So glad this is coming to PC, I was a bit worried as I didn't have any last gen systems, despite Ubisoft's PC ports not always being great it's nice to see they're at least giving us the game.
Probably lol. Seriously though, there seem to be a good deal of people that do, they're just not as vocal as the people who didn't like AC3 (sorry to say I hated the game).
Man I loved AC 4, and I wouldn't mind if Ubi basically branched off the AC series with one more classical, city based format and one focused on naval gameplay, like it seems they're experimenting with. Its just a real shame its only last gen :/ I really don't want to downgrade from AC 4 to this
Tara, AC2, ACB, and ACR had these renovation side missions too. It isn't new, they are just bringing it back. ACB had the best system for that. The buildings and the crowds changed a lot, and it was literally all of Rome. You couldn't own all the buildings, but even the surrounding ones changed too
They didn't make AC Rogue for the new-gen consoles because it was too expensive. Ubisoft won't admit it, but they are not doing too well financially and since they put most of their effort into AC Unity, they really couldn't change the format for Rogue. I love it when people call Ubisoft cash whores because they are a company that has to pay it's employees. Yes they have to make money or there won't be anymore cool games anymore. They did there best with what they had and shouldn't be criticized for that. If they didn't make another game this year, Ubisoft would have lost so much money. Assassin's Creed last year made up nearly half of their revenue for the entire year. If you want Ubisoft to go bankrupt, then no more AC games. They had to use their limited sources as best as they could and really put in the effort for both games this year. Please guys just give the game a chance, it's not going to kill you if you just rent the game at least.
I know people are getting bored with a new AC game every year but I'm still going to get both games. Good thing Rogue comes out later on PC so I have time to play Unity, but I'm guessing Rogue will look and feel a bit downgraded after playing Unity. Rogue is a port to PC after all so probably graphics and crowds wont be as good compared to Unity, which is built for New gen from the ground up.
It's kind of frustrating that this comes out day and date with Unity. Glad to see that it has been announced for PC tho. I'm guessing they might release an "definitive" version for PS4/XONE once initial sales are over. I'm guessing they don't want to cannibalize the sales for Unity by releasing two games for the new generation on the same day. My problem is that I kind of feel like I want to play Rogue before I play Unity. Both because it is better to go from the old generation of game to the new and also because the seven years war which is the backdrop to Rogue is one of the things that lead up to the French revolution which is the backdrop to Unity.
I love this series, even though the gameplay is getting a little stale I'm still gonna buy both for their stories. Getting to view things from the templar side is pretty cool.
Rogue may be a reskin of Black Flag, but it is definitely NOT a "direct sequel" of it. The story has nothing to do with Black Flag. I don't know why, but that really bugged me when she kept saying that it is. Regardless, I'm extremely excited for this as well as Unity :D
I think people are being a little harsh on AC Rouge. I think what they've tried to do is market the game towards those who don't have an XB1 or PS4 and would like some closure on the series that's been on those consoles. Now they've made mistakes e.g. not offering it for the next gen consoles as well but I can understand their logic. I still have my PS3 so I'll pick up Rouge and Unity when they come out.
I've got a PS4 and still holding onto my PS3 due to the backlog of games I've still got to play. I'll definitely get Unity for PS4 but I think I'll wait a few months to get Rogue just in case they do bring it to current gen consoles.
I might pick up Rogue next summer if it's $20 or $30 and there's absolutely nothing else to play. I can't justify spending $120 for two Assassin's Creed games on the same day and play them alongside each other when 1. That would take up way too much time and dedication and 2. I would be playing an inferior game when I could I could be 100% focused on Unity. I kinda wish Rogue was coming out this year and Unity the next. That's the only way I would buy it at full price, or for like $40 or $50 if I found a sale or price drop somewhere and bought it for Christmas as opposed to the middle of November. And it would be logical to play Rogue before Unity, since Rogue seems to be taking as many elements and mechanics from Black Flag as possible while Unity appears to be taking a new direction with the series. Why would I essentially go through all of Black Flag again for such a high price? I already got my 100+ hours and $60 worth out of that game. A new story and setting aren't winning me over, so the tale they're telling in Rogue better not include details important to the overall storyline.
