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord blameless." (Luke 1:5-6) Luke 1:24 gives tells us that the Elizabeth, the mother of John the Baptist conceived six months before the Holy Spirit conceived Jesus in Mary. "And after those days his wife Elisabeth conceived, and hid herself five months, saying," (Luke 1:24) This is extremely important in determining the birth of Christ. Zacharias, Elizabeth’s husband was a priest and served in the temple during the "course" of Abia. (ah - bib or a bi ah) This gives us a way to narrow down the birth of Jesus. David divided the priests and Levites into 24 groups of priests and this set the schedule for when the individual priests would serve in the Temple. ( 1 Chron. 28:11-13,19) They then due lots to see when each group of priests to determine when eacj priest would serve in the Temple. (Neh. 10:34) Luke 1:5 says "There was in the days of Herod, the king of Judaea, a certain priest named Zacharias, of the course of Abia: and his wife was of the daughters of Aaron, and her name was Elisabeth." The phrase "course of Abia" refers to the group of priests to which Zacharias whom served in the Temple in the month of Sivan (May-June). Historical calculation would put his service in June 13-19. A priest would serve for one week beginning on Saturday the Sabbath. Zacharias probably completed his Temple service the third week of Sivan. Afterward he returned home Elizabeth conceived John the Baptist. This would date around the middle to the end of June. Luke 1:24-27 provided the important detail that Jesus was conceived of the Holy Spirit six months after Elizabeth, Mary’s cousin, conceived. Six months (verse 26) would mean that Jesus was conceived in the Jewish month of Kislev (kiss-leav - Nov-Dec). Hanukkah, called the Feast or Festival of Lights was on Kislev 25th. We cannot be dogmatic about this, but that would seem to be the perfect time for Christ to be conceived as He came as the Light unto the world. "Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life." (John 8:12) As Elizabeth conceived John’s near the end of June, adding nine months brings us to the end of March as the most likely time for John’s birth. Adding another six months (the difference in ages between John and Jesus according to Luke 1:35-36) this brings us to the end of September as the likely time of Jesus’ birth. Jesus was probably born on 15h of Tishrei (tris he dee - in Hebrew) or (Tris he ray) which was the end of September. Tishrei is the first month of the Jewish year or Ras Hashannah. Yom Kippur , the Day of Atonement, is the 10th day and Sukkot (Su cous) is the 15th Day of the first month called the Feast of Tabernacles. It celebrates the restoration of Israel’s relationship with the Lord after 40 year of wandering in the desert. Sukkot is a time of rejoicing and spiritually corresponds to the joy of knowing your sins are forgiven (during Yom Kippur. It further looks to the coming of the Messiah. Therefore Jesus was clearly not born on December 25th, but near the end of the month of September. If born on Tishrei 15th, it is difficult to pen point the day on the Gregorian calendar month of September, because the Jewish calendar is based on the lunar cycles. Tishri 15th would fall on different days on our Gregorian calendar. The Roman calendar in Christ's day was the Julian calendar, which was changed to the Gregorian calenda
Thanks for explaination and have a happy and holy Christmas As an aside, this relationship between John and Jesus is never really acknowledged in scripture by the two men. Am I wrong?
Early Christians celebrated the birth of Christ at this time of year because the Romans were too busy celebrating their pagan holiday to persecute the Christians for celebrating the birth of Christ. John the Baptist and Jesus were cousins. I can't quote chapter and verse but somewhere in the bible I read Mary and Elizabeth greeted each other when they were pregnant and their babies "...leaped in the womb..."

celebration of Christmas started before the emergence of Christendom, one of the theory is that Constantine put christmas on 25th to standardize all religious celebration together. christmas and saturnalia celebration were celebrate side by side at that time. Sol invictus was another celebration that came later to be incorporated into 25th dec.

Santa Claus was not & still IS not a traditional part of Christmas celebrations (Dec 24 onwards) in many countries. The character's status as a gift-giver (n Germany, the Christ Child is the traditional giver) is a CULTURAL practice, even if elements of his character stem from the historical St. Nicholas of Myra. 150-200 years ago Santa/Papa Noel would've been unknown to many, if not most Christians of various churches. Christianity is 2,000 years old, and anyone who wants to objectively research the origins & spread of popular Christmas traditions should realize that these customs aren't uniform, and that translations of writings from the Early Church (before & after Constantine's time) are still with us. This approach is so much better than the sensationalism & faux-spiritual talking points people throw at the holiday every year, because it appears to confirm their worldview.

First seek our father in heaven and his justice and everything will be added godbless everyone
Thank you.

