Started Kindred Spirits yesterday and am enjoying it, only my second square drill canvas. I love hearing tricks and tips, I always watch in awe as you use your multi placer. I still single place😜. Thanks for all the info.
I loved your confessions because it makes you real. I haven’t considered membership because I don’t understand how it can advantage me. Being down under we don’t have the advantages that a lot of other listeners probably do, and if it’s just about hearing something earlier I feel that it is feeding impatience. I’d love to hear some of your jokes (that made me laugh). Just keep being you because you’re unique. The number of followers that you have is all you need to show you how much you’re appreciated.

You are the only Diamond Art person that I listen to because you always have interesting, and informative videos. I am subscribed to a ton of channels, just because I like to listen to something while I work on a project. However, I have not become a member of any of them. I would miss it if you didn't do diamond painting videos, I value your opinion on new products and kits, and I'm also looking forward to videos on Canada. I've only been there once (Niagara Falls) many years ago, and I've wished I could have traveled there more. So I look forward to whatever you decide to show us 🙂
Regarding youtube memberships vs patreon: I have not subscribed to any youtube memberships, but I do donate to some youtubers via patreon. For me the difference is that through patreon I can donate to youtubers whose content I love, but the content I'm seeing would be the same regardless of whether I was donating or not. I'm not paying for special access to something, but simply supporting the people who provide me with so much entertainment. The limited access/early access stuff that I've seen in youtube memberships annoys me, so I've avoided doing them. Occasionally some people do polls/etc through patreon as well, but I usually don't bother to participate in those - it's not the "special" stuff that a membership provides, but the ability to say "I watch several hours of your content every month, and I really enjoy it - I'd like to see you continue to provide that content, so I want to donate to support you". I've also heard a lot of negative stuff about youtube's handling of things like advertising income/etc, so supporting people via an external platform instead of via youtube itself feels "safer" in that I know how much of what I donate will actually be given to the content creator. UA-cam has too much power over content creators, and in any dispute with youtube content creators really don't have any ability to defend themselves when youtube makes mistakes, so that I'd prefer to support the content creator outside of youtube's clutches.
That makes a lot of sense - I’ve not done memberships or Patreon on other channels, so wasn’t really sure what ‘value’ people were getting. Thanks for sharing!!
Hello. New person here, Diamond painting for about a week. I have gotten so much from your videos already and I like your voice and sense of humor. If you decided to do a membership, some things I have seen my other channels offer are polls on what to do next, special live wip or Q&A and giveaways. As long as your pitch is short, never bothers me. Again, thank you for your videos, they are partly why I finally bought a project and tried this hobby (I also do coloring) both are for pain & anxiety management, keeping my mind & hands busy is very helpful. 🧡🖤🧡
❤Love your channel & all videos and will subscribe to 2nd channel in just a second. As many others have said here...Stay true to yourself & do what's fun for you! ❤😅😊 And yes Alice I'm home! Terrific video, Daphne! Loved your confessions, totally would’ve enjoyed the chocolate chip video.! Congrats on the new channel. I will definitely subscribe. I’ve been a subscriber here since you were under 500 subscribers! I'm surprised you don't watch larger channels. I love your channel and wish you had even more videos but I love how you also don't push to sell things😊
I’m a wax UA-camr. I’m very basic. I don’t edit and just record for the love of wax. Being monetized isn’t important for most wax people. We just like sharing what we warm. I do watch a lot of wax UA-cam and certainly a good amount of DP UA-camrs. I love your videos because you are calm in your speaking and it’s comforting. There are some I decided not to watch due to certain content and it doesn’t jive with me.
I love your videos, they are very informative. I don't watch videos/channels that I'd have to pay for. As always, thanks for sharing. Keep up the good work. Chocolate chips made me chuckle.
I enjoy your videos and find them entertaining. I have also learned things about non diamond painting topics, like freezing my credit and international bank transfer fees that I didn’t know about😊. I have already subscribed to your new channel and look forward to watching those videos as well.
