  • This is the final year of the current generation Cadillac CTS-V. Under the hood is the LT4 supercharged V8 pumping out 640 HP & mated to an 8-speed automatic. This CTS-V has the full carbon fiber pkg including a carbon fiber hood. On the inside there is upscale finishes along with some amazing seats to hold you in place. Will this be an end of an ULTRA high performance era for the CTS-V, and if so should you pick one up today?

    I really can't stand the "hellcat" comments. This Cadillac is luxury performance. The hellcat is plastic with a great motor. Nothing more. The Cadillac is the "full package".

    • @drivecfl
      @drivecfl 5 років тому +8

      Correct! While other non luxury brands are offering creature comforts too now with the power, there is a reason why there are luxury brands and non. The material qualities and stuff under the hood so to speak, are better quality in the luxury brands. There is a reason for the price differences.

  • @mybro727

    1. I say there’s nothing wrong with the engine cover. It’s a very classy touch and it looks clean. This vehicle isn’t just for the track and people aren’t leaving it parked with the hood up as they make a quick run into the office. This vehicle is a class-act luxury sedan FIRST, *then* a performance car. So the V-badged cover makes sense.
    2. Again, GM did right imo. I think they definitely should have detuned the engine for the Cadillac CTS-V since it’s not in any way meant to be a Corvette alternative. It’s a family luxury sedan that happens to have the power to blow your top off. I don’t think there’s one person to drive one and complain about a lack of power. Detuning does however leave _something_ to be desired, especially for the car enthusiast who are numbers driven. Knowing this isn’t the top numbers for that engine allows for the Corvette to keep it’s own appeal. Smart move from GM or maybe I just understand the logic behind the CTS-V.
    I love how you give a little history behind the brand. Great reviews man, your knowledge of the vehicle and attention to detail is much appreciated. Oh and you’re in my hometown. Saint Pete! Stand up.💯🔥 Lol. Keep up the great work, man!

    Got to realize at this price point you don't see many of these, especially with many other choices that give you more than adequate power for the daily driver. Add in the slower sales of sedans in general it isn't surprising what they're doing. It will save them production cost and also be more attractive to the sedan buyers that still exist with their new offerings.

      @@darwinLee81283 yep!My family owns and operates a transmission business and can tell you first hand how many issues with 8l90s and 8l45s have had, for sure lots of shifting issues. Like I said my 6l90 is a monster and requires little to no upgrades and is good for almost 1000hp, just make sure to keep it cool and itll serve you well!

    Not going to lie,having just watched your review of the ct4, I much prefer the sportier,edgier look other previous generation CTS, particularly this V.
    To me, the CT4 is basically the CTS with softer,more rounded edges.
    Random thought: The first generation of the CTS coupe reminds me of the 1981 Seville sedan from the rear, which was striking and attractive to me, because it was so unlike anything else on the road at the time.

    Too much power
    , you've got to be kidding...I bought my 2014 CTSV Coupe for the power...if it's to much power then don't buy the V. The 556 hp from the factory is the main reason I bought the Caddy. I drive my car with the traction control off, nothing worse than pulling into traffic and the traction control shuts off your power, but the traffics still coming. Great set-up for a wreck !
