This reminds me of a storm I experienced as a child while living on the opposite side of Nova Scotia (on Cape Breton). Our house was about 100 metres from the shore line of a harbour and there was a small group of trees immediately in front of the shore line (but quite a distance behind our house). About 50 metres beside our house here was an access road (about 125 metres long) to a wharf on the shore. We often went swimming there during the summer. One autumn there was a powerful storm. The winds were so strong that the water came halfway up the access road. It might have gone even further if the access road was level (but it went uphill as it receded from the shore). Luckily due to the small group of trees behind our house (and the slightly raised ground they stood on) the water never approached our house. But it was quite a sight seeing it come so far up the access road. And a neighbour lost his shed; the winds were so strong they literally blew his shed apart. The pieces were flying through the air. On an unrelated note we could see land and trees on the opposite side of the harbour. I assumed the land across the harbour was connected to Cape Breton. But once I went up in a private plane for a tour and I discovered all the lands I could see across the harbour were actually islands.

Interesting video, but I started watching because my cousin lives in Yarmouth in Norfolk, UK, and I thought it was a video of the year they had to sandbag their doorsteps !!. Luckily the flood water receded before it got to them.
Heh, Mother Nature is never angry, she does this sort of thing all the time and we know it. But we are still stupid enough to keep building stuff near the water. So we can't complain can we?
