@Rebecca Bryant I agree with you. There should be a manual option as well instead of 3 completely electronic options. I get what they are trying to do. (Stay up to date with making everything electric, and keep up with other brands) but in the truck community, no. We all love a simple operational truck. Casual or for work use. We also like a few advanced features inside and out, but an ALL electric tailgate is not one of those and is not what us the customers/owners want, nor convenient for the exact reason you are saying. A no touch kick and or key fob option along with the normal manual tailgate latch should have been the way to go.
@@rebeccabryant1210 imagine having a bed full of concrete bags, going to the job site and your tailgate failing?? No thank you! Just another reason to keep dropping money into my 2013 paid off 3/4 ton.... I could probably fix everything needed plus body work and still be waaay cheaper than a new truck lol
@@SF19800 so what happened was I think it got so cold and it just died because after like driving the truck it would work but I did see somewhere that the button for the tailgate could get corrosion and you have to clean it off but thank god that wasn’t are case
Button not working not sure if plugged in right
@@eddiesmith6206 are you speaking of your keep fob button or the button on the truck tailgate or the button on the inside of the cab?
Mine doesn’t lift back up! So they have some that don’t have that feature?
If you truck doesn't have the button on the key phob then no you don't have it
@ Mine has a button on the key but it’s a single button which only lowers it
Short bed or standard bed?
Nice truck btw
Standard
Is there a way to open them manually without any electrical assistance
Unfortunately no. Not with the new body style trucks. It's all electric open via keep phob, inside the vehicle or button on the tailgate.
@@moto_ak47 i have one, hate this option. have to go get my purse every time i want to open the darn thing. bring back a manual option please.

Good video MotoAK47 Thanks!
Is there any problem with just slamming the tailgate shut like we did back in the day? 😂
No, the traditional way is still a good and somtimes faster way to close electric tailgates.
