I got these pedals after talking to calavera and man these are a true game changer. I recommend them to anyone and would buy them again if anything happens with my current ones. If you’re on the fence about them, buy them. It’s a great hybrid system that keeps your feet locked while at the same time easy to unlock from them AT WILL. I almost feel guilty to the point where it feels like I’m cheating with how much control I have while effortlessly trying. They help out greatly in flat places like here in Houston where everything is mostly hard pedaling and also climbing is so much easier. My concern was the weight but Yeezus the bike feels so much lighter for some reason. Yes they’re pricy but it’s a very small price to pay for so much more confidence and enjoyment out of your expensive MTB hobby. In other words, great buy and shout out to calavera, great freaking content keep it up brother!
Great review! Your video skills with the close up views are some of the best I’ve seen! Keep up the great work. Trying to decide if I want to give these pedals a try over my flats.
Yup, gonna give these a try. I’m currently using Magped’s on both my HT and FS. (3 yrs). One set is almost worn out. These seem lighter and the new technology might make a difference. Thanks for the review.
Thanks for the review. I have been researching Magpeds vs Magpeds and have decided to go with these. Didn't even know about them until your video. I used your coupon so hopefully you get a nice kickback
Sweet you’re going to love them! The Avery pedal works the best for me. Let me know what you think! @@CalaveraChronicles I want to get them. It would be great if they understood the sales and manufacturing process a little better in order to keep them in stock. I suggested that they offer pre-paid ordering to help level out their production process.

No problem I’m glad I can help! I’m a big fan of magnetic systems so it’s cool to see more companies come out with their versions which seems to be the next evolution of the system. I’m loving these right now. I suggest just ordering a set of extra k-9’s if you want the maximum grip set up.

You’re absolutely right I misspoke. I addressed it on the comment section. I should’ve said “the lightest from the strongest connecting pedal” both magped Fort Knox and Avery pedal are by far stronger than the enduro. Thank you for correcting me.
Can you feel the weight difference between magped and these while riding? I am on the fence between the two. My only concern with the Avery pedals is the weight.
The bike feels lighter even though the Avery pedals are heavier since the connection is stronger. After owning both. I liked the magpeds but absolutely love the Avery pedals for my type of riding.
If you could help me out, please: I am looking for magnetic pedals for my gravel bike. The terrain ist hilly and flat, too. I also plan to use my gravel bike mor race-oriented. Can you recommend the magpeds, too? Writing from Europe. Thank you!
These are the next evolution to magnetic pedals. Stronger connection, lighter, look great pins are pretty sharp and easy to remove. I had my doubts about them having a stronger connection but they definitely pulled it off. So far these work the best for me.
So far these work the best for me. It’s like each raised the bar in the order that I tried them. They all had little issues that kept on getting dialed with the next design. Right now hustle bike labs are the next evolution in my personal opinion. On a side note I really like magnetic pedals and seeing more companies coming out is kinda cool to see. The 30 day money back guarantee is cool because you basically get to demo them. If you give them a try. I definitely recommend getting the k-9 pins for maximum grip. I forgot to mention that you can still ride the pedals with regular shoes because of the nice size pins.
It’s definitely worth the wait! Thanks for taking the time to watch the video! They’re doing a couple minor changes in a good way. I definitely recommend getting some k-9(the taller ones) I personally like the grippy feel. They’re shooting for spring time so I would join their e-mail list.
Now they just need to make them half as thick. Clips are for uphill and power pedalling along with keeping feet on in rough terrain. For uphill hard efforts you're going to pull your feel off the pedals and they're not good for that. They're good for just a light connection to the bike and helping keep your feet on the pedals through rougher terrain but you can do that just dropping your heels.
Yeah might have to sacrifice some of the connection force. Have you tried these specific pedals or are you talking about the other brands? Reason I ask is because my friend says he feels the difference when climbing on the hustlebikelabs pedals. I personally can’t tell since I’ve been on magnetic pedals for over 3 years now. So for climbing I feel the same like on my original pedals that I started with.
Your reviews are FAB. Thank U! Quick question: Remtech's are still all sold out and predicting new product not being avail until Spring of '23. What's your honest 2nd choice? I'm leaning towards the Maglock Fort Knox vs the Magped and then I'll pick up a set of Avery's when they're back. Just wanted your opinion on #2 choice. Stay fresh.
If you want the strongest pull it would be the Avery. Second would be the Fort Knox and last magped. I heard about the hustle bike labs being out of stock. Definitely keep an eye out for those because those are by far my favorite at the moment. Good luck brother!
I just got these (as in yesterday) to try as a replacement for my Magpeds. Like these a a lot more, even without having them perfectly set up yet (too dang cold for April). You mentioned multiple times that they're the lightest magnetic pedals out there, but the website says 750g/pair without pins. Every version of MagPed pedals weigh much less than that...?
You are correct brother! It’s been a long time since I used the magpeds. But I would say that the remtech and maglocks have a stronger connection for more rowdy terrain and jumps. I should’ve said from the strongest pulling force pedals they are the lightest. Just weighed the magpeds and they’re at 580g per pair with pins and the remtech at 784g with pins so that’s 204 grams difference. Thank you for correcting me! I appreciate it.

