I had a 1986 359 but it was a work truck. It worked 6 days a week and it got worked on on Sunday. A little time to polish wheels and tanks and rub a little polish on the bumper and stacks but no time for customizing and shows. I had B61 Macks, 359 and 379 Pete's, Freightliner and Pete COE'S, All the cool stuff everybody wants now but nobody thought they were cool back then. Just think how much respect Cow Haulers are given now. When I was a Cow Hauler people turned their nose up at us. When I started we had 38' and 40' trailers. I had one stainless steel reefer but it wasn't a Great Dane it was a Fruehauf with meat rails. I hauled swinging meat from Chicago to Florida and fruit and Produce back to the little people up North. I love those folks and their truck. They are keeping them good old trucks alive and in circulation.❤🇺🇸
I know of a “69”, 359 with a Detroit just sitting and slowly rusting away😢 was able so start her a couple years back, and drove her around the yard. No power steering, no A/C and twin sticks. I would love to get her! Lots of work is needed, and retirement is near, what a project it would be!
Real nice Hot Rod truck folks, like all of the little personal touchs. Thanks for sharing your pride and joy with us. Stay safe on your journeys out on the road.
Awesome!!! The first truck I drove was a 85 359 Pete long nose. 400hp Cat and it was painted white with 15 transmission to the dash. I drove for my dad. When you got in the sleep the memories all came back. Wow this truck is a good shape.
That was an absolute awesome video. The 359 was and still is a Legend. A Beautiful truck I would love to see the 362. Yes sir. Mad Respect to you and your wife. Great Job.
Love the vent window delete. Been gathering info to do it to my 94 379 and glad to see you are able to use the original interior door handle. Didnt know if there was enough clearance but now I know
Dude I love that thing it's a very very clean ride hopefully after I get done what with I'm going through I'll put out more videos of the progress of mine
You're only going to open the back window in the sleeper going down the road one time and then you'll know why you don't. The sleeper creates a backdraft and that open window let's in heat from the engine and trans and road dust.
To each their own but removing the vent windows?🤔 Vent windows was the best way to get fresh air into the cab plus they helped with keeping the windows from fogging up. It is a nice looking truck though.
87 would be last year for 359 - timeless classic . The " Nickel 9" was Peterbilt's original "large car " & still the best looking 1 . Won't find any fiberglass on them ( Fiberglass has NO CLASS )... Good that he big holed sleeper & went to electric side windows . Hopefully he swapped out air wipers to electric . Beautiful restoration job - this year & model are VERY sought after & through the roof $$$ .
Ya cant beat the old window vents if your a smoker. Dying breed for sure.

I don’t know if y’all look at the comments but I’m coming to Tennessee in August the 3 through the 10 a I was wondering if I could stop by the shop
Absolutely! We never mind having visitors.
someone please tell me more about that steering column
Looks like a flaming river column
What kind of engine is in there?
What’s the wheelbase on this rig?
What is the make and model of the engine of this truck? 🙂
Looks like a Chevy burnished brown
Hi
The only thing I don't like is that the lower door window would keep the main window from opening more than halfway.
Engine model name ?
Cool truck........wish I could find a real woman, like he's got, that loves trucks and truck shows.....👍👍👍
Anybody looking a big sleeper 362 I have one.
YEAH 👍 👍 they Don't make them like they used too"10-4 CAT DIESEL POWER 4LIFE10-4 O.G.CALIFORNIA DIRT HAULER BACK QUIET 🤫.
First to like
I wonder why they didn't use this colour scheme for optimus prime and the truck. 🤔🗿🗿
Ruined it by Modification on the doors removing the Wing Windows.
I love this dude!!! I am suprised that you haven't researched P r o m o S M!