I just can't take this or Borderlands The Pre-Sequel seriously. They look to just be more glorified expansions of Assassin's Creed 4 and Borderlands 2. I can't help but look back at the GTA 4 expansions and see the same traits in these games. Same game, new story, reskinned and a few new features sold for a $60 price tag.
Thats not necessarily a bad thing. Gay Tony was a really great expantion. I'd say better than GTA IV. We will see when the game hits. I liked AC IV and I bet we will see this a few months later on PC, PS4 and XBO, Ubi just dosnt want to release this at the same time as Unity on PC, PS4 and XBO
Tyler Moser Anytime they release DLC you'd think that they made a new game of the year contender. I don't think I've run into any DLC they made that I didn't like.
Undead nightmare was by far the best dlc they ever made. I mean it came into a separate game. You didn't even have to buy RDR. but if you wanted could have both together.
They're missing out. AC4 was the first one I played, and I loved the ship and traveling to different islands. I have very little interest in Unity, but I would buy this one if it were next gen (why people are interested in sub 720p games running below 30fps for the same 60 bucks is beyond me).
The ratio of land vs sea is the same as Black Flag? I thought with the river valley being what the developers are calling a hybrid environment, plus New York, this game would have much more land based gameplay. Also, is there less eavesdropping and tailing in this game? Thanks.
This will likely be the last 360 game I play (right after Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel) for the console. After I'm through with AC:R, I'll likely have moved on to the new consoles. Also, I like how at 1:03, they just pretend as if that didn't happen.
Its sad that rogue looks like it will have the most interesting story and main character since revelations but will get over looked because of the crazy lack of innovation and time spent on rogue. This could have been the best AC we've had in a long time if they would have implemented some of the game play changes they put in unity or at least made any graphical tweeks to the engine.
Something I hated on AC4 was the lack of weapons, you literally only used your swords if you wanted to use different weapons you had to take them from enemies, but drop them after you killed them, I'm glad AC unity has tons of weapons & customization
AC4 also felt like "easy mode", meaning that it was much more fun when the guards didn't spot you from a mile away and even if they did you just hid in the bushes and they forgot where you went, lol.
That's an assumption that the PC version will look better than the console versions. It's not just a given. It's all about whether they put the effort into developing the game with PC in mind and then scaling back to console specs or whether or not they didn't bother to invest extra effort and made all versions equal. If you haven't seen that version then you shouldn't spread that information.
I liked ac4 black flag but I didn't care to much about the naval battles as much as I did for the story of the game and i'm not going through it again. I'll play assassin's creed unity because it's more on land then the previous but I usually wait for a price drop or if a family member or friend buys me the game.
Funny enough, I'm vastly more interested in this than Unity. I loved the naval side of AC4. I just hope the PC version will look the same as Unity in terms of graphical fidelity, but knowing Ubisoft I have a feeling Rogue will just be a bare bones port from last gen that will look WORSE than AC4 on the PC platform. But, maybe I'll be wrong.
I'll stick with just Unity, open ended black black box missions and at times more then 2,000 npcs on screen at once > then Driving a boat and playing a rehash of AC 4 just as a Templar
sweet jesus 2 AC, I think I might enjoy this more than the unity but I will buy both, I will enjoy this more because I enjoy black flag and pirate theme a lot
I guess they will release it eventually. AC: Liberation was a Vita exclusive and later was launch to Xbox 360 and PS3, so I guess they could do the same.
Alex Voorhees the reason it doesnt sell it that instead of making it steady 30fps or more they let the fps drop to 25 and lower....shitty games dont get bought and ofc the idiot that thinks only 6 people have a wii u clearly hasnt played games on it.
The Noob There's more to it than just a 5 frame difference. The fact that you're using a tablet as a controller doesn't help at all with the ability to port because devs don't want to put more money, time, and effort for basically re-innovating a whole new way to play a game they already put A LOT OF money, time, and effort making. PLUS the hardware is immensely different than the Xbox One, PS4, and PC. Honestly, if you want to play these AAA games, go with a cheap(unless you can go bigger) PC and play awesome ass first party games on WiiU. Trust me, the PC is 10000% worth it. They just learned from what happened to Call of Duty on the WiiU. Not that you'd play that garbage game anyway, but the same demographic usually applies to both games.