In all fairness when I first went looking for information (ok it's called "content", my age is showing 😆). I had like 15 different channels. I've very quickly wittled it down to those that don't irritate me (I know awful, right?). I now follow 5. 2 that keep me informed on the bigger companies and a 3 that touch on a little of everything. So keep up the good work your enjoyable to watch ❤️
@@rosesmith6925 I followed a ton of people at first too, but it seemed like a lot of the bigger channels were all covering the same thing. 🤷♀️ Thanks for watching!!
I don't think that I would have redone the cookie episode. I would have had people guess what it was that was under your nail. 🤣🤣🤣 Love watching your videos! And I always love tutorials. My brain needs the reminders. ❤ I am looking forward to the new channel.😊
I understand what you say, it's fair game as well as watching others 😅 I wonder if once in Canada you've been interested by doing a Shopping video. Showing us how you choose wich website, why and what you choose for you VS the Channel 😊
I like your voice it’s calming and I like how you review products. The good and the not so good parts of drills or canvases or putty or pens or funnels.
I respect that you aren’t selling us something, and haven’t gotten into memberships or patreon accounts. I have UA-cam Premium as well as two memberships to lawtube channels where the lawyers do extensive case law research, present and analyze current interesting legal cases, etc. That’s a different type of UA-cam channel that I can justify supporting. Meanwhile I don’t have memberships to every law channel I watch because I don’t think they are all equal in quality content. Also, different than diamond painting channels, there aren’t affiliate links associated with the law channels I support! 😀 I’ve really cut back on the diamond channels I watch because so many are simply “sneak peak” or hauls but I never see the content creator actually diamond painting. Those channels end up seeming more promotional than craft oriented, and I am tired of creators trying to sell me something. Your channel has become one of the few diamond painting channels I watch because you truly seem to enjoy diamond painting and show yourself doing the craft.
I really enjoy this mini whip and chat. Especially as you’re busy with moving. Very interesting. I am glad you are continuing with the channel! I’m not surprised UA-cam is pushing memberships since they scrape a generous chunk off the top of thirty percent. Personally, I’d rather watch ads or if I felt inclined send you an Amazon gift or PayPal; so you get the reward for your work . I am sure they are already getting compensation through ad share and premium subscription that cuts creators out of ad revenues. Just like Vegas, the house always wins 😂 And I absolutely got your reference Alice🤣🙌
I watch because I find your vids interesting and educational, diamond painting wise. I tend to not watch channels that have memberships or expect me to pay. I watch with closed caption most of the time because a night worker, day sleeper lives here. Hmmm, to date myself: I find your vids... Groovy 😁. ☮.
I'm watching because I like to see unboxings. Different creators like different things. If I like what is unboxed I check out the place it came from to see if they deliver to my country. I'm watching this video because it sounded interesting.
Ive been watching your videos and have decided to try DP. I went on line and have at least 25 kits ordered and hope I like this craft. At this point, I don't know if I should thank you or not. Ive picked up alot of info from you, but I do have a question. I understand canvases are glue or tape. How do you tell the difference?
@@marysickler3913 These days, most canvases are poured glue and come with a transparent plastic cover. Double sided tape canvases have an opaque cover (that isn’t see through) and generally has blue lettering on it. Thanks for watching!!

I guess it did surprise me when you said that you didn’t watch other creators. I understand not wanting to fall into the comparative trap. I also believe in a few supportive people for a creative network. I do think if you popped into Tina’s Friday night live as a lurker, you’d get some much deserved laughs! I’ve become so invested in Your moving! You’re doing such a big move and I’m so interested in how it’s going. I am looking forward to the new UA-cam channel. I know some one who moved from Canada to here. I’m curious to see how different thing are moving TO The US vs FROM the US. I really hope you get to continue this channel from Canada. I would miss you terribly! I’m going to start goals in 2025. You inspired me. 😊 My son has a very popular UA-cam channel. He looks at all the analysis stuff. It changes so much that it’s a constant learning process. I wouldn’t want the headaches. This is long enough. Have a great day and thank you for the video.
I watch a variety of channels but not necessarily all their videos. I like post reviews but not unboxings. I don’t subscribe to any memberships because I am a single income household. I think there is value in watching a variety of diamond painting UA-cam channels to actually be a part of the community and learn from others.
You are correct, and I am subbed to various channels. I just don't watch every video that comes out. It also depends how much free time I have. Thanks for sharing!!
