This looks great. I especially appreciate the charms and baubles of your mother’s. I’m making a fabric covered journal and I found a piece that I purchased more than 10 years ago and have never used any of it. I forgot I had it. It amazes me that God knew way back then that I would be using it today. The same is true of your mom’s jewelry for you. It blows me away every time this happens. I call them God winks❣️

I'm also really inspired by the fact that you weren't really feeling it in the beginning and weren't even sure if you were going to make the journal, but you pushed thru and ended up making something you love. This is a basic blanket stitch used in needlework and quilting as well. Great example of how people around the planet all end up using the same technique without knowing each other. I think this stitch has been used in book binding single signatures in Japan for over thousand years. I love doing things while thinking of those before me. Beautiful choice!