I came from shimano multi release to the hustle bike labs pedals and love these way more than that shining setup. Game changer when you are trying to clip in fast on a decent or climb you just put your foot on pedal and go versus trying to clip in and maybe mixing the clip in multiple times.
Hey, planning on using your code for Maglock or Remtech. Not sure which is best for me. All I pretty much do is pavement (road) uphill climbs on my mountain bike, and looking for magnetic pedals so I can pull up on the pedal. Is Remtech overkill for me? Looks like they're sold out too... Thanks
Hmm. I would I recommend the hustlebikelabs but you’re right they’re sold out. If you really want to pull hard on the up stroke clipless will probably be best too.
Are the magnets stronger than the Magped Enduro's? I have a bad leg and it floats with the Mapeds, looking for something with a little more bite on the rocks and jumps.

@CalaveraChronicles Nice! I've thought about going clipless but not too sure. I heard that the magnet pedals would be more ideal. I saw a few riders using them and they recommended these.
The perfect part doesn’t exist. Some things work for some people. The cool thing about hustle is that they offer money back if you’re not happy with them. I think they’re out of stock at the moment but with any magnetic system you’re gonna have to take your time towards getting them dialed in. But yeah try them out and let me know what you think! Hustle is by far my favorite now. Magnet pulling force and the pins definitely keep you on the pedals. @@CalaveraChronicles will do, got them on, but haven't ridden them yet Doesn't have infinite float like the other 3 mag pedals its more inline with clipless Less than 10° Its the second strongest magnet (hustle bike being #1)
Finally got my first ride in with the J Ride pedals due to so much rain. They did well, magnets, just like the hustle bike are strong enough to hold whole i juse use my legs to do a bunny hop, just as easy to mount/dismount. Hustle bike is easier to clean out on the go when you get mudd in them.. My take is, if youre comming from flats, go hustle bike, if youre comming from clipless, go J pedals Next next pedal to try will be the pitbulls... they're marketed towards roadies, so no idea how theyll work for MTBing
If you’re coming from clipless pedals you probably will miss the full connected feeling. It will most likely benefit a flat pedal rider more. Only one way to find out though
Same thing I said when I first tried magnetic pedals. But the bike feels lighter since your legs help out now even though you’re adding weight. I’ve had mag pedals that weighed 498g per pedal and the bike still felt lighter.
Just delete my previous comment. I kept mixing up the magpeds with maglocks. Looking back now I believe you’re right! The magpeds are lighter! I totally forgot their weight since I stopped using them over 1yr and a half ago. My apologies. But unfortunately the magnetic pulling force from the magped doesn’t compare to the maglocks or Avery. Avery being the strongest one. Thanks for correcting me!
Great job pitching this innovative product, but being sold out all the time takes the joy away. Also, special shoes that are a blend of flat style souls with clipless hardware is also tricky to find. Disappointing.
Yeah I noticed they’re sold out. I guess the demand is kinda high. I mean they’re not special shoes but they wouldn’t work as well with those roadie style shoes.

They did well, magnets, just like the hustle bike are strong enough to hold whole i juse use my legs to do a bunny hop, just as easy to mount/dismount.
Hustle bike is easier to clean out on the go when you get mudd in them..
My take is, if youre comming from flats, go hustle bike, if youre comming from clipless, go J pedals
Next next pedal to try will be the pitbulls... they're marketed towards roadies, so no idea how theyll work for MTBing
@@PghMtbRides thanks bro!

Kinda iffy about it... but wanna try it out.. it's not really a clip on you know lol
If you’re coming from clipless pedals you probably will miss the full connected feeling. It will most likely benefit a flat pedal rider more. Only one way to find out though
True that brother I'm a flat pedal rider so I think I'm going to give them a try.

For sure thanks bro appreciate it.
Ayyy Greer!!
Hmm interesting 🤔
392g per pedal and it doesn't include the cleat. Yikes.
Same thing I said when I first tried magnetic pedals. But the bike feels lighter since your legs help out now even though you’re adding weight. I’ve had mag pedals that weighed 498g per pedal and the bike still felt lighter.
@@CalaveraChronicles MagPed pedals' weights are listed on their website by the pair - hundreds of grams less than the REMtech
You have the wrong shoe. If you had a pair that didn't have rocketed soles, you would be way better off.
I’m on Etnies cambers now. They feel great! Didn’t have an issue with the old pair though I just used them up so it was time to replace them
Reviewing the box like anyone cares
Way to pricey
Innovative stuff usually is.
@@CalaveraChronicles they seem indeed interesting, but I will wait first to them to be on stock and then wait for a friend to GAS on them 🤣🤣
That’s a good plan lol good luck brother!
