    Egotistical, self-delusional, megalomaniac, pompous looser, or basically a jerk. Can anybody play this role better than Steve Martin? The first time I saw "Jerk" as a kid, I was rolling on the ground , almost choking from laughter. And I didn't even understand English as a child!!! 🤣😆🤗(It's not my first language). He is flat out brilliant and a comedic genius.

    I believe that it’s ridiculous that some dopes opened a chain of bars called HOOTERS.

    • @bobdavis4848
      @bobdavis4848 2 роки тому +1

      That would indeed be ridiculous. Good thing Hooters are restaurants and not bars, in the sense of fewer incidents of drunks harassing the waitresses.

      2 years after this aired. The name was inspired by this monologue!

  • @leobrussel9471
    @leobrussel9471 2 роки тому +4

    When he did this on SNL, there were a couple of differences that I thought were an improvement. I think he had Ned instead of Todd, and it was "waving his penis out the window." For me, the name was funnier and window was a nuce addition.
    The robot/luggage joke was much funnier on SNL. I think it went "And I believe- and I know this sounds crazy -that at this very moment robots are stealing my luggage". That to me was nuch funnier with the sentiment being interrupted with the recognition of its inherent insanity, as though it were an aside, rather than having the sentiment predicated on that. It was also funnier since he was hosting SNL and, presumably staying in a hotel where he would have kuggage.
    Whenever I am travelling and find myself in a political discussion, this is the way I tell it. To pretty good laughs and/or quizzical expressions.

      Also on SNL he says "I believe that the battle of the network stars should be fought with guns" which is one of the funniest lines I've ever heard!
