This Macallan is pretty darn good. Finally tried it recently! I want to try The Macallan M next but it is tough to get my hands on one or even a sip of the M or M Black.
Not sure what to say about the bottle but the reviews was awesome. I wouldn’t even think of buying the bottle or even ordering a pour in a bar. Your whisky journey is interesting. Cheers!!
Great review guys - as whiskey enthusiasts though, even if it were closer the price of the current 18, are you able to enjoy it for the price without thinking that it's probably not close to what a higher ABV version of it would be like taste-wise? More of a comment on expensive non-cask strength Macallan bottlings these days - it seems a 43% 18 yo bottle from 15 years ago had a nicer and bigger flavour hit that was still quite enjoyable for enthusiasts even at that ABV. Thank you Sam! Of course we want full strength but we also know that's not going to happen. With no 6 you are getting some very good casks so its not just the decanter. That's why we compared it to older 18's since those had that full flavor, even at 43% with older epic casks macallan would use.
Great review! Sounds like you might want to pour Macallan 18yo 1994 or earlier into that Lalique when it's empty. That's the quality of juice that should be in such a decanter.
Awesome review boys. This is the ultimate suit type whisky. Not meant for the connoisseur in my opinion. A display piece in the Wall St. Office is how I see this.

I see this bottle everyday at work. I've read all of your comments, so I'll keep my opinion. I have an unopened bottle of Spring Bank 18 1st batch , only 7800 bottles. Have you ever tried it? Great review and thanks for the entertainment

Nice review fellas. My favorite Macallan so far (assumed to be) is The Maltman Secret Speyside 16yr 1st fill sherry cask 900145. The 6 is too high up on the hog for me and the low abv is criminal for the price. Cheers!