I appreciate you not swearing or using bad language on your videos. It stresses me to hear bad language partly bc there was a lot of it in my childhood home with the arguing & constant fighting-not physically fighting but loud voices with bad language. A couple of popular content creators on youtube drop the f bomb regularly & I finally had to stop listening & unsubscribe. It sets my nerves on edge & takes me to an unhappy place. I'm no toddler that needs to avoid hearing swear words. I'm retired & need to avoid hearing them so I don't go mental. Thank you for not swearing.
Thank you for the great video, I am a content creator (diamond painting also), I purposely do not want to learn how to edit my stuff because I dont want you tube taking over my diamond painting time in that sense. Your videos are great, I enjoy your content. Totally get the not watching others! Re the membership thing - I wouldnt ever become a member to any channel, I would rather spend my $ on painting if that makes sense lol... sorry to those who do ask for memberships (no offence intended). 😀😃🤩
As I have told you before, after I stumbled upon your channel, I gave up even trying to watch others. Your degree of professionalism is far above the crowd. My husband watches a great many You Tubers around his hobby of audio systems and sound. We won't even discuss what he has spent on sound systems over the years. He had supported a few of those channels, wanting to help out the presenters, but after about a year of supporting them, he has found that his support buys him nothing and doesn't seem to matter much to the You Tuber, so he has cancelled those. I am happy to send the occasional check just to let you know how much your information means to me, but I think having a subscription might be off-putting to some people. Whatever you decide to do, I'll still be here eagerly awaiting your next video. Just keep doing what you do so well.
I will not be a member to anyone’s channel because I would not be able to choose and I don’t have extra money either lol I love watching while I diamond and paint :)
Please tell me what youre working on. What is the gold object? In my head its screaming snake 😂. Im here for the stories. And youve done a J Wall. She was my first love in cross stitch. Ive yet to do a dp or xs of hers. How about this ... do you remember the siamese elephants on carol burnett?
IF I ever make videos, I like to think I wouldn't worry about what other channels are doing. The way I look at it is there are so many dp channels out there that there is nothing I could do that would be original. There's no way I could make myself work on something I don't like. It already takes me forever to complete a diamond painting. I would never complete something I didn't like.
@@colorfulcolorist6532 That’s a fair point. And things do change, so information gets outdated. I’ve liked everything I’ve done, just some more than others! 😂 Thanks for watching!!
PS Membership feels too exclusive to me. Patreon doesn’t seem to feel as exclusive. I have chosen to be a patron but I have never chosen to be a member; it reminds me too much of high school. (Maybe even junior high. That’s the reference that dates me!) Unfortunately both of the channels I patronized managed to find ways to make it feel more like a membership over time so I not only withdrew my patronage, I unsubscribed. They weren’t wrong but their content just wasn’t valuable enough to me to put up with the vibe. For the record, neither of those were diamond painting channels, but I have unsubscribed from a diamond painting channel when the content creator added membership. It became all she ever talked about anymore. Definitely junior high!
Oh, I thought a popular membership perk was just early access to videos. So members would get them early, but the other subscribers would get them at a later date. I definitely need to try this out myself and see all the ins/outs. Thanks for watching!!
Great video again :) I subscibed to you new channel. curious for the movies there. I am a member on a aviation spotter channel and i like it very much. It is more that i support the channel and he one who ownes it. I have acces to special member videoś messages and i have a little avatar next to my name there wich indicate how long i am a member there. If you want you always can become a member at a channel that offers that to see how it is. Only the memberships are automaticly renewed every month so you need to un-subscribe in time if you won be a member anymore. If you want to know something more, let me know.
since you brought it up.... I love your videos and content, my only constructive criticism would be to just say cut less. I have felt like you are chopping to much and often cutting yourself off to much. No one is going to care about a truck going by, dog barks, or if a family member walks in. Maybe if you need to stop for a minute to step away, just say hang on and pause the camera.....but life happens and those little moments make people relate to you more. Congratz on your house selling. im looking forward to your moving videos.

I enjoy your videos the most.
I appreciate that! Thanks for watching!!
Membership feels too exclusive to me.
