Plenty of men are unhappy, but they are basically forced to stay married or else they lose everything they have worked hard their entire lives for. If women were not entitled to one cent or one piece of property, you can be very sure they would not be jumping on this Gray Divorce train.

You chose the consequences when you chose your actions. Oh and you might want to realize that everything you have is half hers, not yours. When you divorce you end up with half of what you BOTH had. You aren't giving anything up. You are taking from her what she has earned as well.

Our counselor told me while we were separated in counseling, " She hasnt changed she just stopped acting. She never wanted to share life and things with you. She only wanted to take from you. She has all she wants now so there is no need for her to act any longer she is gone." Always keep your head down know your environment its like a sniper shot that takes you out. I was at the kitchen table opening the mail after work and she walked in and shot me the news its over...boom. I literally had no idea no fights, no cheating...nothing.

I had a very similar experience...after 21 years of marriage and 2 kids...she just moved out one day while I was at work. Just left, no warning, nothing. And there was NO consideration of counseling or any effort or desire by her to try and save the marriage. Left me with the kids. She took off with another man a month or so later...served me papers shortly thereafter. It was like an “assassin” took me out! Brutal.

I notice a light, carefree take on divorce in this video. There is nothing light or carefree about it. Divorce is not like returning a shirt that doesn’t fit, it’s a commitment and an oath that one is backpedaling on. Period

@@elainenilsson5472 In certain situations, yes ,divorce is necessary. Marriage is not a game you get to quite, baring extreme circumstance, you are in for the duration. If one goes in thinking otherwise then you were never in reality married anyway. There is nothing to debate or justify.

Gray divorce is something that totally favors women. A man of 50 and over will be financially devastated. He will have to give up his house and 50% of all assets, plus pay spousal support until his ex-wife does. There is NO RISK for a woman in this situation, only reward. They are free to go sleep around and not have to worry about money ever again. Meanwhile her ex-husband is supporting her life a child.

My ex-husband divorced me after 38 years of marriage because he wanted to marry the other woman. We were both 64 when he filed and believe me, he doesn’t pay spousal support. I worked almost the whole time we were married and he managed to blow all the money we both made. I didn’t get a dime from him. I’m 66 now and trying to work as long as I’m able because of the financial ruin he left in his wake.

Define financially devastated. Exactly how much are you earning? Exactly how much do you have to use to provide for the family you started?

For some people! I am the breadwinner. Out earn my husband by making more than twice his income and will have a few million in my 403(b) by retirement. I’ll lose everything. He would get what he did not work for.

It's hypocritical to believe that you do not advocate for divorce, but encourage it in the pursuit of happiness. I find that too many people build their relationships on love and happiness without realizing that these are passing emotions. If you destroyed your marriages because you were not happy or satisfied with your former spouse, then do not get involved in a new relationships as an act of decency, until the narcissist in you loves itself enough to allow another in your life without hypergamy.

Women are divorcing their husbands because they are bored with their husbands. They are not abusive nor alcholic. These women find the next is worse.

Sad. Glad my wife is a rockstar and we are happily growing old(er) together. I found long ago that when we acquiesce, we thrive. Patience is a virtue. A wise man once said, before you marry keep both eyes wide open. After marriage, keep one eye closed. 😉

Gosh, meeting someone new after a long marriage is so much fun. It's all about fun. Marriage isn't about being there for one another during the hard times and surviving what life throws at us. It's supposed to be fun. You all sound like 12 year olds. ...no wait, that is insulting to 12 year olds.

@@ttrainor70 My husband let his "friends" convince him his life would be better, he'd have all this free time and rid of me controlling him. He had free time alright...to look for a second job, pay rent on an apartment while I got the house paid in full and a healthy tax free paycheck from him. I asked him, why on earth do you listen to everyone BUT me? All the way to the end I never steered him wrong. Never! I told him how this would turn out and sure enough he found out I was right. So, 7 months later he was dead. Apparently, I was not the only one that he didn't listen to. He had diabetes out of control, kidney disease and BOOM! That leads to heart attack. Thank God we were not yet divorced. I am now a widow. So sad.