So now you know why Christians keep Sunday and Dec.25th!
I had to show people!!!!!
Pass it on!!!!
Thank you father for the information
The shepherds were with the sheep that night. Because it got cold at night this practice stopped in early October.
This isnt true, the official lambing season of Betheleham is Dec Jan, shepherds to this day must be out on december nights to help birth lambs!
During Bible times sheep were brought in for the night it was called bringing them into the fold!@@Disneydreamgirl33
If you don’t believe Christmas on December 25, go to WORK!! Don’t accept Christmas gifts and Christmas bonuses!! Simple as that.
Agree... 😂
There is a discrepancy between western and Orthodox Christmas and I was always curious about that. It doesn't mean I want to go to work although I have.
I thought it was on the 31
"And it came to pass in those days, that there went out a decree from Caesar Augustus, that all the world should be taxed." (Luke 2:1)
Caesar Augustus became the ruler of the Roman Empire in 27 B.C. and ruled until A.D.
And they were both righteous before God, walking in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord blameless." (Luke 1:5-6)
Luke 1:24 gives tells us that the Elizabeth, the mother of John the Baptist conceived six months before the Holy Spirit conceived Jesus in Mary.
(Neh. 10:34)
Luke 1:5 says "There was in the days of Herod, the king of Judaea, a certain priest named Zacharias, of the course of Abia: and his wife was of the daughters of Aaron, and her name was Elisabeth." The phrase "course of Abia" refers to the group of priests to which Zacharias whom served in the Temple in the month of Sivan (May-June).
"Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life." (John 8:12)
As Elizabeth conceived John’s near the end of June, adding nine months brings us to the end of March as the most likely time for John’s birth.
I was surprised to find there were exactly 25 comments only 😄
Thanks for explaination and have a happy and holy Christmas As an aside, this relationship between John and Jesus is never really acknowledged in scripture by the two men. Am I wrong?
Thanks for posting.
25 December is the day of pagan festival. Pls be honest to your audience
That is another subject.
Love my catholic church is so full of teachings and it has an answer to every question , there is no way way that billions of cristians can be wrong by celebrating on december 25th . VIVA CRISTO REY .
Actually the Catholic encyclopedia states that Jesus was NOT born on December the 25.
Why is the Catholic Church the only entity that fits the description of the anti-christ? Do they have an answer for that?
They didn’t keep records of births then, the 25 th of December is the ROMAN festival of the SATURNALIA ,the Christian’s just picked that date to convert pagans
celebration of Christmas started before the emergence of Christendom, one of the theory is that Constantine put christmas on 25th to standardize all religious celebration together. christmas and saturnalia celebration were celebrate side by side at that time. Sol invictus was another celebration that came later to be incorporated into 25th dec.

Jesus was born unto Mary while her and Joseph were going to report for the Jewish census / Roman tax collection. The Bible is very specific about this. Jesus' birth time would be roughly near the end of March

You mean Satan Claus.???

The Great Persecution of 303AD where the Church of Rome killed Christians and left 500,000 bodies in catacombs under Rome.
Then Emperor Constantine supposedly got saved and told them to stop killing Christians… The Church of Rome became the Roman Catholic Church, Catholic meaning Liberal because they let what was left of the Christians live.

Finally. But majority will not believe it, despite it's historycal
yom kippur is oct 11 and 12 not sept 25. this is a faulty claim not Biblical no basis at all.
Doesn’t the date of Yom Kippur move every year? Genuinely curious
@@GMMA-zq9hh Yom Kippur occurs on the 10th of Tishrei. The Jews use a Lunar Calendar so it moves around. it can occur as early as September 14 and as late as October 14. John being conceived in late September/early October still puts a plausible birthdate to late June.
So the pagans took the date from the true believers, hmmm and you want us to believe that?!!!!
Read Luke. Now I will listen.
the gospel was written according to the Bible for 4 evangelists. Matthew, Mark, Luke, John. there is no evidence who did write them. because says 'according to Matthew, and likewise the other gospels according to Mark and so on. What puzzles me. How you can believe if you do not know the author. actually, Jesus did not write anything most are invention by Christians perhaps by catholic Church.
Who he/she/it, celebrate Christmas is not a real follower of Jesus Christ nor a true Christian.
I've never heard such blatant lies, there are numerous years recorded in the bible after Jesus death, and none of his followers celebrated his birthday.
Pagan festival😋
Perhaps the master of deception wants you to think that so that you won’t worship Jesus he is pretty crafty your fooled by him
@Brother Paul No where just like it doesn't say to go on you tube or many other things. But it does say in Romans that if you celebrate a day and it offends someone as long as you do it unto the lord its ok, What you eat may offend someone but if you do it unto the lord its ok. What about the other books of the biblble mentioned in the bible why was they taken away from the bible. Many have bibles with many of these books in them including the KJV 1611, yet all you guys only preach what was left in, I have old bible with many of these books so its not like they were not ever in there . In Luke and Jude they both mention the book of Enoch. Too many false prophets set out to deceive us. Why wouldn't you as a christian want to worship Jesus on the day he was brought into the world? If someone misses your birthday are you upset when they give you a late greeting or a gift. We do know that John the baptist mother was pregnant with him 6 months prior to the angel coming to Mary . DO we know the exact day when Christ was crucified yet we celebrate Easter, actually only Orthodox christians we are the oldest christians in the world follow that good friday cannot be celebrated until the Jews have their passover
@pennycooks are we not to celebrate and give praise to our Savior daily? This day has nothing to do with our King and Savior. May want to rethink this Pagan day. We are to not worship our our Heavenly Father as the pagans do. But in truth and in spirit.
@@miguelbalderas905 Read your bible read about Jesus birth, I don’t know anyone worshiping a tree, to Jews we all are pagan , now these false prophets want us to think worshiping Jesus is wrong look how many are suddenly celebrating Hanukkah, saying how nice it is is to give gifts for 8 days , also not in the bible , you are being deceived
Jesuschrist was not born on Christmas day is the sun day
Saturnalia is the 18th to 23rd. I'm afraid you can't correlate that with the 25th.
