I never thought about just using Plastic Dip as the paint, what a good idea. Can't wait to see this truck in action.
Never tried it so curious how it going to hold up, nice thing in it doesn't then I'll just peel it right off and repaint it😊
@@FivoNine How's the plastic dip holding up since painted?
@@gottria so far no issues, been holding up great
Best monster slash I’ve seen
Thank you 😊👍
definitely
You should see the one I made
I'm not really a Traxxas fan but that's a really neat truck. Nice one. 👍
Thank you man I appreciate it 😊👍
Great video man that monster slash looks even cooler with the ram body! Keep it up! 🤗
I'm liking the ram body too 😊
Like that. Saw 1 guy warm up the fender well lips and roll an appropriately sized can to make flairs
That looks badass, might do the same to my slash!
Nice build
Looks good! Can't wait to see it in action
same, hopefully soon I will bash it to see how it holds up 😊
I put a Jconcepts Ford Atlas body on my Slash 4 x 4. It is a very large body and just begs for oversized tires. I put a set of Pro-line 2.8 Super Swampers on it and ...wow.
That sounds like a great combo 👍
this channel is going to super hit
Wow, that came out great! Nice video man!
Thank you 😊👍
awesome the body looks pretty cool
Awesome dad award goes to you sir.
Thank you Sir 😊
Whats your feeling on the larger tires after running it awhile? Has it caused any drivetrain issues/ Have you found a good pinion, spur gear combo?
Definitely upgrade the driveshafts to metal, I have the Tekno M6 driveshafts, I haven's messed with the gears yet but would recommend changing.
Super video bro....im trying to move up with bigger tires on my slash 4x4.....great work on that Dodge Cab....looks killer...👍👍👍😁
Thanks 👍
Awesome man! Quick recommendation tho. You might want to gear down a tooth or two on the pinion to compasate for the bigger wheels so you don't burn out your motor. Otherwise sick!
Thank you for the tip man, usually I do change the gearing but I want to see how will the electronics last if i just do light bash and no speed runs. Otherwise I would definitely change the gearing
@@FivoNine ya man. Hey maby next time u go out with it, bring temp gun and if.the temps are good then run it!
How did it turn out? I did this with the 4x4 rustler wheels and had it out for 2min and think I smoked the clutch. At least hope it was the clutch and not the motor
Nice man
0:40 lol
That’s nice
Best slash body and montage
Thank you
These videos are awesome
Thank you 👍😊
Nice work as always. Time to get a new body for my monster slash. Thanks for spending my money again LOL
😂😂
Nice truck just did monster slash to already cracked the body. Think I need a taller rear bumper to help with hits. I'me looking around. Just got some nice results out of liquid wrench chain and cable lube with anti sling penetrant used it on bearings wow car faster. Washed it off after a few uses water beads off metal bearing . Happy bashing in new year nice vid. Yes it was proline but not there fault I drive rc trucks like I stole it. It was like 18 rolls on cement after a big jump never knew a slash could go 40 feet while rolling 😂
Thank you man, Happy New Year 🎉
You should put a gel gun on it and make it a fpv turret
Man that thing looks sweet!!! I wouldn't want to get it dirty it's so nice looking. But where's the fun with no dirt. Lol
😂 that what i was saying lol
So this monster conversion is literally just big tires and extended body mounts? No suspension work?
You can mess with the shock oil or get different shocks, this was just a simple conversion
I came here to see the truck transformation as I’m looking to do the same to mine, but just gotta say, cute kids.
Thank you man 😊 they like to get into the shots whenever I film at home lol
The truck looks awesome!
Thank you 😊
wow what a looker
preload those coils! more lift babeyyyy
That was a great build! I like it
hey, Fivo Nine!!! Love your channel soooo much! I am a new RC channel, and I am just curious about what editing tool you use, and if it's free. you may remember me from the Mark Santa Maria live chat and commenting on a few of your videos as Big and cool RC school. (this is my alternate account). Anyways, always enjoy your videos and I have gotten one person to subscribe. Thanks for continuing to make awesome videos that always interest me!
Hey whats up man, im using the adobe premiere. I used it for awhile so kinda stuck with it but there is Free editing software's out there. I used Davinci Resolve for a little.
@@FivoNine ok. sounds good! I might give them a try! Thanks a lot!
Very good-looking! Good Job!
Thank you man 😊
That looks so good nice mod 👍
Thank you
Hi, nice works, thanks for sharing. What about the pinion & spur?
I left it the way it is, its better to change the pinion gear. But with light bashing I had no issues, except clutch kept slipping
Cool video, if you need to change the pinion & spur gear , what do you recommend ? I'd be only general bashing , no jumps .
Stock gearing is 13/54 so I would probably go with 11/54
@@FivoNine I did the conversion a couple of years ago. I went with a 9t pinion and stock 54t spur. Last year I had the motor magnet come apart. I rebuilt the motor and had the same thing happen again. Thinking the center diff might allow the motor to over-speed since on 3s I'm getting front end lift. Hope this hasn't happened to you.
Wher did you oredr the boddy for the doge looks nice
Is cutting it to the shape you like done with anything else other than scissors? Looks great but, for me, my OCD needs "perfect" straight lines. Thanks!
