Good to know there's a backup method, but my update installed OTA without a problem. I'm kinda hoping we'll get another, more thorough update when the 2025 model goes on sale. We'll see!
Me too. This felt like a need to give them something, but also don't want to give too much so salesman can say certain features are only available in the latest model years for some time before they quietly update the older models like they did when battery heating wasn't available in the first model year, but were able to add it via a software update after the next model year promoted that it was a new feature for a few months.
It is weird, here in Canada, the updater need a USB drive over 75 GB, so even 64 GB is too small, I had to buy a 128 GB thumb drive. For the rest of the update process, it went very well.
Thanks for this. I would definitely do this if it came with wireless android auto/apple carplay, but since that's not included yet I'll wait for it to come sometime between now and next year. I still have hope that wireless android auto/apple carplay will eventually be added to all Ioniq # and EV# after the upgraded versions have been on sale for some time to be able to say this feature is currently only available on the latest model year.
@@TheIoniqGuy Okay. Never thought about using the Bluelink app. Many thanks. And thanks for making these videos. I have bookmarked most of them when related to my 2023 Ioniq 5 Limited AWD.
The first couple of years we had our Ioniq 5 the OTA updates lagged 3-4 months behind the initial release. There were only a couple of updates that I didn’t want to wait on. Honestly I found the manual update process to be extremely troublesome. I tried all the Hyundai website instructions and different online tips. Nothing work consistently.
It is troublesome and I'm more on the side of wait for the OTA update just in case there is a bug that gets fixed in that four month window. Only wireless android auto/apple car play would get me to try to do a manual update at this point.
re: Over-the-air updates - To the best of my knowledge, I do not have this feature on my 2022 Ioniq 5 SEL (US). Am I correct about this? I did one manual USB update early on, but have never seen any evidence of OTA capability😢 Thanks! Your channel has been my go-to for a long time now for all things Ioniq ✅
All 2022s are capable of OTA. I believe it was the first infotainment update that needed to be installed manually which would allow OTA for all future updates.
There was an OTA update which started downloading for me but seemed to go away and the October '23 update disappeared from the site. If I try to run the updater it throws a message about a temporary problem downloading the update. I guess they hit a flaw with the rollout of the update for EU Ioniq 6s and pulled it pending a fix.
I tried downloading the update from the UK for my ioniq 6... When i clock thr model and region in the downloader software it says currently not available .. I've been trying for few days Any help on what to do?
Was wondering if anyone here have an Ioniq 6 and does their navigation give them SOC at charging stops. I have noticed that Ioniq 5 navigations has charging stops displays SOC on route planner. Just wondering if any other Ioniq 6 owners noticed this or do I have the wrong route planner in my car.
Update is 37gb, so It doesn’t fit on a 32gb USB key. And you may risk loosing some functionality’s by using a different update model year… or installing the next update for your model year… Better to call Hyundai or chat with Mapnsoft support representative.
I had a tough time getting the update to complete successfully. It took about a dozen attempts. The problem is that my main usb port if flaky. I tolerate it when it’s just CarPlay dropping out, but the issue running the updates makes me think I need to hound the dealer to replace the usb port. I know I’m not the only one with this issue. Just wondering if anyone has had success getting the dealer to do a replacement.

Thanks so much for sharing the manual update procedure. Updating as we speak.

I was told that there was no update for Genesis in Canada by the techs from Mapsoft.
@@chrisspanswick7312 I don't know for Genesis, I have a 2024 Ioniq 5. But I had to select "2023 Ioniq 5", update is not list for 2024 model
@@jeangoupil8129 there’s rumors that they may be an update for Genesis in Canada later this month. Thanks for your reply.👍

I notice that you have your Ioniq Guy logo as your avatar on the car's screen. How did you do that? Thanks!
You can change it via your profile in the Bluelink app. Click on your name at the top after clicking the menu button on the bottom right.

Shortly after posting this comment I noticed the OTA down loading process on our Ioniq 5 had been initiated.
Had my Ioniq 6 for six months and had to do the manual update twice now. I hate waiting & even wish they had a beta program.

In Germany, the list of eligible vehicles does NOT include the Ioniq 6.
In Norway is the same problem
All over Europe the same problem 🤬 latest usb update is from oktober november 2023

Known issue, the dealer will replace it no problem
Just keep your car on during the update so your 12v doesn’t drain
Corbin, heads’s up! Your Gmail address is showing in the screenshots you use for the Nav updater.

Or sell your Hyundai and get a used Tesla