I can't see what all the bitching is about. "QQit's the same game with a different skin" It has the same gameplay with a few add ins. This does not make it the same game. Using this logic, all GTA since GTA3 were all the same game as well. People are putting too much stock in new features when games are reaching a point where something completely new is becoming harder to pull off. In some genres now all devs can really do is refine, and AC is no different. Outside of adding indoor gameplay, co op, or playing for the Templar, What more could the AC franchise offer in terms of gameplay? AC4 may have been the last great leap in gameplay with the whole ship play thing going on. I honestly can't see anything major happening to the franchise gameplay-wise short of using full blown maps with towns or settlements or a change in genre. Long story short, AC is really reaching the end of the line.
At least Rockstar improved on GTA after every iteration of their game. Ubisoft kinda stopped after AC 2, and proceeded to just reuse assets and mechanics to pump out yearly sequels. It's easy to see one company puts more time and effort into their games over the other. A game doesn't have to be completely new, just has to be rock solid. After 6 main games and 2 more on the way, Assassin's Creed is still not at the "rock solid" point. There's still far more improvements that can be made. Better combat and stealth come to my mind when I think about improvements for the franchise.
That was more directed at the crowd that expects entirely new things from the franchise. The point was, Gameplay-wise AC Only could have gotten so far before running dry in terms of innovation. And not just AC but gaming in general. Sooner or later we'll end up to a point where pretty much everything has been done in some shape or form. The point you made about improving on what's done was something that i was suppose have in my OP but it slipped my mind (it took me like 30 minutes to type that out by which time i forgot lol). That is pretty much what i expect this gen. New stuff is nice but i feel that from this gen on, it'll be more about taking what has already been done and refining it. Tighter controls, Tiny but extremely help changes to mechanics etc.
Masamaki21 Hahaha GTA improved? Seriously... It has been the same game since GTA 1, yes the town down one. They just jumped into 3rd dimension. And GTA4 and GTA5 were really bad in my opinion. The last great one was Vice City. I also did not like SA that much.
doesnt look any different as far as gameplay from black flag. once i beat ac 4, I think it will be a while till I can play an AC game again. The AC games are just too similar, they dont add enough fresh ideas over time. AC 4 was fun, but nothing special beyond sailing for a while.
Im sorry but this looks like the biggest waste of a game purchase there essentially becoming like COD by having thesame game developed two times by two different studios. Seriously whats the point of this. Its a money grab mainly because they wanted to have An AC game on all consoles but at the same time have ome specific for the new ones idk this is just bad business to me.
They already explained their review process and they feel an overall general statement is better than a numerical system for them, you may disagree but that's the way it is on Rev3.
Why do people still do gameplay impressions of assassin's creed games is beyond me. Its the same fucking thing over and over, only set in a different location, with npcs with different accents.
So glad this is coming to PC, I was a bit worried as I didn't have any last gen systems, despite Ubisoft's PC ports not always being great it's nice to see they're at least giving us the game.
Freaking loved AC3. Am I the only one?
Probably lol. Seriously though, there seem to be a good deal of people that do, they're just not as vocal as the people who didn't like AC3 (sorry to say I hated the game).
i liked ac3 too. especially the pitcairn assassination mission. plus, it introduce naval combat to the series.
I also liked it, but you know "the internet" and dumb ass gamers have no own opinion so it is cool to hate on things.
No I love ac3 too it was a major shift in the ac trilogy
Yea, I'll hold out for the PC version. I'll get this just for the naval combat.
Calling it now. AC Rogue will come out as a "remastered edition" for PS4 and Xbox One roughly 6 months after original release.
Yup. Ubisoft, "Lets reskin AC 4 and make people buy it twice cause fuck em thats why."
Kinda hard to tell, only time this happened was with the PSP game.
Man I loved AC 4, and I wouldn't mind if Ubi basically branched off the AC series with one more classical, city based format and one focused on naval gameplay, like it seems they're experimenting with. Its just a real shame its only last gen :/ I really don't want to downgrade from AC 4 to this
A very nice hands on Tara as always. Seeing so many ports I wouldn't be surprised if this game will come to "next" gen.
Tara, AC2, ACB, and ACR had these renovation side missions too. It isn't new, they are just bringing it back. ACB had the best system for that. The buildings and the crowds changed a lot, and it was literally all of Rome. You couldn't own all the buildings, but even the surrounding ones changed too
I don't care how good it looks. What matters to me is the story and game play.
(☞゚ヮ゚)☞ yes!
Finally somebody with a real gamer heart! :D