Late response here but I’ve seen people use templates and you score around the template with an x-acto knife and break or tear along the score line.
Damn that's nice
What gear ratio are you running with the larger diameter tires?
I just went 2 teeth down on the pinion
Please where did you get the ram body iv been looking allover
It's already discontinued but here's the part number for it PRO342000
U made very nice content. High quality! Now i wanna do it with my slash)) from rus with love)
Thank you, i appreciate the nice comment 😁
Did you just go over the windows with black without covering up the white parts? That didn't mess up with the white parts?
Yes i just went over the white parts, plastidip is pretty thick so with plenty white, the black color does not go through.
Sweet. About to put this can to work.
Looks incredible. I’m going to buy a slash and do this right now with a different body. Maybe the Ford raptor. How’s the body mounts holding up? I’ve heard they are not that strong.
So far holding up good.😁 You might want to upgrade the driveshafts, mine snapped first day running with bigger tires
that looks dope bro.
Thank you man 👍
My buddy gave me his monster slash he built over 9 years ago.
The tire rubb hard on the A-arms, and it’s turning radius is like 30 feet. What wheels do i need to correct this?
Not really sure how to fix that, I've seen guys use a Dremel to cut the spokes inside the rim for some clearance if that's what's rubbing. The tires I have on seem to be good.
Very nice!
Thank you 😊
Do they rub on body when they bollon at full speed
They do
Nice conversion! Do you think the larger tires might burn out the motor for any reason?
If your doing high speed runs or always going to be on full throttle i would definitely change the pinion gear so you dont burn out anything. I usually bash here and there so i will keep the way it is for now 😁
Looking awesome! I already have the badlands but looks like the body isn't available anymore?
I think they still have it, here's the part number PRO342000 😁
what kind of body is that? short course crawler?
www.prolineracing.com/bodies/2013-ram-1500-true-scale-clear-body.asp
Any issues with the transmission going with the bigger tires? I'm so thinking of getting this RC and doing this conversion to it. Nice video!
No issues so far, just tighten the clutch a little bit 😄
Man where did you get that body it’s outa stock everywhere
At local hobby shop, that was before everything went out of stock, now its hard to get any part
Do you need to buy new hex adapters with the tires or can you use the ones off that came with the slash
Wheels are pretty universal so as long as you see that good ol “12mm” hex stamp then it will fit 1 to 1 and you will re-use the hex adapters.
Awesome channel.
Thank you!
Can You Give a recommendation of the Spur and Pinion since your using Bigger Wheels. Just Subscribed to your account.
Stock gearing is 13/54 so I would probably go a tooth or two lower like 11/54
@@FivoNine thank you very much. Keep up the Great Content 👍
Looks so good! what made you use plastidip instead of regular rc body paint? how is it holding up?
Nice thing about plasti dip you can peel it off and repaint different colors 😊 I haven't bashed it yet but a buddy plasti dipped his truck and still holding up, so hoping it will hold😊
@@FivoNine i love plastidip! don't bash it too hard ;)
@@413RC 😂😂 I'll try not to lol
Will this work on a traxxas 2wd
It should
How Long did the plasti dip hold up before it started ripping
So far its still holding up 😁
astig!!!
Nice 👍!! Wow
Thank you😊
cool. would you have a link to the body mount, the tire and the body?

@@FivoNine thx a lot
@@Senna94xb no problem anytime 😊
What hex adapters did you use for the wheels?
Where did you get that ram body?
Will those tires mess with the gears cuz the added weight?
Plus can i do this with the senton
Yes it will mess with the gears, Its better to change gearing. and yes you can do that with the senton. I have a video of it
@@FivoNine thanks for the reply dude ill check it out
What are the specs on the wheels n rims
How is the steering servo holding up?
So far no issues
@@FivoNine nice. Is it still the stock one in there? I hear the bigger tires are a little slower to steer.
@@modex20 No its not, sorry I should of mentioned it right away😀 ... the stock gave out on the second run with regular tires, I got the Power HD Servo LW-20MG and its been good so far
Nice video, nice body 👍
Thank you! 👍
My
Issue is my tires rub on the shocks
Love it!! Going to do one the same. How has the plastidip held up?
So far still holding good 👍
Nice
Thank you 😊
I have a traxxas slash 4x4 but it’s brushed
@@phantomrl3377 Nice, brushed are fun cars to drive, first traxxas I drove was a brushed one and it was fun 😊
Amazing video great camera quality
Will the stock slash body still fit?
the wheels are going to rub so its going to need some trimming
What size tires?
2.8"
Major tire rub
Yup I had to go back and trim the body more 😊
I actually did the same set up never had full suspension travel. I had to chop the whole body so pissed, but looks real good though.
@@dancardoza3443 same, it does look good I agree, I also had to upgrade the drive shafts from snapping lol
What scale is it ?
1/10
Can I make this with the 2wd?
@@JoseHernandez-wk5es Yes, I think the Proline body post are just different for 2wd I believe
Hi
Hello 😊
How much did you spend on the transformation
$40 Body
$80 Tires
$19 Mount
$16 Plasti Dip
Total = $155
4x4 ???
Yup
Do you find it rolls over more or less with those bigger tires? I’m hoping with the wider stance it will become a little more planted
