I've moved away from the I wanna try tuning my car!" phase so it's been a while since I've dropped a comment here, but watching this video I was glad to see you guys were the honest people that got me watching in the first place. At least the only thing hurt were wallets! 😂 Stay safe guys and I wish you the best!
@VehicleVirals Hey guys just a heads up: I received this seemingly spam-ish comment that's impersonating your channel. I'll flag the comment but a warning to the community might be a good idea before someone gets scammed.
Precision looking at the tape: “wtf is this f*cking thing?” Man that was such a shame, but I’m so glad the turbo issue was resolved even if it came out as an expensive fix! Love seeing e90 vids since they’re the ones that inspired me to get an e90 335i in the first place!
Dude I’ve never commented before, but you know better than anyone else. Haters gon hate. But you also know, haters gon pay your bills 💵. Let them talk, none of that affects you. Keep your chin up man, you’re a good dude enjoying to mod your car and sharing it with the world. Keep at it man!❤
Respect to ya brother for being honest. mistakes happen and EVERYONE makes mistakes whether they admit it or not, appreciate your honesty and sharing with your learning curve.
Always use Teflon paste just like the fittings on a nitrous solenoids. The tape has a chance to find its way into the solenoids or in your case the turbo center section.
Unlucky mate! Teflon tape is a godsend, but this is probably a good reminder to us all about it's applications/limitations. Maybe try a liquid/paste type sealer in future? Keeping a small bottle of Loctite 567 thread sealant (300 PSI; 400F rated; oil resistant) or similar in the toolbox may be worth it in the long run...
Hey Cristian 👋, mistakes happen and we learn from them. Sorry to hear it was a costly mistake but I won't hold it against you guys. Most of us could've done it the same way without knowing what was going to happen. I appreciate your candor in making this video and I enjoyed learning from your experience. You're doing awesome work brother and I am proud to be a supporter of your endeavors! Keep on making these enjoyable videos and sharing your journey with all your rides. Be well my friend! 👊

Ik this vid came out a year ago but I wanted to share my fatal mistake. I was doing a walnut blasting on my n54 335i and I had put some shop towel in the intake inlets to protect the turbos from walnuts. Unfortunately for me I forgot I left them there and put the car back together and turned it on. The turbos sucked them up and completely destroyed them. Had to pay for new turbos. My fault.
Good shit man congrats on getting it back up and running 🙏 may seem like a small achievement to some but to others a lot more keep up the grind and I wish you well on your builds and your growth as a person and as a youtuber.
Wow great video and great learning lesson that I didnt have to go through to learn myself and lose money. This is the kind of amazing content that we love to see!
Screw the Haters and enjoy your vehicle! Truthfully, they can't be hating that much if they are watching your videos. In fact, in simplicity, "Haters" are just jealous and envious individuals that wish that they had what you have! Moreover, I had a similar situation occur with Teflon Tape involving the oil pressure sensor in my boosted 1995 Acura Integra SE. From 40 years of automotive experience, I knew what it was right away when my AEM Oil Pressure Gauge was registering a wacky read. The trick with Teflon Tape is that it MUST be applied in the direction that the threaded item will be turned and not against it and if you disassemble the fittings the Teflon Tape must be completely removed from both the male and female fittings, both fittings thoroughly cleaned and new Teflon Tape applied. A better solution to try for leak proof seals are Hercules real-tuff thread sealing products! By the way, I am an avid Honda and Toyota performance enthusiast but I still love my old school BMW M3s. I hope that this helps the community!
I just totaled my e90 a week ago and felt so depressed lately I'm not starting to feel slightly better I really enjoy your videos maybe just maybe I'll be able to get another one some day

Good on you for making this video and explaining what happened. It's very honest and considering you could have just left it with everyone blaming Precision quite easily, even more so. And I must admit - I would have used Teflon tape as well, shame about the 1200 bucks.....

Great video! I have a question for you or your mechanic can you use a mechanical boost controller on a BMW? Or is there any way for controlling the boost on a BMW without getting a tune? I would like a boost controller I can set.
Was the teflon that failed you on the AN fitting or where the 90 screws into the turbo? I've got an e90 DR700 build nearly ready to be tuned and I'm pretty sure we used teflon where the 90 screws into the turbo. Debating going back to remove it...