Well you are the only one, I played AC2, arguably the best by fans and I didn't like it at all.
*****
No, you are the only one ;) try to play brotherhood.
They didn't make AC Rogue for the new-gen consoles because it was too expensive. Getting tired of these 30 second un-skipable ads
Adblock, dude. It's awesome.
Erik Wiley Just saying.
lol I just got a skippable ad.
Erik Wiley
So suck it up.
NightStalker791 On my phone

the fact that Tara is a gamer, makes her that much more hotter.
I still haven't played any of these Assassin's Creed games. Unity looks pretty cool, might give it a go one day.

I really like the more natural theme, especially in Black Flag
I love this series, even though the gameplay is getting a little stale I'm still gonna buy both for their stories. Getting to view things from the templar side is pretty cool.
Not to sure what to think about this one
Rogue may be a reskin of Black Flag, but it is definitely NOT a "direct sequel" of it. The story has nothing to do with Black Flag. I don't know why, but that really bugged me when she kept saying that it is. Regardless, I'm extremely excited for this as well as Unity :D
Ya play the most Irish man in the world, Seamus O'Harrah McO' Toole.
The thing i think were all worried about. Will we have to sit through cut scenes of the same crap when we take over a ship?
I think people are being a little harsh on AC Rouge. I think what they've tried to do is market the game towards those who don't have an XB1 or PS4 and would like some closure on the series that's been on those consoles. You played as a Templar at the beginning of AC3.
So now there's TWO AC games coming out this year? How do people not get terribly bored of this series?
The same way people still buy COD and Battlefield
I just can't take this or Borderlands The Pre-Sequel seriously. They look to just be more glorified expansions of Assassin's Creed 4 and Borderlands 2. Any time rockstar ever releases DLC it's great.
Tyler Moser Anytime they release DLC you'd think that they made a new game of the year contender. I don't think I've run into any DLC they made that I didn't like.

