I just got my tool check plus (metric) about a week ago but who am I kidding, I’ll probably end up buying this one and/or the icon one to pair with some makita xps socket sets in my EDC. I’ll probably keep the tool check plus in my computer/electronic hobby tool box. This tool buying addiction can get expensive real fast 😂 Great quick video!
I bought this set about 6 months ago. I still use it even though I have to hold the box together with a rubber band. I also switched out some of the bits for there security versions
I think the Phillips with extras is called a "pozidriv". Also, why did you use a half-inch socket on a 5/16 lag screw? You had quite a bit of wobble there - or were you deliberately trying to induce that to check the skipping claim?
@@handysapiens Then if you don't mind me asking, why is it called a 5/16? Not trying to be difficult, just increasing my limited knowledge in this area.
It probably skipped due to the person moving the directional switch while rotating the handle,it is a common problem with mini sets as you are trying to get a good grip on such a small tool handle
This would be awesome if the handle had a 1/4" socket in the end, so it could be used as a straight screwdriver. There are too many situations where there's no room for a 90-degree screwdriver.
I use the Wiha metal box set with the Zyklops ratchet (better ratchet). I have also replaced all the hex with Wera hex plus as I use them a lot in my engineering job. Love the small form factor of this Wiha set. I have 2 of them customized my way.
@@handysapiens Thank's for your reaction. I can't nothing find about the size of the Wiha Set. Yes, I think the Stanley Set is a little bit bigger: 3 3/4" x 4 3/4" x 1 1/4" But I like to have the hexagonal nuts. 😉
Thing is, if you already carry a Milwaukee 1505 as your knife, it has a bit driver. So then you just need a strip of bits. No need to EDC that large box and wrench.
A drill isn't exactly EDC, the benefits of this set is that it's compact, functional and works in awkward/hard to reach spaces where a drill, driver or regular screwdriver wouldn't.
Awesome, this is exactly what I’ve been looking for. Thank you for the content man! 🙏
Glad it was helpful!

The struggle is real!

Awesome! Yes, I plan on swapping out a few of the bits for ones I use more often.
that is a beautiful chopping block
Thank you! It’s the VADHOLMA from IKEA
nice

Yes, you're right - it slipped my mind when I was recording. 5/16" lag screw head is 1/2" - the wobble is due to the awkward angle.

@@Ensign_Cthulhu 5/16 is the diameter of the threaded part - so if your hole was 5/16 you could fit it through. The head is always larger naturally.
Take a look at the Bahco 2058/S26 Bit-Socket Set
Looks nice, but looks to be about twice the size of this one. The wiha box is tiny!

I haven’t had it skip for me, but I can definitely see someone flipping the directional switch in the process and thinking that it’s skipping!

But one..
Would be interested you doing a comparison with the Wera Zyklops Mini Ratchet and seeing who is the winner

@@bobleader9006 What's better about the Zyklops ratchet over this one? Also, are the wiha hex bits not quality?
Nice but my EDC would need nuts 7-13mm and half of the bits are obsolet.
That's why you modify the case to your needs with the bits you need
Exactly!
Now just get an 813 and you will have both a ratchet, and a small regular style handle just in case.
Are you sure the box is aluminum? Those types of cases are made out of sheet steel afaik
I could have sworn I read that somewhere, but I might be wrong. Either way, I don't think it makes a huge difference in terms of functionality.
Where can i buy it and how much ?
Amazon: amzn.to/431pPEP
30 $ ebay
Bout 30 lowes
I prefer the topeak one because its smaller and does the same thing.
I haven't seen that one before - would love to do a comparison!
Wish it was painted. Its pretty rough to touch
I actually really like the texture, feels tough!
But you didn't try the reverse setting!!!🤷♂️
You can take my word for it - both directions work just fine ;)
@@handysapiens I've been seeing more reviews on it, I'll take your word for it! Thnx bud!😃👍
Just get the Icon set it has a flex head, can be used as a T handle, and comes with security bits.
I think the "Stanley Bit-Set 1-13-906" is the better Set. More options on a very small EDC size.
I haven't seen that one before. It appears to be a bit bigger, albeit, with a larger selection of bits.

That is enormous. You can’t EDC that.
@@rsilvers129 Why I can't? It's small enough for a shoulder bag or every back pack.

Could just use a drill ??

Pozidriv.
The icon is better get yours at harbor freight
Could you imagine the icon package in a small pack like the wiha
They are comparable sets for sure, however I believe the Wiha is more compact.
It’s never in stock😂
I just bought another Icon yesterday
Nope the icon is way better
Ok but "EDC bit set" is a joke right....
