You’re not alone brother . I get 100 calls a day. Sounds great right? The problem is only from offshore recruiters that don’t speak a word of English. Wonderful !
Remember when they told everyone to “Learn to code”? Guess what - companies don’t hire novice coders. Even skilled programmers are having trouble getting jobs.
Honestly I ask AI to do that for me and I just need to know the basics - how to properly request it and how to read it. It’s more important to understand the business behind the data to validate it, analyze it and translate it to digestible format meaningful for the business. I can definitely see dedicated coders to be less and less demanded.
Continuous reposting of the same requisition is known as generating a "pipeline". The HR departments do it for EVERY position in their company. The purpose is to keep a stream of resumes coming in for every role in the company in case someone leaves their position. The HR term for these postings is EOI - Expression of Interest. The only solution - real solution - is to legislate a mandatory labeling of EOI postings, so that job searchers can filter them out of their search results.
Companies and employers have inflated opinions on their prestige. Most are mid-level at most or even terrible but act like they're the best thing ever and have snobby perspectives on applicants as a result. Competition is tough with all the layoffs going on. People have also gotten alienated from each other in general. With the decline of face-to-face interactions, most HR types and recruiters aren't seeing applicants in person and just see resumes as a text on a screen. Dehumanization results.
very true, like 5 employes, dont get to travel for work, mediocre to bad pay, generation x:ers which, in my opinion, is a massive culture crash in the workplace etc. I mean I have a bsc in mechanical engineering and 5 years experience in technical sales. I was hoping for a more attractive company than tommy's engineering company. I am not entitled to work, but had I known the competition was so huge for exciting companies I would have never studied engineering.
I am a mecahnical engineer with approximately 5 years experience in sales, and have a hard time finding work. I do realise that I can absolutely improve my social skills some. But companies are very picky and they like for you to know 50% before you even begin. Technically I can more than that (5 years experience) but technical sales is not a skill per se so it is hard to find work tbh.
I work for intel, they’re going to open a portal for voluntary layoff. I don’t want to lose my job, idk who would take the voluntary package unless they’re retiring with this terrible job market
the goal is, you want to keep your job while most people are unemployed. because then the recession will come and deflation and bring all prices down. It's shopping time then.
I'm in exactly the same position as you are I'm an insane 3D artist and cannot find anything in 2 years Bengals of several times only had a handful of interviews over 2000 resumes sent out again I'm more of a senior position insanely skilled
Job scams are becoming prominent. I have been on the receiving end of several of these. They are preying on people like me that need employment sensing the smell of complete desperation. Jobs are posted and they are not even the correct location, pay, or job title, most are part time. There is too much competition for these jobs and not enough of them to go around.
You said so many things i haven't considered. Excellent video. And just a talking head! I've been getting really impatient lately but i watched this whole video. High quality
Thanks so much for your support Skippy! Truly do appreciate it really much, yeah I try to keep my videos more simple, think just personal style, so happy you found it insightful! Here's to hopefully more videos!! 🤗📽💸
Me too Kevin, been looking since this past February - getting desperate @ this point...live on LI and have been pushed to seek employment in Queens, BKLYN & Manhattan and still no bites ..
Thanks for sharing Irene! I've also been looking around and also interestingly based in the NYC region, specifically in Brooklyn, so totally with you there sharing similar struggles and sentiments, sending best wishes over to all of us!! 🗽🙏 💸
This is so wonderful to have people share their jobmarket experience. But honestly, I don't think there's such a thing as one job market. There are always, always will be, people who are in demand. In every sector. Others have to struggle, even if their have a degree from a prestigious university like Harvard or Stanford. Sad, but true -> it's almost impossible to forecast how demand & supply will develop in the labor market. Same in financial markets, most daytrades thus lose their last shirt !
HR killed the job market. Back in the day it was not all about “getting the right person for the job”. HR is great for companies and people who become HR.
bad example to use healthcare: healthcare is one area where we are DESPERATE for people. Too bad people don't do research before going to college for IT, marketing, or communications. Health care is the best field bc I have tons of jobs available and AI can't take my job.

Wot? How did they even reach you?
Bim Sala bim? Bone kiss manish

This is too accurate.

so true I have been learning code 7 months ago, and I started applying two weeks ago, I never got any reply or interview
1000% "Learn to code" is now a meme

Young people like cuts every 4 seconds, but old people like me like no editing. So whatever audience you want you can choose

There are new articles coming out saying that AI has doubled the work because of its incompetence. I'm hoping it will be like the NFT fads

Hi
I been unemployed 1.6 years and I'm a cpa 😢 how 😢
You gotta be an attractive girl for that job
bad example to use healthcare: healthcare is one area where we are DESPERATE for people. Too bad people don't do research before going to college for IT, marketing, or communications. Health care is the best field bc I have tons of jobs available and AI can't take my job.
But Janet Yellen says the economy is doing very well. I’m confused.
They are not searching for any experience. They are looking for fortune 500 companies experience.
I think you have to know someone in a company and get referred in nowadays.
I can comprehend everybody's job will hold only until AI adoption becomes cheaper than employees salary.
AI is not the issue yet. It's the outsourcing to India and other nations with cheap labor
Gee... 10:49 I thought the police were coming for me
Yeah sorry about the sirens, I live near a police station, so it gets relatively loud sometimes!
I had an easier time finding a job after I graduated during the great recession.
God didn't create greed. it is one of the sins of the world.
is he the one who got laid off from google...
I wish I even got that chance, I have friends there, but me personally, I've never even gotten the chance to work for a company like Google!
Well you don't fit the D E I ideal candidate right now. So yeah, you're gonig to have a difficult time