I feel like the 1.10 mark was a missed opportunity to say "Gangs of New York",
That renovation system she explained isn't new AT ALL. It was introduced in Assassin's Creed 2! 2009!
Love you Tara :)
that machine gun is a upgrade/change from the Swivel Gun in ac4.
The pickle gun was mentioned in ac4 at the beginning created by James puckle
The ratio of land vs sea is the same as Black Flag? I thought with the river valley being what the developers are calling a hybrid environment, plus New York, this game would have much more land based gameplay. Also, is there less eavesdropping and tailing in this game? Thanks.
This will likely be the last 360 game I play (right after Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel) for the console. After I'm through with AC:R, I'll likely have moved on to the new consoles. Also, I like how at 1:03, they just pretend as if that didn't happen.
Rogue for the win!!
I wish THIS was coming to ps4. This looks way better than Unity imo
renovations have been around since ACII if I remember.
Way more intersted in that, than Unity. Will be downloading it, when its out on PC.
Awesome game
Its sad that rogue looks like it will have the most interesting story and main character since revelations but will get over looked because of the crazy lack of innovation and time spent on rogue. So the renovations its basically ac2
I liked ac4 black flag but I didn't care to much about the naval battles as much as I did for the story of the game and i'm not going through it again. I'll play assassin's creed unity because it's more on land then the previous but I usually wait for a price drop or if a family member or friend buys me the game.
How annoying it's not coming out on PS4/Xbox One. Hello Ubisoft, us gamers are upgrading, not downgrading.
How are the renovations a new side activity? Compared to AC4?
Funny enough, I'm vastly more interested in this than Unity. I loved the naval side of AC4. I just hope the PC version will look the same as Unity in terms of graphical fidelity, but knowing Ubisoft I have a feeling Rogue will just be a bare bones port from last gen that will look WORSE than AC4 on the PC platform. But, maybe I'll be wrong.
so there is 2 assassins creed games comming out?
I'll stick with just Unity, open ended black black box missions and at times more then 2,000 npcs on screen at once > then Driving a boat and playing a rehash of AC 4 just as a Templar
Game looks good, samey but fine. (The size of the rock on Tara's finger!)
sweet jesus 2 AC, I think I might enjoy this more than the unity but I will buy both, I will enjoy this more because I enjoy black flag and pirate theme a lot
So, It's AC 4.5, right?
Sweet, PC gets both AC games?!
If it releases on PS4 later, I'll buy it then-- but if not... Fuck it.
Looks fun enough
what's the abstergo mission like?
Did she cut her hair? It looks good
Ubisoft keeps taking my money on these AC games,
done with AC!
Bye!
Evan Smith Looks soooo damn sexy. That and Dragon Age I'd say are the first real "next gen" games.
Not Enough Actual Gameplay!
no wii u?
What was the music at the end?
Gorgeous.
Rogue still has a bit more to offer than unity I have played both
So AC Rogue won't be available for Xbone and PS4?
I bet it will be eventually. Unless it is very poorly received why would Ubisoft deny that money?
I guess they will release it eventually. AC: Liberation was a Vita exclusive and later was launch to Xbox 360 and PS3, so I guess they could do the same.
It's possible, but AC Rogue was pretty much only made to shut up all the whiners who can't keep up with the times.
if ac iv black flag is on the ps4 and xbox one, why wouldnt ubisoft bring rogue to ps4 and xbox one as well
ARRN yeah, that's what I'm thinking.
Please let me choose speed, I don't have all the time in the world
Just do speed, no need for sleep and you have more time to game!
and ubisoft is to lazy to make an wii u version...
Its cause it never sells
We'll just play smash bros and Beyonetta and all the other greats coming out this year until they figure it out.
Alex Voorhees
the reason it doesnt sell it that instead of making it steady 30fps or more they let the fps drop to 25 and lower....shitty games dont get bought

MrExplosivcorn
still lazy, if they made a decent port it would have sold better. and now with unity im sure ubisoft is just a lazy bunch.
ty tara
Ps4 or no sale
That is all
Rather just wait till they port this game over to ps4 and xone
Eh I'll get it when it's $4.99 on Steam
doesn't look as good as Unity, but i love AC anyways

***** many people don't have a ps4 or xbox one to play unit, AC brotherhood was basically a AC II dlc and it's the best AC of all time.
240p? Really?!

1080p here.
Peasantboxes can't handle more!

formerdave94 no shit captain obvious
They already explained their review process and they feel an overall general statement is better than a numerical system for them, you may disagree but that's the way it is on Rev3.
InMaTeofDeath It's because they are getting paid for reviews these days. It's why quite a few left.
PHeMoX Source?

It's just a bunch of shitty PCs
MrExplosivcorn Not really. They looks great.
So... it is just a cash grab.
Why do people still do gameplay impressions of assassin's creed games is beyond me. Its the same fucking thing over and over, only set in a different location, with npcs with different accents.
So is COD and Battefield, your point?
