Zulie and Nik, thank you for doing this interview - two of my favorite Medium writers! I enjoyed the relaxed chat and you both confirmed my suspicions about choosing a writing topic. Combining "write what you know" with "write what you love" is paramount. It may not bring in gobs of money on Medium, especially while we wait for further site-wide changes, but I maintain that it's important to follow your passion. Your audience is out there.
You also confirmed the idea of branching out to take advantage of other opportunities. I recently dived back into a book manuscript that I hope to have published next year. Thank you both!

New income reveal soon? Would be interesting comparing it to before all changes.

I think your videos are great, Zulie. Unfortunately, I cannot see my target audience using Medium because of its "progressive," "liberal" slant. I have no desire to write for this audience, and I certainly don't want to pay to read authors who target them. If only there was more "diversity" of thought on the platform, it may be an option. Can anyone recommend an alternative platform for alternative voices?
